Signal Parameter Estimation via Transfer Matrix Analysis (전달 행렬 분석에 의한 신호변수 추정 기법 연구)

  • 여러 음원들에 의해 형성된 파동장내에서 각 신호음의 주파수 특성과 시간 지연 (time delay)을 추정할 수 있는 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 이 알고리즘의 관련 수식은 두 개의 상호 간섭하는 신호가 입사하고 여기에 주변 환경에 의한 랜덤 잡음이 첨가된다고 가정하여 유도되었으며 두 개 이상의 신호음이 있는 상황에 대해 확장이 가능하다. 본 논문에서 시간 지연이 일정한 수신 신호 영역에 등간격으로 놓여진 수신기로부터 각 센서에 수신된 신호의 스펙트럼은 M개의 센서에 대해 K개의 음원 스펙트럼과 K개의 조정 벡터(steering vector) 의 선형 조합(linear combination)으로 주파수에서 모델된다. 각 음원의 주파수 특성과 음원 으로 들어오는 신호의 입사각을 결정하기 위하여 본 알고리즘은 전달 행렬(transfer matrix) 을 계산하고 그 전달 행렬의 고유값(eigenvalue)과 고유벡터(eigenvector)를 분석한다. 이 고 유값들은 복소수이며 그 크기는 진폭 변환 계수를 결정한다. 위상은 수신기의 간격으로부터 시간 지연을 결정하는 기울기를 갖는 주파수의 선형 함수이다. 전달 행렬에의 입력 자료들 은 동일 간격 소자간의 cross-power spectra이다.

Improved Transformation of the Filamentous Fungus Aspergillus niger Using Agrobacterium tumefaciens

  • Since it is known that Agrobacterium tumefaciens, which has long been used to transform plants, can transfer the T-DNA to yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae during tumourigenesis, a variety of fungi were subjected to transformation to improve their transformation frequency. In this study, I report the A. tumefaciens-mediated transformation of filamentous fungus Aspergillus niger. Transfer of the binary vector pBIN9-Hg, containing the bacterial hygromycin B phosphotransferase gene under the control of the Aspergillus nidulans trpC promoter and terminator as a selectable marker, led to the selection of $50{\sim}100$ hygromycin B-resistant transformants per $1{\times}10^7$ conidia of A. niger. This efficiency is improved $10{\sim}20$ fold more than reported elsewhere. In order to avoid the difficulties in selection transformant from the over-growing non-transformant, I used top agar containing 900 ${\mu}g/ml$ of hygromycin. Genomic PCR and Southern analysis showed that all transformants contained single T-DNA insert per fungal genome. This technique offers an easier and more efficient method than that of using protoplast.

Electromagnetic Analysis and Control Parameter Estimation of Moving-Coil LOA Using Transfer Relations (전자기적 전달관계를 이용한 가동코일형 LOA의 전자기적 특성해석 및 제어정수 도출)

  • This paper deals with an electromagnetic analysis and control parameter estimation of a moving-coil linear oscillatory actuator (MCLOA). Analytical solutions for electromagnetic characteristics of the MCLOA are obtained from transfer relations derived in terms of a magnetic vector potential and two-dimensional (2-d) rectangular coordinate systems. And then, on the basis of 2-d analytical solutions, control parameters such as the thrust constant, the back-emf constant and winding inductances are estimated. Finally, analytical results for both electromagnetic characteristics and control parameters of the MCLOA are validated extensively by finite element (FE) analyses. In particular, test results such as static thrust, resistance and inductance measurements are given to confirm the analyses.

  • The authors apply the transfer influence coefficient method to the 3-dimensional vibration analysis of beam with multi-joints and formulate a general algorithm to analysis the longitudinal, flexural and torsional coupled forced vibration. In this paper, a structure, which is mainly founded in the robot arms, cranes and so on, has some crooked parts, subsystems and joints but has no closed loop in this system. It is modeled as the beam of a distributed mass system with massless translational, rotational and torsional springs in each node, and joint elements of release or roll at which node the displacement vector is discontinuous. The superiority of the present method to the transfer matrix method in the computation accuracy was confirmed from the numerical computation results. Moreover, we confirmed that boundary and intermediate conditions could be controlled by varying the values of the spring constants.

  • A computational analysis has been carried out to get a thorough and full understanding on the effects of convective process parameters on double-diffusive convection during the growth of mercurous bromide ($Hg_2Br_2$) crystals on earth and under ${\mu}g$ conditions. The dimensional maximum magnitude of velocity vector, ${\mid}U{\mid}_{max}$ decreases much drasticlly near Ar = 1, and, then since Ar = 2, decreases. The ${\mu}g$ conditions less than $10^{-2}g$ make the effect of double-diffusion convection much reduced so that adequate advective-diffusion mass transfer could be obtained.

  • In this paper, we at first describe the linear age-dependent population system. In addition, we introduce the nonlinear population system. Using these age-dependent population systems, we evaluate the stability of these age-dependent population systems and determine the optimal birth rates that realize a target distribution which relaxes an aging population. In this paper, we focus on Japan's population and we use the amount of demographic statistics of Japan in year 2000.

  • Although there are still many technical difficulties to be overcome, recent advances in the molecular and cellular biology of gene transfer have made it likely that gene therapy will soon start to play an increasing role in clinical practice. However. safety issues are raised from vector system. It is not clear whether it is safe to incorporate genes into nuclear DNA. Little is known about the antigenicity of gene product which the immune system is encountering. In this review, some safety-related topics are introduced and discussed.

  • This paper presents reducing method of profile error on a mechanical tuning for multi-spindle control of NC machine tools. To reduce the profile error in the feed drive system, it is useful to adopt same transfer function of multi spindle machine tools. By selecting the correction vector of servo rigidity and natural vibration on JK map, multi spindle control can be tuned by mechanical parameters with small profile error.
