  • The objective of this study was to evaluate spatio-temporal water shortage distribution in the Sapgyo catchment considering both permitted and non-permitted water rights obtained from the total water right survey conducted in 2010. The results showed that the agricultural water accounted for 98% of the total water uses with 83% being the non-permitted agricultural water uses. During the 11-year (2001~2011) simulation period, water shortage was shown only in the upper Gokgyo stream sub-catchment with the highest water stress from April to May in 2009, particularly because of the large demand for rice cultivation associated with low precipitation. As water shortage was not expected to happen when the permitted water rights were not considered, it was concluded that a proper management of non-permitted water rights would be urgent.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate i) the current state of washing knowledge and washing habits ii) the effect of washing behaviors on washing satisfaction. A survey questionnaire was developed and implemented to married women in their 30's or 40's. A total of 210 responses were analyzed by frequency analysis, t-test and ANOVA with PASW18.0. The results are as follows. First, the ways in which women do the laundry was analyzed. Married women in their 30s and 40s usually do the laundry at home and are familiar with washing symbols and do not rely on common sense. Most of them like to rely on the washing machine guidelines for detergent concentration and use the right amount for environmental protection. They also adjust the washing machine setting effectively considering laundry time, water temperature and care label. Second, the groups divided by demographic variables showed meaningful results about washing knowledge. Particularly, there is no significant difference on washing knowledge between housewives and career women. Third, the groups divided by the levels of washing habits showed suggestive results about washing satisfaction. The groups who have correct washing habits generally a indicated high degree of washing satisfaction. Finally, marketing implications for the businesses of laundry, laundromat and the manufacturers of washing machine are suggested.

  • This study was conducted on October 23, 2020 at the Cheongpyeong Reservoir located in Seorakmyeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, and analyzed the horizontal and vertical distribution patterns of fish based on data obtained using fishfinder. The total surface area of fishfinder survey conducted was 782,853 m2, and where the water depth (WD) ranges from 10 m to 12 m is widest which 31.7% of total surface area. As a result of the heat map analysis, fish density was highest at right bank under the Gapyeong-bridge, but there was no specific pattern in horizontal distribution of fish. As a result of vertical distribution of fish analysis, 86.6% of fishes are observed at below 6 m of the fish depth (FD, distance from water surface to fish). As a result of the relative height (RH, water depth-distance from bottom to fish ratio) analysis, there was a tendency that fishes are distributed in near surface area more as the WD increased. This tendency could have various reasons such as water temperature gradient along the water depth, and further studies are required for detailed explanation.
