가열과 비가열 처리를 통한 액젓의 이화학적 특성 (Characteristics of Salt Fermented Anchovies with Heat Treatment)

  • This study was conducted to understand the quality characteristics of salt fermented anchovies with heat treatment by measuring their chemical compositions. The heat-treated and non-heat treated salt fermented anchovies contained, respectively, 63.21 and 66.51% of moisture, 2.24 and 2.12% of total nitrogen (TN), and 1,537 and 1,520 mg/100 g of amino nitrogen (AN). In addition, heat-treated and non-heat-treated salt fermented anchovies contained 127 and 134 mg/100 g of volatile basic nitrogen (VBN), respectively. Moreover, measured the microbial level of heat-treated and non-heat-treated salt fermented anchovies was $2.58{\times}10^4$ and $3.61{\times}10^2$ CFU/mL, respectively. Also, the heat-treated and non-heat-treated salt fermented anchovies 3.65 and 0.30 units of protease activities, respectively. The total free amino acid contents in heat-treated and non-heat-treated salt fermented anchovies was 4,964 and 6,638 mg/100 g, respectively. The major free amino acid were glutamic acid, leucine, lysine, alanine, valine, isoleucine. Our results provide the characteristics of salt fermented anchovies and encourage their application for the food industry and cooking.

우리나라 공공하수처리시설의 방류수 수질현황 분석을 통한 겨울철 방류수수질기준의 적정성 평가 (Evaluation of Korean Water Quality Standards in Winter by Characteristics and Statistical Analyses of the Effluent Water Quality at the Sewage Treatment Plants in Korea)

  • In this study, from 2004 to 2008 influents and discharging effluents from 241 municipal public sewage treatment plants were surveyed. Statistics including average, Coefficient of Variation (CV) and Coefficient of Reliability (COR) for each season, time series analysis for removal efficiency and water quality of effluents, and a comparison of the effluent standards in Korea and other countries were presented. The average concentrations of TN and TP in influents. during winter season were 32.6 and 3.78 mg/L and during other season were 30.8 and 3.61 mg/L in 2008, respectively. The average TN concentration on the basis of the maximum monthly concentrations in the effluents during winter season ranged from 14.2~17.4 mg/L and during other season ranged from 12.2~14.8 mg/L. The TP concentration in the effluents depending on the each season was no big difference. TN removal efficiency decreased from Jan. to Feb. and TP removal efficiency decreased in Jan., Jun and July. Maximum COR during winter season were 0.61 but the COR for TN and TP during other season ranged from 0.96~1.48 and 1.09~1.81, respectively, due to big difference in the standard for TN and TP in effluents depending on the season. TN and TP standards for effluent of sewage treatment during winter season in Korea was much higher than those in other countries. Therefore the lower effluent standards during winter season is essential for the water quality improvement.

Deleterious Effects of Hyperoxemic Extracorporeal Circulation during Cardiovascular Surgery

  • Although extracorporeal circulation (ECC) has been routinely used for cardiovascular surgery, hyperoxemia during ECC may produce oxygen toxicity and cellular injury. This study was performed to investigate the clinical influences of hyperoxemic ECC during cardiovascular operation. 40 adult patients scheduled for elective cardiovascular surgery were classified into normoxemic (arterial oxygen tension: 115 mmHg, n=20) and hyperoxemic (arterial oxygen tension: 380 mmHg, n=20) ECC. At preoperative and postoperative period, total leukocyte and neutrophil counts, platelet counts, iron, glucose, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and creatinine in peripheral arterial blood, malondialdehyde (MDA) and troponin-T concentration (TnT) in coronary sinus blood, pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR), and postoperative blood loss volume (BLS) were measured and compared between groups. Hyperoxemic group had postoperatively higher total leukocyte and neutrophil counts, MDA, TnT, PVR total BLS, iron, glucose, AST, ALT, BUN, and creatinine than normoxemic group (p<0.05).0 conclusion, hyperoxemic ECC results in greater inflammatory response and oxidative damaging effects on the heart lung, liver and kidney, probably being adverse to postoperative patient recovery. For reducing these deleterious effects and improving postoperative outcomes, management lowering oxygen tension during ECC is recommended.

산성토양에서 석회와 인산시용이 Alfalfa의 생장 및 질소고정에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Lime and Phosphate Applications on Growth and Nitrogen Fixation of Alfalfa in Acid Soil)

  • 본 시험은 석회(0, 250, 500, 1,000kg/10a)와 인산(0, 17, 34kg/10a) 시용이 alfalfa(Medicago sativa L.)의 생장 및 질소고정에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위해 전남대학교 농과대학내 온실에서 pot로 수행되었다. 파종후 9과에 alfalfa의 지상부와 지하부의 건물중 및 아세틸렌 환원력에 있어서 석회 및 인산시용효과가 나타났으며(p<0.05). 파종후 14과(개화초기)에는 alfalfa의 지상부와 지하부의 건물중에 있어서 석회시용 효과는 인정되지 않았으나 인산시용이 증가함에 따라서 건물중은 증가하였다(p<0.01). 또한 석회 및 인산시용이 증가함에 따라서 아세틸렌 환원력은 유의적으로 증가하였다(p<0.05). 파종후 9과에서 전 질소함량은 석회 및 인산 시용구에서 무시용구보다 감소되었으며(p<0.05), 파종후 14과에서는 석회 시용구는 무시용구보다 전 질소함량이 증가되었으나 인산 시용구는 무시용구 보다 낮아지는 경향을 보였다(p<0.05).

센서 및 지능형 알고리즘 기반 총 질소 농도 예측 연구 (A study on the prediction of total nitrogen concentration based on sensors and intelligent algorithms)

  • 수질모니터링은 수자원 보존과 공중 보건에 있어 매우 중요하다. 기후변화로 인한 이상강우와 산업화 등의 이유로 비점오염물질 및 오염원 배출량이 증가하여 하천과 호소에 영양염류가 증가하게 된다. 영얌염류의 증가로 하천에 부영양화 상태가 지속된다면 녹조발생 등으로 인해 생태계에 부정적 영향을 초래하게 된다. 또한 부영양화는 원수의 유기물량 증가로 인해 처리비용 증가, 이취미 문제 등 인간에게도 직접적인 문제를 유발한다. 특히 우리나라의 경우 하천 취수율이 높은 국가이며, 낙동강 중상류 지역에는 산업시설이 과도하게 밀집되어 있어 하천에 오염물질 유입이 되어 부영양화가 된다면 심각한 문제를 유발하게 된다. TN은 부영양화의 중요한 지표다. 우리나라의 TN 측정은 시료 채수 후 실험실에서 수질오염공정 시험기준에 따라 진행이 된다. 실험실 분석은 TN 농도를 분석하는 일반적인 방법이며, 정확한 검출 및 정량화를 목표로 한다. 하지만 이러한 방식은 정교한 장비를 갖춘 전문 실험실 및 전문 인력을 필요로 한다. 환경부에서 주요 하천에 수질측정망을 설치하여 수질현황에 대한 종합적인 조사를 통해 수질변화 추세를 파악하는 것이 가능하지만, 실시간 TN 농도를 감지하는데 매우 제한적이다. 현재 조사방식은 TN 농도 증가로 인한 문제에 대해 초기대응을 하기에는 한계가 있다. 최근 센서의 발전으로 다양한 항목을 신속하고 지속적으로 모니터링 할 수 있게 되었다. TN에 대한 직접적인 센서 모니터링은 불가능 하지만 여러 측정 항목이 TN과 상관관계가 있는 것이 여러 연구에서 입증되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 오염도가 높은 낙동강을 대상으로 TN 예측에 대한 기초 연구를 진행하였다. 과거 측정된 자료를 활용하여 센서로 측정 가능한 항목을 통해 TN 예측을 진행하며, 실제 활용을 위해 회귀식을 도출하고자 한다. 최근 환경부에서 실시간 수질 현황 및 오염도를 파악하기 위해 자동측정망 지점을 늘리는 추세인데, 본 연구의 결과를 활용한다면 실시간 TN 예측에 대한 기초자료 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Improving Fermentation and Nutritive Quality of Napiergrass Silage by Mixing with Phasey Bean

  • To improve the low content of crude protein and low quality fermentation of napiergrass silage, ensiling with phasey bean was examined. Napiergrasses, (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Merkeron), hybrid napiergrass (Pennisetum purpureum${\times}$ Pennisetum typhoides) and phasey bean (Macroptilium lathyroides cv. Murray) were cultivated in Fukuoka, Japan. The first growth of napiergrasses and phasey bean were harvested at 90 days of age and chopped into about 1 cm lengths. The mixing levels of phasey bean with napiergrasses were 0, 25, 50 and 75; 700 g of plant materials were ensiled into a laboratory silo (1.0 litre. polyethylene container) and incubated for 30 days. After opening silos, pH, total nitrogen (TN), volatile basic nitrogen (VBN) and organic acids (lactic acid: LA, acetic acid: AA, butyric acid: BA) were determined. The experiment was a factorial design of $2{\times}4$ with 3 replicates. The data were analyzed statistically by two-way analysis of variance. Without inclusion of phasey bean, lower quality was observed for hybrid silage than for Merkeron silage. The inclusion of phasey bean at the rate of 25% increased DM and TN, and decreased pH value, VBN/TN, AA and BA in both Merkeron and hybrid napiergrass silages. The value of pH, TN, VBN/TN, AA and BA were not significantly different among 25, 50 and 75% mixing levels of phasey bean. LA production increased significantly with the increase in phasey bean mixing level in both hybrid and Merkeron silages. At all mixing levels of phasey bean, LA production did not show significant differences between Merkeron and hybrid silages.

하천수를 정화하는 갈대습지의 개수부에 의한 질소제거 비교 (Comparison of Nitrogen Removal in Reed Wetlands with and Without Open Water Purifying Effluent from a Treatment Pond)

  • Nitrate($NO_3-N$) and total nitrogen(TN) removal by a reed wetland with open water(Wetland 1) was compared with that of a reed wetland without open water(Wetland 2) from March to October 2002. The two wetlands were 25mL by 6mW. An open water area, 3mL by 6mW was designed at the middle of Wetland 1. Reeds(Phragmites australis) were transplanted into the wetlands in June 2000. Water of Sinyang Stream flowing into the Kohung Estuarine Lake located in the southern part of Korea was pumped into a primary treatment pond, whose effluent was discharged into the secondary pond. Effluent from the secondary pond was funneled into the wetlands. Inflow into the wetlands averaged about 20.0$m^3$/day and their hydraulic retention time was approximately 1.5 days. Average $NO_3-N$ removal by Wetland 1 was 117.61mg/$m^2{\cdot}day$ and that by Wetland 2 was 106.39mg/$m^2{\cdot}day$. $NO_3-N$ removal efficiency of Wetland 1 and 2 was 37% and 34%, respectively. TN removal by Wetlands 1 and 2 averaged 226.80 and 214.54mg/$m^2{\cdot}day$, respectively. TN abatement efficiency of Wetland 1 was 43% and that of Wetland 2 was 40%. $NO_3-N$ removal efficiency of Wetland 1 was significantly higher(p=0.038) than Wetland 2. TN removal efficiency of Wetland 1 was also significantly higher(p=0.044) than Wetland 2. The wetland with open water was more efficient for removal of $NO_3-N$ and TN than one without.

하천유역에서의 기저유출 분석을 통한 총질소 하천오염부하량 연구 (A Study of Total Nitrogen Pollutant Load through Baseflow Analysis at the Watershed)

  • It has been well known that it is not easy to quantify pollutant loads driven by non-point source pollution due to various factors affecting generation and transport mechanism of it. Especially pollutant loads through baseflow have been investigated by limited number of researchers. Thus in this study, the Web-based WAPLE (WHAT-Pollutant Load Estimation) system was developed and applied at study watersheds to quantify baseflow contribution of pollutant. In YbB watershed, baseflow contribution with WWTP discharge is responsible for 49.5% of total pollutant loads at the watershed. Among these, pollutant loads through baseflow (excluding any WWTP discharge) is responsible for 61.7% of it. In GbA watershed, it was found that 58.4% is contributed by baseflow with WWTP discharge 2.9% and 97.1% is by baseflow. For NbB watershed (without WWTP discharge), 52.3% of pollutant load is transported through baseflow. As shown in this study, it was found that over 50.0% of TN (Total Nitrogen) pollutant loads are contributed by non-direct runoff. Thus pollutant loads contributed by baseflow and WWTP discharge as well as direct runoff contribution should be quantified to develop and implement watershed-specific Best Management Practices during dry period.

농촌 소유역 유출수의 오염물질 농도특성 (Characteristics of Pollutant Concentrations in Runoff Water from a Small Rural Watershed)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate characteristics of concentrations of pollutants such as TN (Total Nitrogen), TP (Total Phosphorus) and COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) in outflow from a nonpoint source dominated watershed ($6.7km^2$). Regular flow measurement and water sampling were taken at five-day intervals during two years (February 2002 to January 2004) in the Ingyeong River, a tributary of the Han River. The mean concentrations of pollutants during rainy days were significantly (p<0.05) higher than those during dry days. For dry days, the flow-weighted mean concentration (0.06 mg/L) of TP during paddy irrigation periods were higher than that (0.02 mg/L) during non-irrigation periods. The seasonal mean concentration of TN was highest in spring likely due to nitrogen fertilization, but those of TP and COD were highest in summer due to particulate phosphorus and sediment-associated organic matter caused by increased discharge. The pollutant concentrations significantly increased with discharge, suggesting that the measures to reduce the increase in the concentrations during storms are needed to control nonpoint source pollution.

수환경 내 용존성 유기물질의 총 유기탄소 및 총 질소 안정동위원소 신규 분석법 소개 (Introduction of a New Method for Total Organic Carbon and Total Nitrogen Stable Isotope Analysis of Dissolved Organic Matter in Aquatic Environments)

  • 본 연구는 TOC/TN-IRMS를 이용하여 총 유기탄소 및 총 질소 안정동위원소 분석법을 연구하였으며, 수환경 중저농도 시료에서도 분석이 가능하게 시스템을 구축하였다. 수생태계로 유입되는 다양한 유기탄소 기원을 파악하기 위하여 형광지표와 δ13C-DOC 안정동위원소비를 활용한다면 효율적인 수질 관리를 위한 해석기능을 제공할 것이며, 추후 유역 오염원의 대표값(end member)의 지속적인 조사를 통하여 자료구축이 이루어져야 할 것이다.
