Dimensions of Smart Tourism and Its Levels: An Integrative Literature Review

  • Smart tourism is seen as a revolution in the tourism industry, involving innovative and transformative theoretical-practical approaches for the sector. As a result of its application in the tourist context, benefits can be seen such as more sustainable practices, greater mobility and better accessibility in destinations, evolution of processes and experiences of tourists. Much of this is achieved through the support of technological solutions. However, despite the immense expectations, and the many researches carried out on it, a literature summary regarding the dimensions that can be observed in each application of this smart tourism has not yet been proposed. Therefore, supported by the PRISMA recommendation, this research proposed to carry out an integrative review of the literature on smart tourism (in its different levels of application, such as the city, the destination and the smart tourism region), with the objective of mapping the dimensions that underlie it. Thus, from an initial scope of 833 intellectual productions obtained, inputs were found for the dimensions in 363 of them after a thorough analysis. The compilation of data obtained from these productions supported the proposition of 14 operational dimensions of smart tourism, namely: collaboration, technology, sustainability, experience, accessibility, knowledge management, innovation management, human capital, marketing, customized services, transparency, safety, governance and mobility. With this set of dimensions, it is envisaged that the implementation of smart tourism projects can present more comprehensive and assertive results. In addition, shortcomings and opportunities for new research that support the evolution of the theory and practice of smart tourism are highlighted.

Automatic Recommendation of Nearby Tourist Attractions related to Events (이벤트와 관련된 주변 관광지 자동 추천 알고리즘 개발)

  • Participating in exhibitions is one of the major activities for tourists. When selecting their next travel destination after participating in an event, they use map services and social network services, such as blogs, to obtain information about tourist attractions. The map services are location-based recommendations, because they can easily retrieve information regarding nearby places. Blogs contain informative content about tourist attractions, thereby providing content-based recommendations. However, few services consider both location and content. In location-based recommendations, tourist attractions that are not related to the content of the event attended might be recommended. Content-based recommendation has a disadvantage in that events located at a distance might get recommended. We propose an algorithm that considers both location and content, based on information from the Korea Tourism Organization's Linked Open Data (LOD), Wikipedia, and a Korean dictionary. By extracting nouns from the description of a tourist attraction and then comparing them with nouns about other attractions, a content-based relationship is determined. The distance to the event is calculated based on the latitude and longitude of each tourist attraction. A weight selected by the user is used for linear combination with the content-based relationship to determine the preference order of the recommendations.

Inbound Tourism Growth and the Changing Spatial Distribution of Inbound Tourist Flows at the Regional Level in China (중국의 입국관광 성장과 입국관광객의 공간적 분포 변화)

  • China's inbound tourism became one of the key drivers for economic growth with open-door policy in 1978 and has experienced the fast growth over the past three decades. In 2008, China, as one of the world's leading tourist destinations, is ranked the 4th globally in the number of inbound overnight tourists. Based on China tourism statistics, this paper aims to examine the growth of inbound tourist flows at the national level and the changing spatial distribution by comparing between 1995 and 2008 at the regional level (31 province-level regions) in China. In particular, the spatial distributions of tourist flows from the 6 main generating countries (South Korea, Japan, Singapore, U.S.A., Germany, and Russia) are more concretely analyzed. For five countries except Russia, with slight differences by country, while the eastern area of China is still the most popular destination and western part remains the least visited area, the central part is witnessing the increasing popularity. Russia shows an obvious difference, presenting the spatial pattern that tourist flows are mainly concentrated in the northern and the most southern part of China. This paper helps to understand the dynamics of China's regional changes from an inbound tourism perspective.

  • The main objective of this study was to investigate how Jongga and its cuisine is perceived by Koreans and foreign tourists and develop Jongga culinary culture for culinary tourism. Chungjae Jongga was chosen since it is one of the most famous Jongga in South Korea. In-depth personal interviews were performed with Koreans and foreign tourists. Interviews were performed to provide deeper insights into comments and subject matters. Most tourists selected "having lunch at Jongga" as the most distinctive part of the tour. To develop the experience at Jongga as a culinary destination, questionnaires were created to study eight areas: satisfaction, expectations as a tourist at Jongga, most impressive part of tour, preference of food serving style, length of stay, price range, things to be improved, and role of food guide. This study will help Jongga to improve food as a culinary tourist's attraction and ultimately heighten the value of Jongga. Perceptions toward Jongga and its cuisine were generally positive, but the quality of service and lack of organization in establishments were perceived to be negative factors.

  • Kimchi is traditionally fermented Korea dish Which holds the sprits of the Korean people within and is valued cultually. As a local autonomy has grown in Korea, tourism industry has been during the last decade promoted aggressively in the local government. As a result tourism has been on of the fatest growing industries in the resent years. In particular, the utilization of cultural tourism resources such as regional festivals have become very popular everywhere. It is important to develop and use cultural aseets as tourism resources. The festival has turned into regional ones catering to local residents and festivals are being promoted as international tourist sites to attract foreign tourists as wellas introduce the nation's rich cultural heritage abroad. Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture and Sports has provided support in cultivation regional culturals as international tourist attractions. It taken has into account a trend in the worldwide travel industry for people to participate and experience the culture unique to their traveling destination rather than particilate in for Conventional sightseeing tours. This study result indicated that more people know the name of events the more people join the events. The reason of not joining events are a shortage of time and information, and unsatisfactory programs etc. They get some information from TV or radio. There are some different opinions among the groups which related to events. The four factors extracted from the factor analysis. But the groups don't have different needs and objectves. in the future study, it is important to investigate the tourists' needs and wants for events and to reflect.

  • This study's leading tourist destination in Busan Haeundae, Gwangalli, APEC Naru Park, including seven regional surveys conducted by selecting a feel for the waterfront area was investigated. As a result, only 66% of Haeundae, "the sea" seem, a 77.6 percent Gwangalli a "sea looks", APEC Naru Park, 76 percent of the "sea looks", ${\cdots}{\cdots}$ (amout of) ${\cdots}{\cdots}$.

  • The purpose of this study is to find factors to measure satisfaction degree of old palace tourism. Frochot & Hughes developed HISTOQUAL, the satisfaction measurement method of cultural heritage tourism in 2000. This study intended to add the expertise factor to developed HISTOQUAL. It surveyed 504 tourists who visited Kyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul. The result of analysis on tourism service factors to satisfaction showed significant effect. And the influence of satisfaction to revisit and recommendation also show significant effect.

  • In these days, tourism contents development has been continuously increases due to the appearance of online contents generation, development of cultural contents industry and the spreads of leisure life among the ordinary people's life and it needs more significant research and development for the tourism product's varieties. Story telling means that the explanation or interpretation of tour guide or guide book of the tourist spots, they role as important pull factor which can determine the image of tourism destination. And it make tourist discover the identification its own specific contents. The purpose of this study is on to examine methods tourism contents development through storytelling.

  • Due to the high level of economic development, the standard of living has improved vastly. As a result, the moderns now want to be healthy more than ever. For that reason, tourism relating health care increased in number and at those tourist sites, people have tried to allure more visitors by services, resources and facilities all accommodating to better health. On a claim that promoting tourist attractions using health care assists regional development in this study, I seek for ways to utilize regional resources and facilities to promote tourism.

The Effects of Store Attributes on Customer Equity of Dongdaemun Shopping Malls - Focusing on Dongdaemun Shopping Mall Types - (동대문 쇼핑몰 선택속성이 고객자산에 미치는 영향 - 동대문 쇼핑몰의 유형을 중심으로 -)

  • Domestic and foreign tourism authorities show that the most favorite tourist activity is shopping. Tourism income in Korea set a record in 2014 due to a large influx of Chinese tourists. Dongdaemun fashion market was selected as the most preferred destination for Chinese tourists shopping in Korea. This study examines the effect of store attributes on customer equity at Dongdaemun shopping malls. This study adopted a survey; subsequently, 637 questionnaires were used in the final analysis. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 18.0 statistics program. The main findings of this study are as follows. Among the three store attributes of Dongdaemun shopping malls, service and environment attributes appeared to influence the three drivers of consumer equity. In addition, value equity was identified to provide a positive impact on Customer Lifetime Value (CLV), brand equity, and relationship equity were identified as having a positive impact on revisit intention. Second, the relationships between the variables were significantly different in two types of the Dongdaemun fashion shopping mall (Doota vs Lotte Fitin). In addition, this study offers a valuable implication for brand marketers to maintain and develop customer equity in Dongdaemun fashion markets.
