  • We selected horse mackerel Trachurus japonicus, mackerel Scomber japonicus and arrow squid Todarodes pacificus, to use in the experiment. These fishes migrate to the Cheju coast and were caught by set-net. We studied the leading effect on the fish schools using the attracting lamps in an outdoor water tank at the Marine Research Institute in Cheju National University. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. The attracting rate of fish schools was increasing as the time between switching on and off each lamp was getting longer when each of the attracting lamps was switched on and off in order. However, the attracting rate of mackerel school showed a tendency to be higher than that of the other two species. 2. The attracting rate of fish schools was increasing as the time of switching off the lamps was getting longer when the attracting lamps which had been switched on were switched off in order. However, the attracting rate of mackerel school showed a tendency to be higher than that of the other two species. 3. The attracting rate of fish schools was decreasing as the speed of moving the attracting lamp was getting faster when the attracting lamp was moving. However, the attracting rate of mackerel school showed a tendency be higher than that of the other two species. 4. To determine the distance between the attracting lamps, there would be two methods. One is switching on and off the attracting lamps in order, and the other is switching off the attracting lamps in order which had been switched on. The methods showed that the attracting rate of fish schools were decreasing as the distance between the attracting lamps were getting longer. However, the attracting rate of mackerel school showed a tendency to be higher than that of the other two species.

  • Although non-real time simulation and pilot based evaluations are available for the development of flight control computer prior to real flight tests, there are still many risky factors. The control law designed for prototype aircraft often leads to degraded performance from the initial design objectives, therefore, the proper evaluation methods should be applied such that flight control law designed can be verified in real flight environment. The one proposed in this paper is IFS(In-Flight Simulator). Currently, this system has been implemented into the F-18 HARV(High Angle of Attack Research Vehicle), SU-27 and F-16 VISTA(Variable stability. In flight Simulation Test Aircraft) programs. This paper addresses the concept of switching mechanism for FLCC(Flight Control Computer)-SWMC(Switching Mechanism Computer) using 1553B communication based on flight control law of advanced supersonic trainer. And, the fader logic of TFS(Transient Free Switch) and stand-by mode of reset '0' type are designed to reduce abrupt transient and minimize the integrator effect in pitch axis control law. It hans been turned out from the pilot evaluation in real time that the aircraft is controllable during the inter-conversion process through the flight control computer, and level 1 handling qualities are guaranteed. In addition, flight safety is maintained with an acceptable transient response during aggressive maneuver performed in severe flight conditions.

Hybrid Type Structure Design and DLT-Replacement Circuit of the High-Speed Frequency Synthesizer (고속 스위칭 동작의 주파수 합성기를 위한 하이브리드형 구조 설계와 DLT 대체 회로 연구)

  • The conventional PLL(phase locked loop) frequency synthesizer takes a long switching time because of the inherent closed-loop structure. The digital hybrid PLL(DH-PLL) which includes the open-loop structure into the conventional PLL synthesizer has been studied to overcome this demerit. It operates in high speed, but the hardware complexity and power consumption are the serious problem because the DLT(digital look-up table) is usually implemented by the ROM which contains the transfer characteristic of VCO(voltage controlled oscillator). This paper proposes a new DH-PLL using a very simple DLT-replacement digital logic instead of the complex ROM-type DLT. Also, a timing synchronization circuit for the very small over-shoot and shorter settling time is designed for the ultra fast switching speed at every frequency synthesis. The hardware complexity gets decreased to about $28\%,$ as compared with the conventional DH-PLL. The high speed switching characteristic of the frequency synthesis process can be verified by the computer simulation and the circuit implementation.

  • A new dead time compensation method using time delay control approach is presented. The dead time in switching pattern cause the voltage distortion and it can be considered as the disturbance voltage. In this paper the disturbance voltage is estimated using time delay control and the estimated disturbance voltage is summed with voltage command in predictive current control by a feed-forward. The proposed scheme is implemented on a PMSM and the effectiveness is verified through comparative simulation.

  • Optical bounce which occurs by over twist of the liquid crystal (LC) director has a problem of response time in fringe-field switching (FFS) modes. After removing the electric field, effective birefringence ($d{\Delta}n_{eff}$) at the edge of pixel electrode meets the $\lambda/2$ phase instantly, since tilt angle of LC directors at that position suddenly decreases compared to twist angle. In this paper, based on the careful analysis, origin of optical bounce has been explained.

  • In this paper, we consider the wireless-powered backscatter communication which consists of a power beacon, a source, a relay, and a destination. For the proposed wireless-powered backscatter communication, the source transmits its signals to both the relay and the destination via a backscattering channel and the relay which has a rechargeable battery performs an energy harvesting as well as an information forwarding based on the time switching relay (TSR) protocol. Based on the decode-and-forward (DF) relay transmission, we investigate performances of the proposed system in terms of outage probability and transmission rate in which the exact performance analysis of outage probability is given. Finally, some numerical examples are given to verify our provided analytical results for different system conditions.

A Shared Library as an Active Memory Object for Application Software Development of Large Scale Real-time Systems (대형 실시간 시스템의 응용 소프트웨어 개발을 위한 능동적 메로리 개체로서의 공유 라이브러리)

  • In this paper, we present a novel approach named a shared library as an active memory object for application software development of large-scale real-time systems. Unlike the general passive shared memory, shared library proposed in this paper can be activated as an execution object. Moreover this is not tightly coupled with application programs unlike the normal libraries. To implement this mechanism, operating system makes the shared memory as an active object and shared library realizes the indirect call structure. This mechanism enhanced the utilization of main memory and communication performance. And this is successfully applied to the HANbit ACE ATM switching system and the TDX-10 switching system.

  • In this paper, we present mSROS(Micro-Scalable Realtime Operating System) to be applied commonly to the device controller systems in the HANbit ACE256 system. The device controller systems in HANbit ACE256 system are organized as many kinds of device controller. Applying modified PPOS(Peripheral Processor Operating System)which is an operating system for devices of the TDX-10 switching system to the firmwares for them, the inefficiency in development and maintenance exists inherently. To remove the inefficiency nd to improve the performqance of firmwares, we build a common operating system platform that including multi-tasking microkernel so that the firmwares among devices can acquire convenient development and cheap cost of maintencance. Especially, building a virtual machine as a development methodology, it is possible to remove dependency from the kernel so that any kinds of commercial real-time kernels can be used in mSROS as a basic kernel. The virtual machine in mSROS is compatible with the API of SROS(Scalable Realtime Operating System), PPOS, and CROS(Concurrent Realtime Operating System).

  • High frequency switching converters are becoming more popular because of several benefits which are essential in power conversion system. This paper introduces a high speed digital controller using TMS320C40 DSP chip which can be used for high frequency switching converters and demonstrates its performance by operating three-phase PWM AC/DC converter with unity power factor at 20kHz sampling frequency. TMS320C40 DSP chip operates with 40-ns instruction cycle times and is capable of 275 MOPS. The running time of real time control loop at the three-phase PWM AC/DC converter is $44.6{\mu}sec$.
