Totally Umbilical Slant Lightlike Submanifolds of Indefinite Kaehler Manifolds

  • In this paper, we study totally umbilical slant lightlike submanifolds of indefinite Kaehler manifolds. We prove that there do not exist totally umbilical proper slant lightlike submanifolds in indefinite Kaehler manifolds other than totally geodesic proper slant lightlike submanifolds. We also prove that there do not exist totally umbilical proper slant lightlike submanifolds of indefinite Kaehler space forms. Finally, we give a characterization theorem on minimal slant lightlike submanifolds.

  • This article introduces the structure of GCR-lightlike submanifolds of an indefinite Kaehler statistical manifold and derives their geometric properties. The characterizations on totally geodesic, mixed geodesic, D-geodesic and D'-geodesic GCR-lightlike submanifolds have also been obtained.

  • In this article, we study the relations of horizontally homothetic harmonic morphisms with the stability of totally geodesic submanifolds. Let $\varphi:(M^n,g)\rightarrow(N^m,h)$ be a horizontally homothetic harmonic morphism from a Riemannian manifold into a Riemannian manifold of non-positive sectional curvature and let T be the tensor measuring minimality or totally geodesics of fibers of $\varphi$. We prove that if T is parallel and the horizontal distribution is integrable, then for any totally geodesic submanifold P in N, the inverse set, $\varphi^{-1}$(P), is volume-stable in M. In case that P is a totally geodesic hypersurface the condition on the curvature can be weakened to Ricci curvature.

  • The object of the present paper is to study certain geometrical properties of the submanifolds of generalized Sasakian space-forms. We deduce some results related to the invariant and anti-invariant slant submanifolds of the generalized Sasakian spaceforms. Finally, we study the properties of the sectional curvature, totally geodesic and umbilical submanifolds of the generalized Sasakian space-forms. To prove the existence of almost semiinvariant and anti-invariant submanifolds, we provide the non-trivial examples.

  • Let ${\varphi}\;:\;(M^n,\;F)\;{\rightarrow}\;(\overline{M}^{n+p},\;\overline{F})$ be an isometric immersion from a Finsler manifold to a Finsler manifold. In this paper, we shall obtain the Gauss and Codazzi equations with respect to the Chern connection on submanifolds M, by which we prove that if M is a weakly totally geodesic submanifold of $\overline{M}$, then flag curvature of M equals flag curvature of $\overline{M}$.

  • In this paper, we construct two types of non-tangential half lightlike submanifolds of a semi-Riemannian manifold admitting a semi-symmetric non-metric connection. Our main result is to prove several characterization theorems for each types of such half lightlike submanifolds equipped with totally geodesic screen distributions.

  • The object of the present paper is to study the invariant submanifolds of (LCS)n-manifolds. We study generalized quasi-conformally semi-parallel and 2-semiparallel invariant submanifolds of (LCS)n-manifolds and showed their existence by a non-trivial example. Among other it is shown that an invariant submanifold of a (LCS)n-manifold is totally geodesic if the second fundamental form is any one of (i) symmetric, (ii) recurrent, (iii) pseudo symmetric, (iv) almost pseudo symmetric and (v) weakly pseudo symmetric.

  • In this paper the decomposition of basic equations of $(LCS)_n$-manifolds is carried out into horizontal and vertical projections. Further, we study the integrability of the distributions $D,D{\oplus}[{\xi}]$ and $D^{\perp}$ totally geodesic of semi-invariant submanifolds of $(LCS)_n$-manifold.

  • Subminifolds of Euclidean spaces have been studied by examining geodesics of the submanifolds viewed as curves of the ambient Euclidean spaces ([3], [7], [8], [9]). K.Sakamoto ([7]) studied submanifolds of Euclidean space whose geodesics are plane curves, which were called submanifolds with planar geodesics. And he completely calssified such submanifolds as either Blaschke manifolds or totally geodesic submanifolds. We now ask the following: If there is a point p of the given submanifold in Euclidean space such that every geodesic of the submanifold passing through p is a plane curve, how much can we say about the submanifold\ulcorner In the present paper, we study submanifolds of euclicean space with such property.

  • We introduce and study quasi hemi-slant submanifolds of almost contact metric manifolds (especially, cosymplectic manifolds) and validate its existence by providing some non-trivial examples. Necessary and sufficient conditions for integrability of distributions, which are involved in the definition of quasi hemi-slant submanifolds of cosymplectic manifolds, are obtained. Also, we investigate the necessary and sufficient conditions for quasi hemi-slant submanifolds of cosymplectic manifolds to be totally geodesic and study the geometry of foliations determined by the distributions.
