  • In this paper, we propose a PC based distributed controller for a two axis convey table using real-time micro-kernel. PC, Windows program, gives an easy way to implement wealthy GUI and micro-kernel, ${\mu}$C/OS-II, provides a real-time capability to control devices. We built a real-time distributed control system using ${\mu}$C/OS-II kernel which needs to process the tasks for two motors within the desired time to synchronize the motion. We used both semaphore and message mail box for synchronization. Unlike the previous study where we used step motors for the actuator of two axes convey table, we rebuilt the convey table with DC motors and the dedicated position servo which had built in out lab, and then we implemented a realtime distributed control system by putting the micro-kernel into between PC and position servo. Moreover we developed the PC based graphic user interfaces for generating planar drawing image control. Experimental results also presented to show the Proposed control system is useful.

  • Digital twin has the advantages of quality improvement and cost reduction, so it is widely applied to various industries. In this paper, a method to implement the major technologies of digital twin easily and quickly is presented. These include data management and relay servers, real-time monitoring applications including remote control interfaces, and direct connection protocols for video streaming. In addition, an algorithm for controlling a two-wheeled vehicle with a 2D interface is also proposed. The implemented system performs near real-time synchronization between the real environment and the virtual space. The delay time that occurs in remote control of the vehicle in the real environment was compared with the results of applying the proposed delay time reduction method. In addition, in the case of 2D interface-based control, an algorithm that can guarantee the user experience was implemented and applied to the actual environment and verified through experiments.

  • The objectives of this study were to test the efficacy of induction of estrus and determine the timing of ovulation in relation to preovulatory LH and estrogen surges in cycling Murrah buffaloes subjected to Heatsynch protocol (GnRH-$PGF_2{\alpha}$-Estradiol benzoate). In experiment 1, the buffaloes (n = 10) were treated with Heatsynch protocol and observed for estrus and ovulation. In experiment 2 and 3, 30 cycling Murrah buffaloes were used to investigate the efficacy of Heatsynch protocol in terms of conception rates in summer (experiment 2) and winter (experiment 3) seasons. Fixed time A.I. was performed in all the buffaloes at 48 and 60 h post-estradiol benzoate (EB) injection. All buffaloes responded to the Heatsynch protocol with expression of estrus for which ovulations were induced in 8 buffaloes (80%). Mean time interval from the EB injection to ovulation was 50.0${\pm}$2.0 h (range 44.0 to 60.0 h). The interval from the end of LH surge to ovulation was 18.5${\pm}$2.47 h (range 8 to 26 h). The interval from end of estrogen surge to ovulation was 26.75 ${\pm}$2.07 h (range 22 to 36 h). Mean LH peak after EB injection occurred at 20.81${\pm}$1.61 h (range 14 to 28 h) and mean estrogen peak after EB injection occurred at 9.62${\pm}$1.03 h (range 7 to 16 h). Hence, the mean estrogen peak preceded the mean LH peak by 11 h. It was observed that the percentage of conceptions to total number of estruses for control buffaloes was 18 and 30 in summer and winter, respectively, whereas it increased to 26 and 40 in Heatsynch treated buffaloes in respective seasons. The results suggest the possibility of using Heatsynch treatment followed by fixed time A.I. in buffaloes for fertility improvement, especially since the incidence of silent heat in buffaloes is very high.

  • This experiment was conducted to find out the time to farrowing induction after PGF2$\alpha$ treatment, the rate of farrowing induction, the effect of kids born by the induced farrowing on birth weight and development with study on artificial control of parturition in Korean native goats. A total of 24 pluriparous goats were offered for this experiment. The animals were divided into 4 goats per treatment by administration time(142, 145 or 148 day of pregnancy) and dosage (5 or 7.5mg). The results obtained in this experiments were as follows : 1. The effect of synchronization of estrus was induced 23 goats(95.1%), 16 goats(66.6%) in the 1st treatment and 7 goats(28.5%) in the 2nd treatment PGF2$\alpha$ and exhibited estrus at a mean interval of 75$\pm$5 hours after PGF2$\alpha$ injection. 2. The time to farrowing induction after PGF2$\alpha$ treatment on day 145 or 148 was significantly(P<0.01) shorter than that of the 5mg treatment, but there was no significant difference(P>0.01). 3. Parturition was induced in all goats(100%) treated 5 or 7.5mg of PGF2$\alpha$ on day 148 and 7.5mg of PGF2$\alpha$ on day 145, but was induced 75% in treatment with 5mg of PGF2$\alpha$ on day 145 and 5 or 7.5mg of F2$\alpha$ on day 142. 4. The birth weight and development of kids induced farrowing was heaviest (P<0.01) on days 148 among treatment, but there was no significant difference in dosage.

  • The concept of a hyperpresmtation, as an extension of a hypermedia, is the presentation in which time-varying multimedia presentations are dynamically linked together and a hyperlink's context can be changed over time at any time during a continuous presentation. Problems caused by integrating the hyperpresentation into an existing multimedia system which handles a sequential presentation only are, how to describe the hyperprcsentation, how to set up a hyperlink on a continuous media, and how to check the consistency of the synchronized presentations. In this paper. a new synchronization description method for the hyperpresentation and a method for setting a hyper link on a continuous media during" presentation are proposed after havin!; SHrvey of existing methods, The proposed method deals with only the DC value in a stream ut a DCT based compressed data for checking a condition of te link. Finally, the method for checking the consistency of mixed presentations before actual play of the hnlerpresentation is described. Proposed methods are implemented on MuX(Multimedia IO Server) where a sample scenario is tested.

  • This paper proposes a method to provide the high quality 3D broadcasting service in a mobile broadcasting system. In this method, audio and video data are delivered through a heterogeneous network, consisting of a mobile network as well as a broadcasting network, due to the limited bandwidth of the broadcasting system. However, it is more difficult to synchronize the left and right video frames of a 3D stereoscopic service, which come through different types of networks. The proposed method suggests the use of the offset from the initial timestamp of RTP (Real Time Protocol) to determine the order of frames and to find the pair of a left and a right frame that must be played at the same time. Additionally, a new signaling method is introduced for a mobile device to request a 3D service and to get the initial RTP timestamp.

  • This paper presents a performance analysis of the GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver on board in LEO satellites, based on the comparison of its in-orbit performances and corresponding ground test results. An extensive ground tests on the subject GPS receiver has been performed in diverse conditions under the right frame of ground test environments and the analysis of in-orbit performances has also been performed with the huge amount of accumulated GPS data which has been in operation for 6 years since its launch on 2006. For this analysis, we chose three sets of in-orbit data; the data during the early mission period, the data at the 3-year mission completion time, and the most recent in-orbit data. As the performance measures, we selected the position and time synchronization accuracy, and the comparative analysis shows the concurrency between the in-orbit performances and the ground test results with in these performance measures, verifying the validity of the ground test. It is expected that the test configuration and analysis method presented in this paper can be applied to developing and verifying the future Koreanized satellite GPS receivers.

  • The structural state of a bridge is currently examined by visual inspection or by wired sensor techniques, which are relatively expensive, vulnerable to inclement conditions, and time consuming to undertake. In contrast, wireless sensor networks are easy to deploy and flexible in application so that the network can adjust to the individual structure. Different sensing techniques have been used with such networks, but the acoustic emission technique has rarely been utilized. With the use of acoustic emission (AE) techniques it is possible to detect internal structural damage, from cracks propagating during the routine use of a structure, e.g. breakage of prestressing wires. To date, AE data analysis techniques are not appropriate for the requirements of a wireless network due to the very exact time synchronization needed between multiple sensors, and power consumption issues. To unleash the power of the acoustic emission technique on large, extended structures, recording and local analysis techniques need better algorithms to handle and reduce the immense amount of data generated. Preliminary results from utilizing a new concept called Acoustic Emission Array Processing to locally reduce data to information are presented. Results show that the azimuthal location of a seismic source can be successfully identified, using an array of six to eight poor-quality AE sensors arranged in a circular array approximately 200 mm in diameter. AE beamforming only requires very fine time synchronization of the sensors within a single array, relative timing between sensors of $1{\mu}s$ can easily be performed by a single Mote servicing the array. The method concentrates the essence of six to eight extended waveforms into a single value to be sent through the wireless network, resulting in power savings by avoiding extended radio transmission.

  • Multimedia presentations are a class of documents that are used for lectures, tour guides, business presentations, and in many other applications. These presentations comprise multimedia objects with a temporal structure that specifies when objects are to be delivered, for what duration, and what the temporal relationships among objects are. In this paper, we propose temporal extensions to XHTML that allow seamless integration of synchronized multimedia into web documents. The extensions are based on three concepts:(i) XHTML+TIME (in short, Xtime) links for temporal composition, (ii) common time bases for close synchronization between media objects, and (iii) dynamic layout for specifying regions of a screen for presentation. Also, we will show a flexible execution architecture to support these concepts in a multimedia presentation.
