Automated Assessment System for Train Simulators

  • Numerous train operating companies provide training by means of driving simulators. A detailed analysis in the course of the rail research project 2TRAIN has shown that the simulation technology, the purposes of training and the overall concept of simulator-based training are rather diverse (Schmitz & Maag, 2008). A joint factor however are weak assessment capabilities and the fact that the simulator training is often not embedded into the overall competence management. This fact hinders an optimal use of the simulators. Therefore, 2TRAIN aims at the development of enhanced training and assessment tools. Taking into account that several simulators are already in use, the focus lays on the extension of existing simulation technology instead of developing entirely new systems. This extension comprises (1) a common data simulation interface (CDSI), (2) a rule-based expert system (ExSys), (3) a virtual instructor (VI), and (4) an _assessment database (AssDB). The foundation of this technical development is an assessment concept (PERMA concept) that is based on performance markers. The first part of the paper presents this assessment concept and a process model for the two major steps of driver performance assessment, i.e. (1) the specification of exercise and assessment and (2) the assessment algorithm and execution of the assessment. The second part describes the rationale and the functionalities of the simulator add-on tools. Finally, recommendations for further technical improvement and appropriate usage are given. based on the results of a pilot study.

  • 웹기반 원격연수는 연수자가 교육현장에서 문제해결학습을 통해 주도적으로 문제해결을 수행하도록 구체적이며 실천적인 가능성을 높이는데 중점을 두어야 한다. 수행평가는 교육목표가 실제상황에서 달성되었는지의 여부를 확인하는 것으로 교육문제 해결의 실천적 수행학습을 통해 평가된다. 따라서 본 연구는 초등교원의 원격연수에 대한 인식도 평가결과인 수행평가의 공정성 및 객관성 문제와 원격 연수의 효율적인 평가방법을 반영하고 수행평가결과 처리에 대한 교수자의 과중한 업무 부담을 해소하고 문제수행능력을 신장하는 원격연수 수행평가 방안을 제시하였다. 본 연구 결과 문제중심의 학습 상황 제공, 그리고 개인 및 그룹별 상호작용 생성과 웹 기반 협동평가 및 동료평가를 통한 문제중심 수행평가를 제공하는 모형을 개발하였다.

The Effect of Upper Extremity Training with a Focus on Functional Reaching, on Trunk Control and ADL Performance in Post-Stroke Hemiplegic Patients

  • Purpose: In this study, we tried to determine the effect of upper extremity training such as functional reaching on improved trunk control and ADL performance in post-stroke hemiplegic patients. Methods: We randomly selected 11 stroke patients in the hospital, who had a problem with the upper extremity, trunk and ADL performance. The patients were divided into the conservative training group and the functional reaching training group. We applied general occupational therapy only in the conservative training group whereas we applied upper extremity training with a focus on functional reaching in the functional reaching training group. To compare the two groups we used several assessment tools such as Modified Barthel Index (MBI), total Trunk Impairment Scale (TIS), static TIS, dynamic TIS and coordinative TIS. Results: The results obtained were as follows: (1) In the functional reaching training group, there was a statistically significant difference in the total TIS score, dynamic TIS score, and MBI. (2) We compared the results obtained before training with the changes in the results obtained after training and found that there was a relation between the assessment outcomes. Especially, static TIS score showed a relation in both groups. Conclusion: Functional reaching training influenced both the trunk control and ADL performance. Especially, the functional reaching training group demonstrated better static trunk control ability than the conservative treatment group.

  • 국제지질자원인재개발센터는 지질자원 분야의 국내 외 인적자원개발을 목적으로 설립되었으며, 개원 이래 교육 훈련 목표 성과를 달성하며 운영되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 국제지질자원인재개발센터 성과의 객관성을 확인하기 위하여 교육인증과정 수료자를 대상으로 교육요구분석 및 교육훈련 과정 성과평가를 실시하였다. 교육요구분석을 위해 Borich 교육요구도와 Locus for Focus 방식을 활용하였다. 교육훈련 과정 성과평가는 성별, 연령별, 학력별, 수강구분에 따라 만족도 및 현업적용도 분석을 위해 설문조사 방식을 활용하였다. 연구결과, 지질학, 광물자원, 석유해저, 지구환경 분야의 교육훈련 과정의 교육요구도가 도출되었으며, Locus for Focus 방식에 따라 교육과정 개발의 시급성을 판단하였다. 교육훈련 과정 성과평가 결과 광물자원, 지구환경 분야의 과정이 지질학 분야의 과정보다 학습성취에 대한 만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났다.

PNF 훈련 프로그램이 건강한 노인의 기능적 평가 측정과 보행에 미치는 효과 (Effect of a PNF Training Program on Functional Assessment Measures and Gait Parameters in Healthy Older Adults)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine changes in functional assessment measures (FAMs) and spatiotemporal gait parameters (STGPs) in healthy older adults before and after a 6-week intervention of a proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) training program. Methods: Thirty healthy older adults (mean age: $73.37{\pm}1.21$ age range: 65-79) were randomly assigned either to an experimental group (participating in a 6-week intervention of PNF training) or a control group (only performing daily activities). Participants in the control group did not receive any training program. Performance was assessed by recording changes in the FAMs and STGPs using functional assessment tools and GAITRite. Results: Participants in the PNF group showed significantly improved functional assessment measures and increased stride length, cadence, velocity, and step width (p<0.05). No significant differences in FAMs and STGPs were found in the control group (p>0.05). Conclusion: Participation in a PNF training program improves FAMs and STGPs, thereby increasing the ability of healthy older adults to maintain dynamic balance during functional performance and gait. These findings support the use of PNF training programs as effective fall-prevention programs for the elderly.

내·외과 간호사의 근거기반 통증사정 및 관리 가이드라인 수행도 (Performance of Evidence-based Pain Assessment and Management Guidelines among Medical-Surgical Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study aimed at the effectiveness to investigate the performance of evidence-based pain assessment and management guidelines. Methods: Participants were 140 nurses at the med-surgical units. Data were collected in early July, 2014 using Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) guideline (2007) revised and validated by Hong and Lee (2012) and analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA using SPSS/WIN18.0. Results: The score of performance of pain assessment guideline was higher than the score of pain management. Categories with high score were pain screening, parameter of pain assessment, documentation, assessment of opioids side-effects, and record of pain caused intervention. Categories with low score were comprehensive pain assessment, multidisciplinary communication, establishing a plan for pain management, consultation and education for patients and their families, and education for nurse. Non-pharmacological management was the lowest one. Conclusion: Assessing and managing pain is a complex phenomenon. It might be useful if institutions host training programs to ensure that nurse are better able to understand and implement pain assessment and management. Since non-pharmacological management is less likely to be used by nurses it may be helpful to include these methods in a training program.

점진적 기능훈련 프로그램이 재가 뇌졸중 환자의 일상생활수행에 미치는 효과: RAI 적용을 중심으로 (The Effects of a Progressive Functional Training Program on ADL Performance in Stroke Patients at Home: Focusing on Application of RAI)

  • Purpose: This study was to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of a progressive functional training program on ADL performance in stroke patients at home after selecting subjects through Resident Assessment Instrument for Home Care (RAI-HC). Method: Ninety stroke patients had a structured training which was 50 min in duration, six times per week for a period of 6 weeks. The subjects were divided into three groups as measured using the RAI-HC progressive functional training program group; the resident rehabilitation exercise group and the control group. Result: The study observed that the functional training program for stroke patients increased the level of activities of daily living (ADL), performance of functional fitness and balance. It also reduced blood lipid and the score of client assessment protocols (CAPs). The functional training program is expected to improve the quality of life in the stroke patients at home. Conclusion: The authors, with the results of this study concluded that, the functional training program is necessary for the stroke patients to improve their quality of life. Hence, the program should be employed immediately.

수정된 강제-유도운동치료와 양측성 상지훈련이 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 상지 수행 능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Modified Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy and Bilateral Arm Training on the Upper Extremity Performance of Individuals with Chronic Hemiparetic Stroke)

  • Purpose: The intention of this study was to investigate the effects of modified constraint-induced movement therapy (mCIMT) with bilateral arm training (BAT) on the motor performance and daily activity performance of individuals with chronic hemiparetic stroke. Methods: Sixteen subjects one year after stroke participated in this study with a control group; the pretest-posttest method was used. The subjects were randomly allocated into two groups: combination of bilateral arm training and modified constraint-induced movement therapy (n=8), and modified constraint-induced movement therapy (n=8). The mCIMT group received therapy for 90 minutes in 3 sessions per week over a period of 4 weeks. The patients receiving a combination of mCIMT and BAT were treated for the same period and frequency. The results were evaluated using the Fugl-Meyer Assessment, Action Research Arm Test (ARAT), and Motor Activity Log-Amount of Use, and Quality of Movement (MAL-AOU, QOM) assessment tools. Results: The Fugl-Meyer Assessment showed that hand and wrist performance improved significantly more in the mCIMT group than in the Combination group (p<0.05). Result from the ARAT assessment showed greater scores for gross movement in the combined group than in the mCIMT group (p<0.05). The MAL-AOU showed that there was greater improvement in the combined group than in the mCIMT group (p<0.05). Conclusion: The forced use of the more affected side can be important for the enhancement of upper extremity performance for chronic hemiparetic stroke patients during their daily activities.

중학교 수학과 수행평가의 개발과 적용 효과에 관한 분석 (Development and Implementation of Performance Assessment for Middle School Mathematics)

  • The purpose of this study is to define performance assessment of mathematics, to make a model of performance task of mathematics for the first grade middle school students in higher group, to examine validity and reliability of performance task and to investigate the effects on the students' achievement and attitude. It first defines performance assessment and exanmines its main features and scoring methods. Based on these, nine performance assessment tasks and scoring criteria were designed for the first grade middle school students in higher group. The validity of performance tasks were examined by experts. The loaming achievement and mathematical attitude test between two groups were performed as pre and post test. The thinking of students about performance assessment was investigated by attitude survey. The results of this study are as follows: First, the validity of the performance tasks is very high. Second, The control group. Forth, there is a difference in student's attitude about mathematics between scorer reliability was high due to the scorer training. Third, there is little difference in teaming achievement between experimental and experimental and control group in 5% meaningful levels. That is, student's of both groups attitude about mathematics comes negatives, but the width of change of negative attitude in experimental group is less than control group. In the trend of negative attitude of mathematics as grade comes higher, this results showed that performance assessment of mathematics had positive influence on attitude of mathematics. The result of survey about mathematical performance assessment experience showed that students have positive attitude to performance assessment and recognized effectiveness of the performance assessment of mathematics.
