This paper presents direction for efficient software education. Due to the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the whole world is interested in software education. However, simply teaching how to code is not software education. The thinking abilities used in coding for software implementation are even more important. Therefore, computational thinking is getting great attention. Several institutions suggest factors for computational thinking and encourage to teach in a relevant way based on the suggestion. In this study, the verification of the factors they suggested was conducted through a questionnaire. The total of 419 freshman students of the College of Social Sciences who were taking "Computational Thinking and Software Coding" class participated in the survey at the beginning and the end of the semester. We first analyzed Wing's proposal that summarized the concept of computational thinking, and reviewed the proposal of ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) for defining computational thinking factors for coding education, also checked on the suggestion of Google for factors necessary for software coding. As a result of research analysis, this paper suggests a direction for efficient software education.
This exploratory study investigated the software programs utilized by clinical dietitians and their perceptions on the use of information technology. The study focused on the use of specialized software for dietetics, general software for any office use and the Internet. A self-administered survey was used to collect data from clinical dietitians identified in the Kentucky Dietetic Association Directory 2003-2004. The survey was conducted in March through April, 2004. A total of 22 responses were collected, which yielded a response rate of $68\%$. Findings suggest that computer use has become a routine for optimal clinical practice ; major specialized software programs are used for nutrition assessment, nutrition analysis and menu development. Use of specialized software appears to be unassociated with dietitians' age and years of experience ; however, the associations are indicated between use of specialized software and education level as well as their specialty ; word processing and spreadsheet are the major general software used. Internet is used mainly for information search and communication. Respondents perceived that overall work efficiency and productivity significantly increased with computer use. The complexity of software is the major barrier encountered so training is the most needed support by the department. Strategic promotion on the use of specialized software should be targeted to the management team of the hospitals/facilities.
Since the cost of software maintenance occupies about 50~75% in a general successful organization, the software maintenance plays an important role in software life cycle. In particular, if the managed system needs to be operated in a long term or the system is very large and complex, then the maintenance is especially more important. Software maintenance is defined as software modification activities after customer delivery, such as improvement of performance or functionality, error correction, adaptation to environmental changes, etc. In this paper, software cost estimation models are proposed, that is based on productivity of manpower in maintenance projects. In order to do this, the activities of maintenance are classified into function change, non-function change, user support and application operation. The proposed models are constructed and verified based on the real size and cost information of projects in the real world. The approach in this paper is to discriminate the heterogeneous activities in maintenance projects, and then to calculate the respective cost of each discriminated activity. By using the proposed models, the total cost of maintenance project is summed from the costs of four activities. In addition the number of conflicts between owner and order receiver about the amount of cost will be reduced and the reasonable cost estimation system will be established.
In this paper, make a study decision problem called an optimal release policies after testing a software system in development phase and transfer it to the user. When correcting or modifying the software, finite failure non-homogeneous Poisson process model, considering learning factor, presented and propose release policies of the life distribution, log linear type model which used to an area of reliability because of various shape and scale parameter. In this paper, discuss optimal software release policies which minimize a total average software cost of development and maintenance under the constraint of satisfying a software reliability requirement. In a numerical example, the parameters estimation using maximum likelihood estimation of failure time data, make out estimating software optimal release time.

In this paper, a software policy considering testing time and the number of errors corrected is presented. The software is tested until a specified testing time or the time to a specified number of errors are corrected, whichever comes first. The model includes the cost of error correction and software testing during the testing time, and the cost of error correction during operation. It is assumed that the length of software life cycle has no bounds, and the error correction follows an non-homogeneous Poisson process. An expression for the total cost under the policy is derived. It is shown that the model includes the previous models as special cases.
It is of great practical interest to deciding when to stop testing a software system in development phase and transfer it to the user. This decision problem called an optimal release policies. In this paper, because of the possibility of introducing new faults when correcting or modifying the software, we were researched release comparative policies which based on infinite failure NHPP model and types of interval failure times. The policies which minimize a total average software cost of development and maintenance under the constraint of satisfying a software reliability requirement can optimal software release times. In a numerical example, applied data which were patterns, if intensity function constant or increasing, decreasing, estimated software optimal release time.

This study investigated the awareness and utilisation of library software by undergraduate students in universities in South-west Nigeria. The descriptive research design of the ex post facto was adopted using a sample of 1,527 selected from the total population of 239,048 undergraduate students in the universities. A questionnaire was used to collect the data. The finding of the study revealed that the extent of utilisation of library software by undergraduate students was high. Also, the majority of undergraduate students utilised library software in the university libraries between two to three times a week. Similarly, the findings show that awareness had an influence on the utilisation of library software by undergraduate students in the universities (r = 0.563, N = 1333, P < 0.05). The study concluded that awareness influenced the utilisation of library software by undergraduate students in universities. The study, therefore, recommends that the importance of the awareness of library software should be emphasized in the library to enhance its utilisation by the students in the university libraries.

This paper presents techniques for evaluation and compensation of total measuring errors in a commercial CMM. The probe errors as well as the machine geometric errors are assessed from probing of the mechanical artefacts such as shpere, step, and rings. For the error compensation, the integrated volumetric error equations are considered, including the probe error adn the machine geometric error. The error compensation is performed on the absolute scale coordinate system, in order to overcome the redundant degree of freedom in the CMM with multi-axis probe. A interface box and corresponding software driver are developed for data intercepting/correction between the machine controller and machine, thus the volumetric errors can be compensated in real time with minimum interference to the operating software and hardware of a commercial CMM. The developed system applied to a practical CMM installed on the shop floor, and demonstrated its performance.

A software tool implementing cascaded SCF (Switched Capacitor Filter) is developed. A comprehensive procedure is described for the design of cascaded SCF, and some design considerations are discussed. In program several user-selectable filter approximation techniques, and two optimising methods which reduce the total capacitance are included. Analysis of the partial positive feedback and the effect of clock frequency to total capacitance are presented in detail. Two pratical examples are given to prove its validity in reducing the total capacitance. Developed tool can be used for general SCF generator.

In order to increase the survivability of combatant ship, measuring and analyzing the infrared radiation is important. Consequently, providing analysis report is also important for the progress of the new combatant ship design. This paper proposes a design and software implementation of filtering for the noise reduction of mid-wave IR camera image. We reduced the total test cost by using the suggested software filtering technique instead of hardware replacement or re-calibration. In addition, we enhanced the accuracy of analysis results by adjusting the parameters of software filtering according to the results of filtered image.
