티타늄 가공에서 절삭력 분석을 위한 ADL 밀링 가공특성 (ADL Milling Characteristics for the Analysis of Cutting Force of Titanium Machining)

  • The purpose of using coolant in machining is both to increase a tool life and also to prevent product deformation and thus, stabilize the surface quality by lubricating and cooling the tool and the machining surface. However, a very small amount of cutting mist should be used because chlorine-based extreme pressure additives are used to generate environmental pollutants in the production process and cause occupational diseases of workers. In this study, medical titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-7Nb) was subjected to a processing experiment by selecting factors and levels affecting cutting power in the processing of the Aerosol Dry Lubrication (ADL) method using vegetable oil. The machining shape was a slot to sufficiently reflect the effect of the cutting depth. As for the measurement of cutting force, the trend of cutting characteristics was identified through complete factor analysis. The factors affecting the cutting force of ADL slot processing were identified using the reaction surface analysis method, and the characteristics of the cutting force according to the change in factor level were analyzed. As the cutting speed increased, the cutting force decreased and then increased again. The cutting force continued to increase as the feed speed increased. The increase in the cutting depth increased the cutting force more significantly than the increase in the cutting speed and the feed speed. Through the reaction surface analysis method, the regression equation for predicting cutting force was identified, and the optimal processing conditions were proposed. The cutting force was predicted from the secondary regression equation and compared with the experimental value.

  • Dynamic loading of structures often causes excursions of stresses well into the inelastic range, and the influence of the geometric changes on the dynamic response is also significant in many cases. Therefore, both material and geometric nonlinearity effects should be considered in case that a dynamic load acts on the structure. A structure in a nuclear power plant is a structure of importance which puts emphasis on safety. A nuclear container is a pressure vessel subject to internal pressure and this structure is constructed by a reinforced concrete or a pre-stressed concrete. In this study, the material nonlinearity effect on the dynamic response is formulated by the elasto-viscoplastic model highly corresponding to the real behavior of the material. Also, the geometrically nonlinear behavior is taken into account using a total Lagrangian coordinate system, and the equilibrium equation of motion is numerically solved by a central difference scheme. The constitutive relation of concrete is modeled according to a Drucker-Prager yield criterion in compression. The reinforcing bars are modeled by a smeared layer at the location of reinforcements, and the steel layer model under Von Mises yield criteria is adopted to represent an elastic-plastic behavior. To investigate the dynamic response of a nuclear reinforced concrete containment structure, the steel-ratios of 0, 3, 5 and 10 percent, are considered. The results obtained from the analysis of an example were summarized as follows 1. As the steel-ratio increases, the amplitude and the period of the vertical displacements in apex of dome decreased. The Dynamic Magnification Factor(DMF) was some larger than that of the structure without steel. However, the regular trend was not found in the values of DMF. 2. The dynamic response of the vertical displacement and the radial displacement in the dome-wall junction were shown that the period of displacement in initial step decreased with the steel-ratio increases. Especially, the effect of the steel on the dynamic response of radial displacement disapeared almost. The values of DMF were 1.94, 2.5, 2.62 and 2.66, and the values increased with the steel-ratio. 3. The characteristics of the dynamic response of radial displacement in the mid-wall were similar to that of dome-wall junction. The values of DMF were 1.91, 2.11, 2.13 and 2.18, and the values increased with the steel-ratio. 4. The amplitude and the period of the hoop-stresses in the dome, the dome-wall junction, and the mid-wall were shown the decreased trend with the steel-ratio. The values of DMF were some larger than those of the structure without steel. However, the regular trend was not found in the values of DMF.

증발량 관련 기후인자와 팬증발량의 변화 분석 (An Analysis of Changes in Pan Evaporation and Climate Values Related to Actual Evaporation)

  • 전지구적 기온상승으로 인해 증발량이 증가할 것으로 예견되었으나, 다양한 지역에서 관측된 팬증발량은 지난 수십 년간 뚜렷한 감소추세를 나타내고 있다. 본 연구에서는 1960년부터 2007년까지 관측된 국내 18개 기상관측소의 팬증발량과, 증발에 관련된 강수량, 온도, 상대습도, 풍속, 일조시간, 일조율에 대한 변화를 분석하였다. 분석결과 팬증발량은 뚜렷한 감소현상을 나타내었으며, 강수량과 온도는 증가추세를, 상대습도, 풍속, 일조시간, 일조율은 감소추세를 나타내었다. 특히, 일조시간과 일조율의 감소추세는 팬증발량과 지역적으로 상당히 일치하고 있음을 확인하였다. 산점도를 그려 상관관계를 확인해본 결과, 일조시간과 일조율은 팬증발량과 양의 상관관계를 강하게 나타내고 있으며, 강수량의 경우는 팬증발량과는 음의 상관관계가 존재하였다. 강릉관측소 사례연구에서 Penman공식에 의해 추정된 개방된 수면에서의 증발량은 팬증발량에서 보인 것 같은 뚜렷한 하향추세가 검증되지 않아, 기존에 팬증발량 관측값으로부터 증발량을 추정하는 것은 장기적인 증발량 변화를 검토하기 위해서는 부적절함을 확인하였다. 마지막으로 팬증발량이 실제증발량과 서로 상호보완적 관계를 갖기 때문에, 팬증발량이 감소하더라도 실제증발량은 증가할 수 있음을 설명하였다.

  • First lactation records (174) of Jersey${\times}$Sahiwal and Holstein Friesian${\times}$Sahiwal half breds under 9 sires maintained at Chandra Shekher Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India from 1975-1983, were used to estimate the genetic parameters and to predict herd life milk yield and average milk yield per day of herd life from first lactation traits. The traits included were: age at first calving, first service period, first lactation period, first calving interval, first lactation milk yield, milk yield per day of first calving interval, herd life milk yield, herd life and average milk yield per day of herd life. Most of the production and reproduction traits were found to have positive and significant correlations between them on genetic as well as phenotypic scales. Total twelve regression equations were fitted. The prediction equation of herd life milk yield in both the genetic groups showed linear relationship with AFC, FSP, FLP, FLMY and MY/DCI and was apparent and significant. Similarly, polynomials for milk yield per day of herd life for J${\times}$S and HF${\times}$S half breds also showed linear trend, which was found highly significant. The highest and lowest $R^2$ values were found for FCI and AFC, respectively.

An Extension of Theory of Planned Behavior for in-App Advertisements: The Case of Vietnamese Young Mobile Users

  • In-app advertisement is a fast-growing trend in mobile advertising, where user acceptance of ads is facilitated by the fact that users have voluntarily downloaded the app through which the ad is served. However, research in this ad category is limited. This study applies an extended version of the theory of planned behavior. Analysis results from 412 young mobile users in Vietnam using structural equation modeling showed that while localization and perceived enjoyment affected user intention to watch in-app ads as expected, perceived behavioral control and trust did not. Such results may be due to embedding the ads to applications, confusing users' behavioral intentions. The results underline the need for more future research in the area. In practical terms, companies should improve localization and entertainment aspects of ads to create more relevant and engaging advertisements.

  • Phenomena of direct contact condensation (DCC) heat transfer between steam and water are characterized by the transport of heat and mass through a moving steam/water interface. Application of the phenomena of DCC heat transfer to the engineering industries provides some advantageous features in the viewpoint of enhanced heat transfer. This study proposes a simple condensation model on the steam jets discharging into subcooled water from a single horizontal pipe for the prediction of the steam jet shapes. The analysis model was derived from the mass, momentum and energy equations as well as a thermal balance equation with condensing characteristics at the steam/water interface for the axi-symmetric coordinates. The extremely large heat transfer rate at the steam/water interface was reflected in the effective thermal conductivity estimated from the previous experimental results. The analysis results were compared with the experimental ones. The analysis model predicted that the steam jet shape (i. e. radius and length) was increasing as the steam mass flux and the pool temperature were increasing, which was similar in trend to that observed in the experiment.

  • 고온과 고속의 열악한 환경 속에서 발생하는 비행체의 삭마현상은 일반적으로 상변화를 수반하는 유체의 유동, 에너지 전달, 질량전달, 화학반응이 수반되기 때문에 해석과정이 복잡하다. 본 연구에서는 액체로켓엔진의 흑연노즐에 대하여 1차원적으로 삭마현상을 수치해석하고, 실험을 통하여 이를 비교 검토하였다. 낮은 연소압력과 산화제/연료비에서는 삭마가 거의 이루어지지 않았으며, 연소압력과 혼합비가 낮은 경우에는 해석결과의 신뢰도는 낮고 정상작동 구간에서의 해석결과와 실험결과가 차이가 많은 것으로 보아 화학적 삭마 외에 기계적 삭마도 상당하다.

핀테크 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Factors Influencing on the Intention to Use Fintech)

  • Purpose Fintech has been recently drawing extensive attention all over the world as the innovative trend that will change the future of the global financial industry. However, fintech has been mostly focusing on the payment service in the embryonic stage in Korea. This paper will investigate the approach to increase the intention to use for those who do not use fintech at present. Design/methodology/approach This paper empirically analyzes the impact of innovation of users and the perceived ease-of-use and security on the intention to use through the perceived usefulness and confidence. The 255 survey responses were used to verify research hypotheses through covariate structural equation model. Findings According to the analysis results, it was found that innovation had a significant impact on the perceived usefulness, but had no significant impact on confidence. The perceived usefulness had a significant impact on perceived usefulness and confidence. Moreover, the perceived usefulness and confidence had a significant impact on the intention to use. Meanwhile, it was identified that the security perceived by those who do not use fintech had a negative impact on perceived usefulness, confidence, and intention to use related to fintech. Accordingly, fintech service providers need to determine an approach to help customers to have a positive perception on the security of fintech.

대향류 확산 화염 중에서 비구형 입자 성장에 관한 해석 (Simulation of the Growth of Non-Spherical Particles in a Counterflow Diffusion Flame)

  • Silica particle formation and growth process including chemical reaction, coagulation and sintering was studied in a counterflow diffusion flame burner. The counterflow geometry provides a one dimensional flow field, along the stagnation point streamline, which greatly simplifies interpretation of the particle growth characteristics. $SiCl_4$ has been used as the source of silicon in hydrogen/oxygen/argon flames. The temperature profiles obtained by calculation showed a good agreement with experiment data. Using one and two dimensional sectional method, aerosol dynamics equation in a flame was solved, and these two results were compared. The two dimensional section method can consider sintering effect and growth of primary particle during synthesis, thus it showed evolution of morphology of non-spherical particles (aggregates) using surface fractal dimension. The effects of flame temperature and chemical loading on particle dynamics were studied. Geometric mean diameter based on surface area and total number concentration followed the trend of experiment results, especially, the change of diameters showed the sintering effect in high temperature environment.

Impact of water deficiency on agro economy: a case study of Northwest Bangladesh

  • This study examines the effects of water shortage on agricultural wages in Northwest Bangladesh. For this study, meteorological data including information on the monthly temperature, precipitation, wind speed, hour of sunshine and humidity of six weather stations have been utilized during the monitoring period from 1985 to 2005. With the objective to analyze water surplus and water deficiency, a simple soil-water balance model and the modified Penman formula were applied to the Northwest Bangladesh. The seasonality of Mann-Kendell trend statistics has been used to identify the spatial variation of water surplus and deficiency throughout the region. For micro level verification of the result, a detailed field survey has been conducted within the study area. The results showed that the values of the potential evapotranspiration estimated by the modified Penmen equation were negative for certain periods. In this instance, the water deficiency of the district of Rajshahi was observed significantly in the period of pre-monsoon and post-monsoon. The field study also verified that because of such deficiency in water, the agricultural scenario of the area was widely influenced which lead to less agricultural production and less economic benefits.
