  • In this paper, approximate means of estimating the flux and torque levels in an induction motor is discussed. There exists several method that is used directly by flux meter and flux sensing coils in the airgap. Most of these methods are sensitive to motor parameter value changes. Also, the harmonics in the motor voltage and current due to the nonsinusodial inverter waveform cause errors in the estimated torque. Finally, this result is applicated in arch type linear induction motor for study of noise and vibration.

열차 추진제어장치의 알고리즘에 관한 연구 (A Study of Control Algorithm for Propulsion System)

  • In this paper, control schemes are developed for a propulsion system(Converter/Inverter) in electrical train. A robust controller for PWM converter is proposed. The converter controller consists of a PI controller for DC output voltage and a current controller using error-space approach for maintaining the sinusoidal current waveform and unity power factor. This proposed method is based on characteristic ratio assignment(CRA) method which has the advantage to design the optimal gain to meet the referenced response and overshoot within the limit range. Inverter system is controlled by vector control and slip frequency control. At low speed region, vector control scheme is applied to control instantaneous torque and slip frequency control is performed under overmodulation region and one pulse mode. Because output voltage of converter contains harmonics ripple at twice input ac line frequency, control scheme is developed to reduce the pulsating torque current. The performance of propulsion system will be verified by simulation and prototype experimental results.

  • This paper deals with Wound Rotor Synchronous Motor (WRSM) purposely designed for Integrated Starter and Generator (ISG) installed in 42V automotive electrical system. Not only design objective and specifications of WRSM, but its adaptive design to minimize torque ripple and back-EMF Total Harmonics Distortion (THD) are considered. Furthermore, design characteristics of designed prototype have been investigated numerically in terms of torque, back EMF, loss, and efficiency, which are verified by performance comparison with Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine based on Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

  • In this paper, the voltage control is applied to the adjustable speed operation of BLDC motor with the trapezoidal back emf waveform. Torque chrateristics of BLDC are investigated through Fourier analysis when the pulse width modulation inverter is applied. Also, this paper consisders the theoretical problem of eliminating some harmonic components in inverter output waveforms, which, in turn, allows to remove some ripple components. Numerical technique is applied to solve the transcendental equations of the problem by the computer.

  • In this paper, two different plusewidth modulation(PWM) for inverter and voltage control technique are described. Inverter output harmonics are harmful in induction motor drive because it lead to ripple torque and induction interference. In order to reduce or minimize losses, various forms of PWM strategy such as PM(Positive Modulation) and NM(Negative Modulation) are discussed.

  • This paper introduces the ship propulsion system in different aspects. In fact there are many types to accomplish electric propulsion. The latest installations are based on fixed generator speed and motor speed control. The AC motor drive systems with synchroconverter cycloconverter PWM converter are chosen for the ship electric propulsion. The configurations of the ship electric propulsion. The configurationso of the ship electric propulsion system must be considered about following criteria : torque and speed performances redundancy cost harmonics available space and shape. This paper introduces possible configurations of the ship electric propulsion and the major and minor points.

  • Current Source Inverter(CSI) operated in square wave mode is more efficient than the PWM CSI because of increased cost greater complexity of control algorithm, and substantial switching losses EMI. But the square wave output current of CSI rich in low order harmonics produce motor torque ripples. Therefore in this paper describes the active power filters for square wave current compensation of current source induction motor. Also extended current synchronous detection(ECSD) as compensation algorithm is proposed. To confirm the validity o proposed system some simulation results are presented and discussed.

  • This paper proposes the hybrid PWM scheme that can obtain less harmonic characteristics in GTO inverters. By employing the variable of the dc-link voltage Vdc, the hybrid PWM pattern can ideally compensate the dc input fluctuation together with selected harmonics elimination. The transient behavior, which the magnetic flux and torque are altered and the large current flows instantly, may be produced when the mode change. To reduce such an undesirable transient behavior, it is also presented the technique for the gear changing of inverter operated with the hybrid PWM. The results are verified by simulations and experiments.

  • This paper present increasing of Power density of slotless PMLSM by inserting core between phase winding. PM width is changed and PM is divided into two part to reduce and eliminate high order space harmonics affecting torque ripple. Flux density, back EMF, inductance, thrust, normal and detent force are computed by 2D FEM, and analysis values are compared with each other.

  • This study investigates the design factors of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(IPMSM) which is applied to Hybrid electric vehicle as a driving power. Recently, there are many studies of IPMSM for application to Hybrid Electric Vehicle, because IPMSM has characteristics of high torque, high power density and high efficiency which come from reluctance torque due to difference of inductance as well as magnet torque. This study analyzes the inductance and design characteristics of IPMSM by using finite element method and focuses on design and analysis of IPMSM which can operates with high efficiency at low speed range. For this embodiment, magnet shape is changed from conventional block type to arc type without any change of outline dimension of motor and this change of magnet shape makes it possible to increase back EMF and sinusoidal waveform. Analysis results are verified by test of improved and embodied motor. As a test result , increased back EMF and sharply decrease of harmonics are secured and through this contribution of reduced fuel consumption of Hybrid electric vehicle is expected.
