Evaluation of Pre-estimation Model to the Inprocess Surface Roughness for Grinding Operations

  • In grinding operations, one of the most important problems is to increase efficiency of process. In order to achieve this purpose, it is necessary to administer the tool lift of grinding wheel and to optimize grinding conditions. Frequently dressing result in lowering the process efficiency remarkably and makes production cost high. On the other hand, grinding with a worn wheel causes the workpiece surface roughness to increase and often results in the occurrence of such troubles as chatter vibration and homing.

  • This paper presents an improved automatic vending machine for ices. Specially, the main topic of this paper is the development of moving parts for carrying ices out of a freezer. In general, carrying ices out of a vending machine causes much cool air losses. The developed vending machine reduces much cool air losses by the improvement of moving parts. Also the machine reduces many mechanical troubles caused by the freezing of mechanically moving parts.

  • The new measuring method of micro-stickies considering both the effects of charge neutralization and evaporation of process water was developed by KRICT PPRC. By the new KRICT method, the contamination of metal dryer surface and other machine clothes could be estimated quickly and simultaneously. According to this study, it could be confirmed that the novel method is a useful one for the evaluation of several treatments regarding the reduction of stickies troubles.

  • Conventionally, it used to be focused on simply prevention of further settlement of structures, where, much of problems were raised and sometimes the construction itself was not possible. Further, rough estimation of the ground, which is unseen, often incurred many troubles in the maintenance. D-ROG method is a high-tech technology that changes almost all of the concepts on the conventional grouting, is expanding its application scope spanning from the restoration of settled structures to ground strengthening works necessary for building enlargement and remodeling.

  • Serious troubles may occur in electromagnetic equipments due to electrostatic discharge (ESD). The number of the damaging incidents are significantly increasing with the increased use of integrated semiconductor elements with loer operation pwoer. In order to examine the phenomena theoretically, this paper anlyzes properties of the transient electromagnetic fields rdiated by ESD. A new model is presented using the Rompe-weizel formula for the spark resistance. The numerical results of ESD fields are compared with the experimental data that were given by wilson-Ma.

  • A mold plant is characterized by complex processes, frequent schedule changes, and lots of troubles. In order to control the production in mold plant efficiently, huge amount of informations are to be managed in the appropriate way. In this paper, a modular software system for production control is described, which is located between a higher level production planning system and a process control system. It contains the functions such as order processing, operations scheduling and control, tool managemant, NC program managememt including DNC functions, production data acquisition and progress control and statistics.

  • This paper describes the fundamental investigations on the in-process monitoring techniques focused on Acoustic Emission(AE) based on analytical method. Experiments were conducted on a CNC lathe using conventional carbide insert tools under various cutting conditions. As the result of this study a suggestion is given about the multi-purpose use of AE-signals detected with a single sensor for the monitoring of tool wear, built-up edge and chatter vibration in turning process.

  • It is essential to our economy that preserve the cement industry which has contributed to the growth of construction industry. However, it has not been easy to come up with constructing Silo complex in downtown area due to the opposition of residents, and lack of the supply base aroused the troubles in provision of cement. The main objective of this paper lies in making plans for constructing Silo complex and estimating logistics costs affected by the alternative complex.
