균일침전시 여러 가지 금속염화물들을 첨가하여 제조된 TiO2 나노 분말들의 광산화 능력 평가 (Characterizations of Photo-Oxidative Abilities of Nanostructured TiO2 Powders Prepared with Additions of Various Metal-Chlorides during Homogeneous Precipitation)

  • Transition metal ions doped $TiO_2$ nanostructured powders were prepared with simply heating aqueous $TiOCl_2$ solutions, contained various metal ions (Ni, Al, Fe, Zr, and Nb) of 1.47 mol% added as metal-chlorides, at $100^{\circ}C$ for 4 hrs by homogeneous precipitation process under suppressing conditions of water vaporization. The characterizations for prepared $TiO_2$ powders were carried out to observe doping of metal ions, their concentrations and microstructures using XRD, UV-VIS (DRS), XPS, SEM, TEM and ICP. Also, photo-oxidative abilities were evaluated by decomposition of 4-chlorophenol (4CP) under ultraviolet light irradiations. No secondary oxide phases were formed in all the $VTiO_2$ powders, showing doping with various transition metal ions. When adding ions ($Ni^{2+}$ or$ Al^{3+ }$ and $Zr^{4+}$ ) having valance states or ionic radii greatly different from those of $Ti^{4+}$ , the $TiO_2$ powders of mixed anatase and rutile phases were formed, whereas in the case of additions of $^Fe{3+ }$ and $Nb^{ 5+}$ as well as no addition of metal ion the powders with pure rutile phase alone were formed. Among the prepared $TiO_2$ powders, Ni$^{2+}$ doped $TiO_2$ powders, containing a small amount of anatase phase, showed excellent photo-oxidative ability in 4CP decomposition because of relative decreases in electron-hole recombination and poisoning of $TiO_2$ surface during the photoreaction.n.

이온선 스퍼터 증착법에 의하여 제조된 CrOx의 전기적 특성 (The Electrical Characteristics of Chromium Oxide Film Produced by Son Beam Sputter Deposition)

  • The influences of ion beam energy and reactive oxygen partial pressure on the physical and crystallographic characteristics of transition metal oxide compound(CrOx) film were studied in this paper. Chromium oxide films were deposited onto a cover-glass using ion Beam Sputter Deposition(IBSD) technique according to the various processing parameters. Crystallinity and grain size of as-deposited films were analyzed using XRD analysis. Thickness and Resistivity of the films were measured by $\alpha$-step and 4-point probe measurement. According to the XRD, XPS and resistivity results, the deposited films were the cermet type films which had crystal structure including amorphous oxide(a-oxide) phase and metal Cr phase simultaneously. The increment of the ion beam energy during the deposition process led to decreasing of metal Cr grain size and the rapid change of resistivity above the critical $O_2$ partial pressure.

Interaction of the Post-transition Metal Ions and New Macrocycles in Solution

  • Complexation of $Cd^{2+},\;Pb^{2+}\;and\;Hg^{2+}$ ions with four cryptands were studied by potentiometry and solution calorimetry in various weight percent methanol-aqueous solvent at 25${\circ}$C under $CO_2$free nitrogen atmosphere. The stabilities of the complexes were dependent on the cavity size of macrocycles. The $Hg^{2+}$ ion stability constants are higher than those of $Cd^{2+}\;and\;Pb^{2+}$ ion. All the cryptands formed complexes having 1 : 1 (metal to ligand) mole-ratio except for $Hg^{2+}-L_1$ (cryptand 1,2b: 3,5-benzo-9,14,17-trioxa-1,7-diazabicyclo-(8,5,5) heptadecane) and $Cd^{2+}-L_2$ (cryptand 2,2b: 3,5-benzo-10,13,18,21-tetraoxa-1,7-diazabicyclo (8,5,5) eicosane) complexes. $Hg^{2+}-L_1$ complex was a sandwitch type, and the $Cd^{2+}-L_2$ complex showed two stepwise reactions. Thermodynamic parameters of the $Cd^{2+}-L_2$ complex were $6.08(log\;K_1)$, -7.28 Kcal/mol $({\Delta}H_1)$, and $4.78\;(log\;K_2)$, -4.62 Kcal/mol $({\Delta}H_2)$, respectively, for 1 : 1 and 2: 1 mole-ratio. The sequences of the selectivity were increased in the order of $Hg^{2+}\;>Pb^{2+}\;>Cd^{2+}$ ion for $L_3\;and\;L_4$ macrocycles, and the $L_2$-macrocycle has a selectivity for $Cd^{2+}$ ion relative to $Zn^{2+},\;Ni^{2+},\;Pb^{2+}\;and\;Hg^{2+}$ ions. Thus, it is expected that the $L_2$ can be used as carrier for seperation of the post transition metals by macrocycles-mediated liquid membrane because $L_2$ is not soluble in water, and the difference of stability constants of the metal complexes with $L_2$ are large as compared with the other transition metal complexes. The $^1H\;and\;^{13}C-NMR studies indicated that the nitrogen atoms of cryptands have greater affinity to the post transition metal ions than the oxygen atoms, and that the planarities of the macrocycles were lost by complexation with the metal ions because of the perturbation of ring current of benzene molecule attached to macrocycles and counter-anions.

전이금속을 담지한 Ti-SCM 제조 및 특성연구 (Preparation and Characterization of the Photocatalysts Transition Metal-Doped Ti-SCM)

  • 광범위하게 사용되는 $TiO_2$는 자외선 영역 하에서는 상당히 효율적인 광반응 활성을 보이나 가시광 영역에서는 활성이 없는 단점을 가지고 있다는 것은 잘 알려져 있는 사실이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 광촉매가 가지는 문제점을 보완하고자 하였다. 즉, $TiO_2$와 함께 가시광선 영역에서 전자전이를 보일 수 있는 전이금속 등을 활용하여 광반응을 저해하는 전자와 정공과의 재결합을 방지하고, 자외선 영역뿐만 아니라 가시광선 영역까지 넓은 파장 범위에서 광촉매 활성을 가질 수 있는 광촉매를 제조하였다. 이를 위하여 이온교환방법을 이용하여 H형 강산성 이온교환수지에 $TiO_2$ 전구체를 담지 시킨 다음, 전이금속 전구체 등을 담지 시키고 탄화/활성화 과정을 거쳐 전이금속과 이산화티탄이 동시에 존재하는 2종 광촉매(Ti-M-SCM)를 제조하였다. 또한 제조된 Ti-M-SCM의 광분해 효율을 평가하기 위하여 유동식 반응기에서 휴믹산을 대상으로 하여 파장 254 nm와 365 nm 하에서의 광분해 반응을 실시하였다.

Voltammetric Studies of Diazocalix[4]crown-6 for Metal Ion Sensing

  • The complex formation between diazocalix[4]dipropyl (1) and diazocalix[4]crown-6 ether (2) with alkali, alkaline earth and transition metal ions was investigated by voltammetry. Electrochemical properties of compounds 1 and 2 and their selectivity toward metal ions were evaluated in $CH_3CN$ solution by comparison of voltammetric behaviors of two phenols in each compound. Compounds 1 and 2 showed almost same voltammetric behavior which is two irreversible oxidation peaks caused by intramolecular hydrogen bonding between two phenols in 1 and 2. While, however, upon interacting with various metal ions, 1 with two propyl ether groups showed no significant changes in voltammetry, 2 with crown ether group caused significant voltammetric changes upon the addition of $Ba^{2+}$ to 2. Their behavior is closely related to the complex formation by entrapment of metal ion into crown ether cavity, and ion-dipole interaction between metal ion and two phenolic groups in calix[4]crown-6.

  • 2D 전이금속 탄화물(MXenes) 가운데, 타이타늄 기반의 $Ti_3C_2$는 뛰어난 전기전도성과 전기화학적 특성 및 표면작용기의 영향으로 이차 전지와 슈퍼캐패시터와 같은 에너지저장장치의 유망한 전극 물질로 각광받고 있다. 전극으로서 $Ti_3C_2$의 사용은 이온이 반응할 수 있는 표면적을 넓혀줄 뿐만 아니라, 이온의 확산 거리를 줄여주고, 전하의 운동을 향상시켜준다. 이 연구에서, 효율적으로 MAX phase로부터 $Ti_3C_2$를 합성하는 방법을 통해 리튬이온배터리에서 MXene기반의 전극 물질을 위한 새로운 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

  • [에멀존]계에서 거대고리화합물에 의한 효과적인 수송현상을 두가지 관점에서 논의하였다. 하나는 중금속이온($Cd^{2+}$. $Pb^{2+}$$Hg^{2+}$)을 토루엔막으로 추출하는 경우.만일 금속=거대고리 화합물의 상로작용이 크다면 이 추출효과는 증가한다. 주번째 토루엔-경꼐면에서, 금속이온을 정량적으로 용리시키기 위해서는 금속이온 -Re-cieving Phase와 금속이온-거대고리화합물 사이의 상호작용에 대한 LogK의 사가 충분히 커야한다 첫번째는 거대고리 화합물의 주개원자, 치환제, 그리고 공동반경을 고려함으로써 해결된다. 이 연구의 결과들은 이론과 잘 일치하며, 시료용액의 종류는 에멀존망에 의한 금속이온의 수송현상에 영향을 준다.$SCN^-$,$1^-$$Br^-$이온과 같은 $A^-$이온을 사용할 경구, 수송순서는 $A^-$ 이온의 용매화순서의 크기에 일치하며, 용해도의 차이때문에 금속이온의 소송능력은 Receiving Phase의 화학종 농도의 크기에 영향을 받는다. 이 연구에서는 적당한 실험조건하에서 조절된 토루엔막을 사용함으로써 $Cd^{2+}$, $Pb^{2+}$, 및 $Hg^{2+}$ 이온의 혼합물로부터 각각의 단일이온들을 효과적으로 분리농축할 수 있었다. 그리고 $Cu^{2+}$,$Ni^{2+}$,$Zn^{2+}$,$Fe^{2+}$, 이온들은 중금속이온들을 분히 농축하는데 부분적으로 방해를 하였다. 그러나 알칼리 및 알칼토금속이온은 방해하지 않았다.

Study of Complexes of C2- and C6-dihydroceramides with Transition Metal Ions Using Electrospray Ionization Tandem Mass Spectrometry (ESI-MS/MS)

  • The complexes of $C_2-\;and\;C_6$-dihydroceramides with transition metal ions have been investigated by using Electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry (ESI-MS/MS). The formation and fragmentation pathways of several doubly charged cluster ions as well as singly charged cluster ions of $C_2-\;and\;C_6$-dihydroceramides with transition metal ions have studied by ESI-MS/MS in the positive mode. Under ESI conditions, dihydroceramides form singly and doubly charged complexes with transition metal ions $(Mn^{2+},\;Fe^{2+},\;Co^{2+},\;Ni^{2+},\;and\;Zn^{2+}\;except\;Cu^{2+})$ with the compositions of $[DHCer+M+2H^2O-H]^+,\;[2DHCer+M+2H2O-H]^+,\;[3DHCer+M+2H2O-H]^+,\;[2DHCer+M]^{2+},\;[3DHCer+M]^{2+},\;[4DHCer+M]^{2+},\;[5DHCer+M]^{2+},\;and\;[6DHCer+M]^{2+}\;(DHCer\;=\;C_2-\;or\;C_6$-dihydroceramide, M = transition metal ion). The different complexation behavior of copper is responsible for relatively lower affinity of dihydroceramides to copper compared to those of other transition metals. It is also found that in the mass spectrum of the dihydroceramide complexes with copper(II), [2DHCer+Cu-H]$^+$ was observed with considerable intensity as well as [2DHCer+Cu+2$H_2O-H]^+$ due to its different geometry from those of other metals.

Sodium Ion-Selective Membrane Electrode Based on Dibenzopyridino-18-Crown-6

  • A sodium ion- selective electrode based on dibenzopyridino-18-crown-6 as membrane carrier was successfully prepared. The electrode exhibits a Nernstian response for $Na^+$ ions within the concentration range of $1.0\;{\times}\;10^{-4}-1.0\;{\times}\;10^{-1}$ M. The response time of the sensor is 20 s. The sodium ion-selective electrode exhibited comparatively good selectivities with respect to alkali, alkaline earth and some transition metal ions.

Crystal Growth of Transition Metal Ion Doped Rutile

  • Transition metal ions, such as Sc, V, Cr and Fe, doped rutile crystals were grown by Floating Zone method. Growth conditions for high quality of crystals depending on the concentration of doped ions were investigated. Grown crystals were cut and polished to thin wafers, and then various types of defects such as homogeneities, low angle grain boundaries, scattering centers, and oxygen vacancies were analyzed. The effects of transition metal ions on defect formation are discussed. Results and discussions on absorption and fluorescence spectra and electrical properties of grown crystals were also reported.
