This study attempts to analyze the consumers' preference on Korean Red Ginseng Tonic, which is an essential product to revitalize Korean ginseng industry, using choice experiment method. The attributes used in the choice experiment were the ginseng age, good agricultural products(GAP), sugar, and price. A total of 1,796 experiments were collected and the value of each preferred attributes was estimated using a multinomial logistic model. The result shows that the products made from six-year-old and GAP(Good Agriculture Practice) approved Korean ginseng with less sugar were preferred. These estimated monetary values of marginal willingness to pay were about 94,000 KRW, 89,000 KRW, 5,000 KRW, respectively. Thus, the efforts to introduce and advertize GAP approved ginseng while developing new products with preferred attributes by general publics are necessary in the short run. In addition, we may need to consider developing the way to promote products using 4- and 5-year-old ginsengs, which are relatively underestimated in their health effectiveness but highly productive for farmers in the long run.

Reactive oxygen species are highly reactive oxidant molecules and react with cellular components, causing oxidative damages. These damages may play a significant role in the causation of several chronic diseases. Antioxidative defence systems are present in the body to protect cells from oxidative damages. The first line of defence include dietary antioxidants and enzymes such as superoxide dismutase. Cynanchum wilfordii Hemeseley has been used for centuries as a tonic nutraceutical in China and Korea. Two young women were brought to the Emergency room with generalized tonic and clonic seizures. Seizure developed seven and ten days after delivery respectively without the clinical signs of pre-eclampsia throughout the pregnancies. Magnetic resonance(MR) image of the brain showed characteristically symmetrical abnormal signals in the parietal and occipital regions. After several days of medical treatment, they were discharged without neurologic sequelae and follow-up MR images taken three months after discharge showed complete disappearance of the previous abnormal signals.

The fruiting body of Ganoderma lucidum (Polyporaceae) is one of the valuable crude drugs, which has been used clinically in Korea, China, and Japan for a long time as a tonic and sedative, and for the treatment of hepatopathy, chronic hepatitis, nephritis, gastric ulcer, hypertension, arthritis, neurasthenia, insomnia, asthma, and poisoning and chronic bronchitis. Nowadays, this mushroom is used for leukopenia and paid much attention as a home remedy. (omitted)

Acanthopanax koreanum Nakai (Araliaceae) is a indigenous medicinal plant growing throughout Jeju-Do in Korea. The plant extract is used in rheumatism, tonic, paralysis and sedative agent. From the roots of A. koreanum, lignan compounds, a diterpenoid, and a polyacetylene compound were isolated and their structures were elucidated by using IR, PMR, CMR and MS spectral data.

'Ssangwha-Tang,' which have known as a tonic and restorative preparation in Korean traditional medicines, was shown to have signification antiinflammatory activity in the edema-induced carrageenin inflammation of rats, and also indicated remarkable preventive effect to chronic arthritis model in rat induced by Freund's complete adjuvant method.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of apparel purchase motivation in the sense of tonic activation. 746 female apparel consumers answered the questions about the apparel purchase motivation, apparel purchase behavior; frequency of apparel purchase and monthly clothing budget, and demographic variables. There were three factors in the apparel purchase motivation; preference of apparel shopping, priority of apparel purchase to other purchase to other products, interest in clothing. Apparel purchase motivation affected apparel purchase behavior especially in thee monthly clothing budget. Demographic variables such as age, income, education level, job status, and marital status affected apparel purchase motivation.

본 논문에서는 현재 Jazz에서 사용되어지는 화성기법을 Pat Metheny의 작품인 “Question & Answer”를 통해서 알아보았다. D Minor Pentatonic Scale이 선율에 주로 사용된 본 작품은 Intro부분에서는 Quater Voicing이 사용되었다. A 부분에서는 Line Cliche와 D Minor Scale과 D Harmonic Minor Scale의 Diatonic Chord를 사용하였지만 A Aeolian Mode적인 기법이 A부분 셋 번째 단에서 사용되어 Modal적인 분위기도 연출 하였으며 B부분에서는 John Coltrane이 자주 사용하였던 3 Tonic 기법이 사용되면서 동질의 화성이 일정간격으로 움직이는 Constant Structure기법도 사용되었다.

Cerebellar atrophy was found that a patient was taking oral phenytoin for 3 years. 53 years old female patient with General tonic clonic(GTC) type seizure was prescribed phenytoin. In the process, she developed ataxic gate, dysarthria. Brain magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) finding was revealed differential diagnosis cerebellar atrophy. She was prescribed epileptol instead of phenytoin. But leukopenia, thrombocytopenia occurred. As a result, phenytoin restarted. Development of medical state decreased abuse of anticonvulsants. Considering various convulsive disorders, we must give attention to using anticonvulsants.
