  • The spherical motor is an electric machine which is able to tilt its shaft on 3-dimensional space as using electromagnetic force. Recently a permanent magnet is remarkable material for applying electric machinery, because of high magnetic flux density. In this paper, a spherical motor, which has permanent magnet on its rotor, is researched. As known, the spherical motor has a special feature as 3 degrees of freedom (D.O.F) operation. This performance can be realized by using electromagnetic torque between coils and magnets. Therefore, in this paper, a permanent magnet spherical wheel motor is introduced and performance characteristics are analyzed for improving of operation stability.

  • This paper analyzed the static torque of SRM according to the variation of airgap length using Finite Element Method. The normal and tangential components of flux density are analyzed at uniform airgap field which sap length is 0.3[mm] and nonuniform airgap which gap lengths are 0.2-0.4[mm] and 0.4-0.2[mm]. Also their static torques were simulated by using Virtual Work Principle. We expect that their parameters will help for the design of Switched Reluctance Motor.

  • In this paper, approximate means of estimating the flux and torque levels in an induction motor is discussed. There exists several method that is used directly by flux meter and flux sensing coils in the airgap. Most of these methods are sensitive to motor parameter value changes. Also, the harmonics in the motor voltage and current due to the nonsinusodial inverter waveform cause errors in the estimated torque. Finally, this result is applicated in arch type linear induction motor for study of noise and vibration.

  • In this paper, the characteristics of IPMSM(Interior-type Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) are simulated using 2-D. finite element method. This paper deals with the following characteristics : air gap flux density considering skew, back e.m.f., torque and inductance. Back e.m.f. is calculated using the flux obtained from the vector potential of FEM solution. Torque is calculated using improved Maxwell stress tensor method and current angle which is obtained from the controller. Direct axis inductance and quadrature axis inductance are also calculated using energy perturbation method. Computed results are found in satisfactory agreement with experimental ones. This method also can be applied for the computation and analysis of the characteristics of SPMSM, current-excited synchronous motor and reluctance motor.

  • The space harmonic analysis, as an analytical method, is used to estimate the flux distribution in the air gap of the brushless motors in this paper. With the flux distribution, back-emf and torque characteristics can be estimated.[1-7] Therefore, the air gap flux distribution of surface type permanent magnet motor according to the motor specifications are studied to estimate the torque characteristics in this paper. To validate the analysis result of this method, 2-dimensional finite element analysis is performed and the air gap flux density is compared to that from space harmonic analysis.

Fault-Tolerant Control of Five-Phase Induction Motor Under Single-Phase Open

  • This paper deals with fault-tolerant control of five-phase induction motor (IM) drives under single-phase open. By exploiting a decoupled model for five-phase IM under fault, the indirect field-oriented control ensures that electromagnetic torque oscillations are reduced by particular magnitude ratio currents. The control techniques are developed by the third harmonic current injection, in order to improve electromagnetic torque density. Furthermore, Proportional Resonant (PR) regulator is adopted to realize excellent current tracking performance in the phase frame, compared with Proportional Integral (PI) and hysteresis regulators. The analysis and experimental results confirm the validity of fault-tolerant control under single-phase open.

A Study on the Stem Coefficient of Friction of Motor- operated Gate/Globe halves

  • Stem-stem nut coefficient of friction(COF) in motor-operated gate/globe valves is one of the important factors which determine the performance of the valve/actuators. The COF is affected greatly by the type and condition of the stem-stem nut lubricants, environmental parameters, surface condition of the stem/stem-nuts, and the number of strokes after the lubrication. In this paper, the measured data of the COFs at stem threads of some safety-related motor-operated gate/globe valves in domestic nuclear power plants are presented. In addition, the performance of the lubricants is evaluated by comparing the COFs among those valves. The results show that the measured COF at torque switch trip are higher than the unwedging COF and conservatively applicable to the unwedging COF. It is also shown that the lubricating performance based on the measured COFs varies with the lubricants.

골다공증이 있는 상완골 골두의 파일럿 홀 (Pilot Hole)과 흡수성 나사못의 크기에 따른 토크 (Torque)와 뽑힘 강도 (Pullout Strength) 간의 관계 (Relationship Between Insertion Torque, and Pullout Strength Depending on the Size of the Pilot Hole and Biodegradable Suture Anchor in Osteoporotic Humeral Head)

  • 목적: 본 연구의 목적은 골다공증이 있는 회전근개 파열 환자에서 상완골 골두에 표준 크기 (5.0 mm) 보다 작은 송곳 (awl) (3.7 mm 나사못용)을 사용해서 5.0 mm 나사못을 삽입하는 것이 표준 크기의 송곳과 6.5 mm 나사못을 삽입하는 것에 비해 토크 (torque)나 뽑힘 강도(pullout strength)에서 차이가 있는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 방부 처리된 12명, 24개의 짝지은 사체 견관절을 A군와 B군, 두 군으로 나누어 관심 부위의 골밀도를 측정한 후에 A군에서는 5.0 mm 나사못 삽입을 위해 3.7 mm 송곳 (awl)을 이용하는 경우를 A1군, 5.0 mm 나사못 삽입을 위해 5.0 mm 송곳을 이용하는 경우를 A2군으로 하였다. B군에서는 5.0 mm 송곳을 이용하여 5.0 mm 나사못을 삽입하는 경우를 B1군, 6.5 mm 나사못을 삽입하는 경우를 B2군으로 하여 나사못 삽입 시의 토크와 뽑힘 강도를 측정하였다. 결과: 골밀도는 A군과 B군 간이나 군내에 차이가 없었다. 토크는 A1군이 A2군보다 각각 20.6 $cN{\cdot}m$와 13.2 $cN{\cdot}m$로 유의한 차이를 보였고 (p<0.001), B1군과 B2군에서도 각각 12.1 $cN{\cdot}m$와 20.8 $cN{\cdot}m$로 유의한 차이를 보였다 (p<0.001). 그러나 증가된 정도의 차이는 유의하지 않았다. A1군과 A2군의 뽑힘 강도는 각각 204.2 N과 152.9 N으로 유의한 차이를 보였고 (p<0.001), B1군과 B2군에서도 149.5 N과 210.9 N으로 유의한 차이를 보였다 (p<0.001). 그러나 증가된 정도의 차이는 유의하지 않았다. 결론: 송곳 크기보다 큰 치수의 나사못을 사용하면, 같은 크기의 송곳과 나사못을 사용하는 경우 토크나 뽑힘 강도가 유의하게 증가하였다. 그러나 증가된 정도는 큰 송곳과 작은 송곳 간에 차이가 유의하지 않았다. 따라서 대결절의 footprint 내에 나사못과 나사못 사이의 거리가 충분하지 않은 경우에 5.0 mm 송곳을 이용하여 6.5 mm 나사못을 삽입하는 대신 3.7 mm 송곳을 이용하여 5.0 mm 나사못을 삽입해도 증가되는 뽑힘 강도는 차이가 없을 것으로 생각한다.

V-벨트 무단변속기(無斷變速機)를 이용(利用)한 자탈형(自脫型) 콤바인의 주행속도(走行速度) 제어(制御)(I) (A Forward Speed Control of Head-feed Combine Using Continuously Variable V-belt Transmission -Combine Load Characteristics-)

  • This study was carried out to obtain the information needed in the development of forward speed control system and the improvement of combine performance. The effects of variety, grain moisture content and forward speed on the combine load characteristics were investigated through experiments. The results of this study are summarized as follows. 1. A data acquisition system was developed to measure the engine speed and the torques and speeds of the threshing cylinder, dean-grain auger and tailings-return auger. The system consisted of transducers, signal conditioner, interface board and microcomputer. The system accuracy is better than ${\pm}2.3%$ full scale. 2. Linear regression equations were obtained for the torque, speed and power requirement of threshing cylinder for different paddy varieties, grain moisture contents and feed rates. 3. The maximum value of relative frequency for threshing cylinder torque decreased as the increase in feed rate and moisture content. The range of torque fluctuation was 1.2~3.7 and 1.2~1.9 times the average and maximum torque, respectively. The maximum value of power spectrum density (PSD) appeared to be about 11 Hz regardless of paddy variety, grain moisture content and feed rate. 4. The speed of tailings return thrower decreased rapidly at below 900rpm, and it fell to near zero about 3 seconds after that time. When the travelling of combine harvester was stopped immediately after sensing the overload, it took about 7 seconds for a full recovery of the no-load speed of tailings return thrower.

반응표면분석법을 이용한 영구자석의 형상 및 특성에 따른 매입형 영구자석 동기기의 최적 설계 (Optimal Design of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines Consideration of Magnet BH Characteristic with Different Rotor Type using Response Surface Methodology)

  • Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines (IPMSMs) with rare earth magnet are widely used in electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles. IPMSMs having high efficiency, high torque, and a wide speed range are employed in propulsion system. And the rotor in an IPMSM is generally made of a rare earth magnet to achieve a large energy product and high torque. This paper discusses issues regarding design and performance of IPMSMs using different factors of BH magnetic characteristic. It is necessary to choose factors of magnetic material according to permanent magnet shape in rotor for high performance. Response Surface Methodology (RSM) is selected to obtain factors of magnetic material according to variety of rotor shapes. The RSM is a collection of mathematical and statistical techniques useful for the analysis of problems in which a response of interest in influenced by several variables and the objective is to optimize response. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the torque characteristics of an IPMSM having magnet BH hysteresis curve with different rotor shape. Factors of residual flux density (Br) factor and intrinsic coercive force (Hc) are important parameters in RSM for rotor shape. The rotor shapes for IPMSMs having magnet BH characteristic were investigated using the RSM, and three shapes were analyzed in detail using FEA. The results lead to design consequence of IPMSMs in the various rare earth magnet materials.
