The Design of Analog-to-Digital Converter using 12-bit Pipeline BiCMOS (12-bit 파이프라인 BiCMOS를 사용한 A/D 변환기의 설계)

  • There is an increasing interest in high-performance A/D(Analog-to-Digital) converters for use in integrated analog and digital mixed processing systems. Pipeline A/D converter architectures coupled with BiCMOS process technology have the potential for realizing monolithic high-speed and high-accuracy A/D converters. In this paper, the design of 12bit pipeline BiCMOS A/D converter presented. A BiCMOS operational amplifier and comparator suitable for use in the pipeline A/D converter. Test/simulation results of the circuit blocks and the converter system are presented. The main features is low distortion track-and-hold with 0-300MHz input bandwidth, and a proprietary 12bit multi-stage quantizer. Measured value is DNL=${\pm}$0.30LSB, INL=${\pm}$0.52LSB, SNR=66dBFS and SFDR=74dBc at Fin=24.5MHz. Also Fabricated on 0.8um BiCMOS process.

  • Communication based train control system is applied regularly worldwide. And this system may be used in domestic soon. Communication based train control system does not depend on conventional track circuit. Therefore, position and distance control of train to prevent collision with leading train may become important safety factor. This paper developed collision avoidance algorithm to control trains of several units efficiently for this In developing a collision avoidance algorithm, it is desirable to avoid the need for additional system. Additional system restricts the development of the algorithm by limiting the effectiveness of the algorithm to only those areas where the additional system can be afforded and has been installed.

  • The Seoul subway line No.2 is the one of the busiest metro service line of the passenger transportation in Seoul metropolitan city. The number of the passengers served by the Seoul subway line No.2 is more than 1.9 million in a day according to the transportation reference of 2004, which is about $15\%$ of the whole population in Seoul metropolitan city. This is the reason why the Seoul Metropolitan Subway Corporation(SMSC) is implementing the refurbishment of the current ATS signalling system of Seoul Line No.2 into the most advanced ATO system with the continuous air-gap telegram transmission through the track circuit without any suspension of the train service either in when or in where, which is the first in the world in its attempt to refurbish the old signalling system under service without any suspension of the train operation.

  • The main objective of this paper is to design DC-DC MPPT circuit using chaotic pulse width modulation to track maximum power from solar PV module for space application. The direct control method of tracking is used to extract maximum power. The nominal duty cycle of the main switch of DC-DC SEPIC converter is adjusted so that the solar panel output impedance is equal to the input resistance of the SEPIC converter which results better spectral performance in the tracked voltages when compared to conventional PWM control. The conversion efficiency of the proposed MPPT system is increased when CPWM is used as a control scheme

  • Tilting train has been developed to increase the operational speed of the trains on conventional lines which have many curves. This train are tilted at curves to compensate for unbalanced carbody centrifugal acceleration to a greater extent than compensation produced by the track cant, so that passengers do not feel centrifugal acceleration and thus trains can run at higher speed at curves. This paper show that results of normal capacity calculations of the electrical equipments such as Main transformer, PWM converter, VVVF inverter, traction motor in TTX(tilting train express) with maximum operation speed 180 km/h

  • 전기철도 분야에서 전자기파에 의한 환경영향 평가는 중요한 요소가 되고 있으며 급전시스템, 신호시스템, 차량시스템 등으로 나누어 각각에 대한 전자기파 환경 영향에 대한 평가에 관한 사항이 연구 중에 있다. 특히 신호시스템 중, AF(Audio Frequency)궤도회로는 철도차량과의 빈번한 통신을 통하여 철도차량 제어에 많은 역할을 담당하므로 잡음에 취약하고 오동작은 사고로 직결되므로 이러한 잡음에 대한 평가는 중요하다 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 전기철도차량과 신호시스템 중 AF궤도회로와의 전자기적합성을 입증할 수 있는 고조파 분석을 통한 전도성잡음의 시험 및 평가에 대한 방안을 제시한다.

  • The train control system using radio is based on the radio communication between an on-board control system and a ground control system unlike other train control systems that rely on track circuit. To realize a new train control system based on a new principle, it is important to analyze safety in a systematic manner at an early stage, and identify important factors for the system. For this reason, we think a procedure that select hazards and identify their causes and allocate safety requirements to such hazards. This paper describes this procedure to realize system safety.
