레스토랑에서의 윤리적 리더십에 관한 연구 (The Antecedents and Consequences of Ethical Leadership in the Restaurant Industry -Focused on Ethical Context, Personality, and Job Satisfaction-)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate how organization's ethical context, leader's agreeableness, conscientiousness and neuroticism affected his (or her) ethical leadership, and how leader's ethical leadership influenced subordinates' job satisfaction in the restaurant industry. The model was tested in hotel restaurants and family restaurants using a sample of employees in Pusan, Daegu and Gyeongsangbukdo. Empirical results confirmed that organization's ethical context, leader's agreeableness, conscientiousness and neuroticism influenced his (or her) ethical leadership, and leader's ethical leadership affected subordinates' job satisfaction. This research findings implied managerially that firstly, top management should establish employees' ethical regulations and motivate them to work ethically through training, incentives and punishment and secondly, should employee agreeable, conscientious and anti-neurotic person through aptitude test, if possible. In the future, restaurant's successful operations and management depends on partly its ethical status.

  • We propose an efficient mixture Gaussian synthesis method for decision tree based state tying that produces better context-dependent models in a short period of training time. This method makes it possible to handle mixture Gaussian HMMs in decision tree based state tying algorithm, and provides higher recognition performance compared to the conventional HMM training procedure using decision tree based state tying on single Gaussian GMMs. This method also reduces the steps of HMM training procedure. We applied this method to training of PBS, and we expect to achieve a little point improvement in phoneme accuarcy and reduction in training time.

문맥적응적 화면내 예측 모델 학습 및 부호화 성능분석 (Context-Adaptive Intra Prediction Model Training and Its Coding Performance Analysis)

  • 최근 딥러닝을 적용하는 비디오 압축에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 특히, 화면내 예측 부호화의 성능 한계를 극복할 수 있는 방안으로 딥러닝 기반의 화면내 예측 부호화 기술이 연구되고 있다. 본 논문은 신경망 기반 문맥적응적 화면내 예측 모델의 학습기법과 그 부호화 성능분석을 제시한다. 즉, 본 논문에서는 주변 참조샘플의 문맥정보를 입력하여 현재블록을 예측하는 기존의 합성곱 신경망(CNN: Convolutional Neural network) 기반의 화면내 예측 모델을 학습한다. 학습된 화면내 예측 모델을 HEVC(High Efficiency Video Coding)의 참조 소프트웨어인 HM16.19에 추가적인 화면내 예측모드로 구현하고 그 부호화 성능을 분석하였다. 실험결과 학습한 예측 모델은 HEVC 대비 AI(All Intra) 모드에서 0.28% BD-rate 부호화 성능 향상을 보였다. 또한 비디오 부호화 블록분할 구조를 고려하여 학습한 경우의 성능도 확인하였다.

해외 한국어 교사 한국 방문 연수 프로그램의 개발을 위한 사례 연구 -미국 정규학교 한국어 교사 연수를 대상으로- (Case Studies of Developing Training Programs in Korea for Korean Language Instructors Overseas: With Focus on Training Programs for Korean Language Teachers at US K-12 Schools)

  • This paper seeks to use case studies of training programs for teachers at US K-12 schools to provide a model for developing training programs in South Korea for Korean language teachers overseas, and to consider directions for the future. Toward the end, we review examples of professional development programs for Korean language instructors at US K-12 schools that we have developed and conducted between 2011 and 2016. By comparing these programs with the results of post-program assessments, we explore ways of improving those programs. To respect teachers' wishes, these training programs have attempted to strike a balance between cultural and linguistic education while focusing more on workshops, debates, and field trips than on theoretical lectures. The difficulty of operating such programs is the difference in the teachers' individual circumstances and educational context, which necessitates giving teachers an opportunity to discuss the content of the program and find ways to apply it to their own circumstances. To resolve such difficulties, the training programs that we develop should avoid predetermined curriculums and should not be focused on simple drills or the trainer. Instead, these programs should take the approach of proactively incorporating contents desired by the participating teachers by starting with the situations, needs, and tasks of each of those teachers.

Attention Capsule Network for Aspect-Level Sentiment Classification

  • As a fine-grained classification problem, aspect-level sentiment classification predicts the sentiment polarity for different aspects in context. To address this issue, researchers have widely used attention mechanisms to abstract the relationship between context and aspects. Still, it is difficult to effectively obtain a more profound semantic representation, and the strong correlation between local context features and the aspect-based sentiment is rarely considered. In this paper, a hybrid attention capsule network for aspect-level sentiment classification (ABASCap) was proposed. In this model, the multi-head self-attention was improved, and a context mask mechanism based on adjustable context window was proposed, so as to effectively obtain the internal association between aspects and context. Moreover, the dynamic routing algorithm and activation function in capsule network were optimized to meet the task requirements. Finally, sufficient experiments were conducted on three benchmark datasets in different domains. Compared with other baseline models, ABASCap achieved better classification results, and outperformed the state-of-the-art methods in this task after incorporating pre-training BERT.

대화 말뭉치 구축을 위한 반자동 의미표지 태깅 시스템 (A Semi-Automatic Semantic Mark Tagging System for Building Dialogue Corpus)

  • 지능형 음성 대화 인터페이스 구현에 있어 핵심어의 의미표지는 사용자 의도 파악을 위한 중요한 요소이다. 대화시스템은 사용자 발화의 의도를 파악하기 위해 핵심어와 그 의미표지를 이용하여 발화의 의도를 결정한다. 하나의 핵심어는 여러 개의 의미표지를 가질 수 있는 중의성을 지닌다. 이러한 중의성을 지닌 핵심어를 사용자의 의도와 일치하는 의미표지로 결정하는 것은 단어 의미 분별 문제와 유사하다. 우리는 전사된 대화 말뭉치의 약 23%를 수동으로 의미를 부착하여 핵심어에 대한 의미표지 사전, 유의어 사전, 문맥벡터 사전을 먼저 구축한 후, 나머지 77% 대화 말뭉치에 존재하는 핵심어의 의미를 자동으로 부착한다. 중의성을 가진 핵심어는 문맥벡터 사전으로부터 문맥 벡터 유사도를 계산하여 의미를 결정한다. 핵심어가 미등록어인 경우에는 유의어 사전을 이용하여 가장 유사한 핵심어를 찾아 그 핵심어의 의미를 부착한다. 중의성을 가진 고빈도 핵심어 3개와 저빈도 핵심어 3개를 말뭉치에서 선정하여 제안 시스템의 성능을 평가하였다. 실험결과, 수동으로 구축한 말뭉치를 사용하였을 때 약 54.4%의 정확도를 얻었고, 반자동으로 확장한 말뭉치를 사용하였을 때 약 50.0%의 정확도를 얻었다.

A Study on Airline Cabin Crew Safety Training Programs and Managers

  • As our whole society has become increasingly aware of safety and emphasizes the importance of preventing safety accidents, the airline cabin service sector is also facing a strong demand to improve practical system for aviation safety education. In this regard, the development of appropriate safety education programs and the getting of human resources who can develop and operate such programs are becoming key issues. This study aims to provide academic and practical implications for safety education and training in airline cabins by reconfirming the importance and direction of safety education in the context of airline cabin services, and by specifying and establishing qualification requirements for personnel who develop and operate such safety programs. To this end, we review the content that should be included in safety training programs, the qualifications required of developers, managers, instructors, and examiners who develop or operate such programs, and how safety training programs can be continually improved as relevant conditions change in the future. In addition, we have also suggested ways to train appropriate managers, instructors, and examiners, including improving the compensation system for them, and how to effectively manage trainees. In order to secure a higher level of aviation safety in the future, it will be necessary to continue research on the development of more diverse and high-quality aviation safety education programs and the training of related personnel.

Bridge Resource Management Training Programs in Korea and Their Effectiveness

  • Objective: This study aims to introduce the bridge resource management (BRM) training courses implemented in Korea and to analyze their effectiveness in several views. Background: BRM training will be a mandatory course for crew members of ships from 2017. At this stage, it is needed to check if the BRM training courses implemented until now was effective to the Korean maritime safety and to investigate if there are more effective training methods. Method: The effectiveness of BRM training intervention in Korea was compared with that of the other countries, using Kirkpatrick's (1976) training evaluation framework. Kim (2012)'s data on the BRM training effectiveness were re-analyzed in order to check if the effects of BRM training are dependent on the bridge work experience. Results: Many BRM training courses has been opened in Korea. However, the methods to assess BRM training effects used in Korea focused on the survey of subjective satisfaction level, not investigating trainees' attitude and behavior change. On the other hand, the effectiveness of BRM training was higher to the bridge officers with long work experience than with shorter work experience. Conclusion: The contents of BRM training should be changed to effectively apply to the context of the real-world exercise and be differentiated depending on the work experience. Research on the methods to measure the BRM training effectiveness is also more required. Application: The results of this study will aid to develop the BRM training courses for bridge officers of ships in the BRM training institutions.

  • A Summary is given of conventional electrical engineering university education and a description of the employment scene for the graduates. The training requirements of graduates for three different industrial employers are given and the steps taken to meet some of these requirements are explained in detail. The steps taken include tow training programmes, one an undergraduate final year course and the other a graduate training programme. The final year course teaches to design and construct a real product to specifications, whereas the graduate training programme employs a new graduate or postgraduate student on industrial projects which can be closely supervised for maximum benefit. Both programmes are described in detail and the conclusion developed as to future requirements.

Levoatrial Cardinal Vein: Occluder Embolization and Complication Management

  • In rare cases, levoatrial cardinal vein may occur as an isolated condition without additional congenital anomalies. Depending on the direction and flow of the shunt, this pathology may produce symptoms; alternatively, it may be asymptomatic, as in the case presented in this study. In asymptomatic cases, complications, such as paradoxical embolism and brain abscess, can arise later. In the 11-year-old patient whose case is presented here, the levoatrial cardinal vein was asymptomatic and incidentally detected. The percutaneous closure method was applied first. However, by 16 hours after the procedure, the occluder device had embolized to the iliac artery. Emergency surgery was performed; first, the occluder device was removed, and levoatrial cardinal vein ligation was then performed via a mini-thoracotomy. The symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment modalities of isolated levoatrial cardinal vein are discussed in the context of this case described herein.
