Seismic response of NFRP reinforced RC frame with shape memory alloy components

  • Creation of plastic deformation under seismic loads, is one of the most serious subjects in RC structures with steel bars which reduces the life threatening risks and increases dissipation of energy. Shape memory alloy (SMA) is one of the best choice for the relocating plastic hinges. In a challenge to study the seismic response of concrete moment resisting frame (MRF), this article investigates numerically a new type of concrete frames with nano fiber reinforced polymer (NFRP) and shape memory alloy (SMA) hinges, simultaneously. The NFRP layer is containing carbon nanofibers with agglomeration based on Mori-Tanaka model. The tangential shear deformation (TASDT) is applied for modelling of the structure and the continuity boundary conditions are used for coupling of the motion equations. In SMA connections between beam and columns, since there is phase transformation, hence, the motion equations of the structure are coupled with kinetic equations of phase transformation. The Hernandez-Lagoudas theory is applied for demonstrating of pseudoelastic characteristics of SMA. The corresponding motion equations are solved by differential cubature (DC) and Newmark methods in order to obtain the peak ground acceleration (PGA) and residual drift ratio for MRF-2%. The main impact of this paper is to present the influences of the volume percent and agglomeration of nanofibers, thickness and length of the concrete frame, SMA material and NFRP layer on the PGA and drift ratio. The numerical results revealed that the with increasing the volume percent of nanofibers, the PGA is enhanced and the residual drift ratio is reduced. It is also worth to mention that PGA of concrete frame with NFRP layer containing 2% nanofibers is approximately equal to the concrete frame with steel bars.

  • In this paper, a problem of geometrically distorted images is considered. In particular, the paper discusses the detection of a watermark from a photographed image of the watermarked picture. The image is possibly obtained by using a digital camera. This watermark detection problem is made difficult by various geometric distortions added to the original picture through the printing and photographing processes. In particular, the paper focuses on the geometric distortion due to a projective transformation, as part of a camera 3D-to-2D imaging process. It is well-known that a cross ratio of collinear points is invariant under a perspective projection. By exploiting this fact, a projective-invariant digital watermarking technique is developed. By detecting the picture's corners, and the image center point at the intersection of two main diagonal lines, predefined cross ratios are used to compute the watermark embedded locations. From those identified embedding pixel locations, a watermark can be detected by performing a correlation between a watermark pattern and the image over those pixels. The proposed method does not require an inverse transformation on the distorted image, thus simplifying the detection process. Performance of the proposed method has been analyzed through computer experiments

  • This paper proposes the boost type bidirectional zero current switching(ZCS) DC/DC converter of transformer series construction for electric vehicle operation using low voltage battery. This converter can high boost through the double voltage circuit and series construction of output part using two converters. This converter system has the advantages that bidirectional power transfer is excellent, size and making of transformer because of this converter keeps the transformation ratio to 1:1. Proposed DC/DC converter uses the ZCS method to decrease the switching loss. By replacing reactance ingredients of L-C resonance circuit for ZCS with leakage inductance ingredients of high frequency transformer and half-bridge capacitor it reduces system size and expense because of not add special reactor. It can confirm to output of high voltage to operate the electric vehicle with low voltage of input and operation of ZCS in all load region through the result of PSIM simulation and experiment.

시알론을 첨가한 탄화규소 세라믹스의 제조 (Preparation of Silicon Carbide with Sialon)

  • Silicon carbide with sialon was prepared by hot pressing and transient liquid-phase sintering, and the effects of sintering atmosphere and starting phases on their microstructural characteristics were investigated. The sintered SiC with Sialon composition(Y2O3, AlN, Si3N4) in argon atmosphere had high sintered density and large aspect ratio. But sintered specimens in nitrogen atmosphere showed low aspect ratio and small grian size, becuase of the retardation of phase transformation and grain growth. Addition of Y-Sialon powder to SiC also retarded the phase transformation to ${\alpha}$-SiC from ${\beta}$-SiC and densification. The SiC specimen prepared from the starting ${\beta}$-SiC powder with Sialon composition(Y2O3, AlN, Si3N4) showed the highest fracture toughness about 6.0 MPa$.$m1/2.

  • 본 논문은 iterated contractive transformations을 이용한 심전도 데이터 압축에 관한 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 이방법은 piecewise self-affine fractal interpolation(PSAFI)에 의해 심전도 신호의 임의 구간들을 표현한다. Piecewise self-affine fractal model은 자기자신의 수축적 유사 변환으로 구성된다고 볼 수 있는 이산 데이터에 사용된다. 제안된 알고리즘은 MIT/BIH arrhythmia 데이터베이스로 평가되었다. PSAFI는 주어진 압축율에서 기존의 직접 압축 방법보다 상대적으로 적은 재생 오차를 나타냈다. 샘플링 주파수는 400Hz이고 resolution은 12bits인 원래 신호에 대해 압축율이 883.9bps일때 평균재생오차(APRD)는 5.39%를 나타냈다.

비례하중변환법의 등가정하중을 이용한 비선형 거동을 하는 구조물의 최적설계 (Structural Optimization for Non-Linear Behavior Using Equivalent Static Loads by Proportional Transformation of Loads)

  • Nonlinear response structural optimization using equivalent static loads (NROESL) has been proposed. Nonlinear response optimization is solved by sequential linear response optimization with equivalent static loads which are generated from the nonlinear responses and linear stiffness matrix. The linear stiffness matrix should be obtained in NROESL, and this process can be fairly difficult for some applications. Proportional transformation of loads (PTL) is proposed to overcome the difficulties. Equivalent static loads are obtained by PTL. It is the same as NROESL except for the process of calculating equivalent static loads. PTL is developed for large-scale probems. First, linear and nonlinear responses are evaluated from linear and nonlinear analyses, respectively. At a DOF of the finite element method, the ratio of the two responses is calculated and an equivalent static load is made by multiplying the ratio and the loads for linear analysis. Therefore, the mumber of the equivalent static loads is as many as that of DOF's and an equivalent static load is used with the reponse for the corresponding DOF in the optimization process. All the equivalent static loads are used as multiple loading conditions during linear response optimization. The process iterates until it converges. Examples are solved by using the proposed method and the results are compared with conventional methods.

해상운송분야의 디지털 전환 성공요인에 대한 우선순위 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Priority Evaluation of the Success Factors for Digital Transformation in Maritime Transport Sector)

  • 본 연구의 목적을 구체적으로 기술하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 해상운송분야에서의 디지털 전환이 무엇인 지에 대한 정의를 내리고자 한다. 둘째, 디지털 전환과 관련된 다양한 선행연구를 검토하여 해상운송분야의 디지털 전환에 대한 성공요인을 도출하고자 한다. 마지막으로 도출된 성공요인들에 대한 우선 순위를 도출하기 위하여 AHP 분석 모형을 구축하고 해상운송분야 실무 전문가들을 대상으로 전문가 설문조사를 실시한다. 설문조사 결과를 바탕으로 해상운송분야의 디지털 전환의 성공요인들 중 우선적으로 고려해야 할 요인들이 무엇인지 가이드라인을 제공하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 해상운송분야 디지털 전환을 위한 성공요인의 우선순위를 도출하기 위하여 4개의 상위 평가항목(전략요인, 조직문화 및 인적요인, 기술요인, 환경요인)과 21개의 하위 평가항목으로 계층구조를 설정하였고 AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process)기법 중에서 항목들의 가중치를 매기는 상대적 평가방법을 적용하였다. 해상운송분야 관련 대학교수, 연구단체, 해운회사, 컨테이너터미널, 해상운송 관련 IT업체에 종사하는 전문가들을 통해서 수집된 설문지 중에서 정보의 정확도를 높이기 위하여 일관성 비율을 0.1이하인 24부의 설문을 대상으로 AHP 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 해상운송분야 디지털 전환의 성공요인에 대한 제1계층 요인들의 우선순위는 전략요인, 조직문화 및 인적요인, 기술요인, 환경요인 순으로 나타났다. 또한 21개의 세부항목에 대한 우선순위를 살펴보면 새로운 비즈니스 모델 개발, 적극적인 미래 디지털 전략의 조성, 최고디지털 책임자의 리더십 등이 높게 나타났다.

  • This study presents a new algorithm to detect the facial feature in a color image entered from the mobile device with complex backgrounds and undefined distance between camera's location and the face. Since skin color model with Hough transformation spent approximately 90$\%$ of running time to extract the fitting ellipse for detection of the facial feature, we have changed the approach to the simple geometric vector operation, called a TS(Triangle-Square) transformation. As the experimental results, this gives benefit of reduced run time. We have similar ratio of face detection to other methods with fast speed enough to be used on real-time identification system in mobile environments.

높은 변형능을 갖는 저탄소 베이나이트계 고강도강의 미세조직과 기계적 특성 (Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of High-Strength Low-Carbon Bainitic Steels with Enhanced Deformability)

  • Recently, steel structures have increasingly been required to have sufficient deformability because they are subjected to progressive or abrupt displacement arising from structure loading itself, earthquake, and ground movement in their service environment. In this study, high-strength low-carbon bainitic steel specimens with enhanced deformability were fabricated by varying thermo-mechanical control process conditions consisting of controlled rolling and accelerated cooling, and then tensile and Charpy V-notch impact tests were conducted to investigate the correlation between microstructure and mechanical properties such as strength, deformability, and low-temperature toughness. Low-temperature transformation phases, i.e. granular bainite (GB), degenerate upper bainite(DUB), lower bainite(LB) and lath martensite(LM), together with fine polygonal ferrite(PF) were well developed, and the microstructural evolution was more critically affected by start and finish cooling temperatures than by finish rolling temperature. The steel specimens start-cooled at higher temperature had the best combination of strength and deformability because of the appropriate mixture of fine PF and low-temperature transformation phases such as GB, DUB, and LB/LM. On the other hand, the steel specimens start-cooled at lower temperature and finish-cooled at higher temperature exhibited a good low-temperature toughness because the interphase boundaries between the low-temperature transformation phases and/or PF act as beneficial barriers to cleavage crack propagation.

휨모멘트 효과가 고려된 변환각 트러스 모델에 의한 철근콘크리트 보의 전단거동 예측 (Shear Behavior Prediction of Reinforced Concrete Beams by Transformation Angle Truss Model Considered Bending Moment Effect)

  • 철근콘크리트 보의 전단거동을 예측하기 위하여 휨모멘트가 고려된 변환각 트러스 모델(TATM)을 제안하였다. 제안된 TATM으로 구한 전단응력-전단변형률 관계는 본 연구에서 수행된 실험결과와 잘 일치하였다. 또한, TATM으로 구한 전단강도는 다양한 전단스팬비와 지점형태 및 단면형태를 가지는 총 170개 실험결과와 비교되었다. TATM에 의한 해석결과는 평균 0.96, 변동계수 11.9 %로서 기존의 트러스 모델에 의한 해석결과보다 실험결과를 더 잘 예측하였으며, 해석결과에 대한 실험결과의 비는 a/d와 η에 관계없이 거의 일정하였다.
