음성 신호를 이용한 시간지연 추정에 미치는 영향들에 관한 연구 (Factors for Speech Signal Time Delay Estimation)

  • Since it needs the light computational load and small database, sound source localization method using time delay of arrival(TDOA method) is applied at many research fields such as a robot auditory system, teleconferencing and so on. Researches for time delay estimation, which is the most important thing of TDOA method, had been studied broadly. However studies about factors for time delay estimation are insufficient, especially in case of real environment application. In 1997, Brandstein and Silverman announced that performance of time delay estimation deteriorates as reverberant time of room increases. Even though reverberant time of room is same, performance of estimation is different as the specific part of signals. In order to know that reason, we studied and analyzed the factors for time delay estimation using speech signal and room impulse response. In result, we can know that performance of time delay estimation is changed by different R/D ratio and signal characteristics in spite of same reverberant time. Also, we define the performance index(PI) to show a similar tendency to R/D ratio, and propose the method to improve the performance of time delay estimation with PI.

  • We reviewed controllers with a time delay estimation in this paper. Time delay control (TDC) and sliding mode control (SMC) are well known robust control schemes. Basically, the TDC has a main characteristic called a time delay estimation from which we can estimate the total uncertainty of a system. . The TDC causes the stick-slip in the case of systems with a friction. The so-called TDCSA which are short for TDC with switching action was developed to reduce the stick-slip. The TDC has the additional switching action term in the TDC structure. In the other hand, the SMC dose not have a time delay estimation but instead it can estimate the system uncertainty through the switching action. The SMC has a difficulty to estimate the total uncertainty of a system because it does not have a time delay estimation. In order to solve the difficulty, some control schemes were developed. Among them, we need to focus our attention on two control schemes: SMCPE and SMCTE, which are short for sliding mode control with a perturbation estimation and sliding mode control with a time delay estimation, respectively. In this paper, we analyzed and compared the characteristic of above three controllers. Even though the motives for the development of three control schemes are different, three control schemes have much in common in terms of their controller structures.

강결합방식의 GPS/INS 시스템에 대한 측정치 시간지연 추정 연구 (A Study on the Measurement Time-Delay Estimation of Tightly-Coupled GPS/INS system)

  • In this paper we study the performance of the measurement time-delay estimation of tightly-coupled GPS/INS(Global positioning system/Inertial Navigation system) system. Generally, the heading error estimation performance of loosely-coupled GPS/INS system using GPS's Navigation Solution is poor. In the case of tightly-coupled GPS/INS system using pseudo-range and pseudo-range rate, the heading error estimation performance is better. However, the time-delay error on the measurement(pseudo-range rate) make the heading error estimation performance degraded. So that, we propose the time-delay model on the measurement and compose the time-delay estimator. And we confirm that the heading error estimation performance in the case of measurement time-delay existence is similar with the case of no-delay by Monte-Carlo simulation.

  • 본 논문에서는 실시간 위치 추적 시스템 (RTLS: real-time locating system)을 위한 ESPRIT 기반의 초 분해능 지연 시간 추정 (super-resolution time delay estimation) 알고리즘을 개발하고 여러 가지 다중 경로 환경에서 성능을 분석한다. 지연 시간 추정을 위한 기존의 코릴레이션 방식은 다중 경로들의 지연 시간의 차이가 한 칩 이내일 경우 성능이 급격히 저하되는 문제점이 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 대표적인 초 분해능 도래각 추정 알고리즘인 ESPRIT을 지연 시간 추정에 적용하여 주파수 영역 초 분해능 지연 시간 추정 알고리즘을 개발하고 여러 가지 다중 경로 환경에서 알고리즘의 성능을 분석한다.

  • This paper aims to estimate the delay time of multiple signals in a multi-path environment. It also seeks to carry out a comparative analysis with the existing delay time under the proposed algorithm to develop a new algorithm that applies the space average method in a MUSIC algorithm. Unlike the existing delay time estimation algorithm, the developed algorithm was able to estimate the delay time in 5ns low. Therefore, the algorithm proposed in this paper improved the existing delay time estimated algorithm.

  • 시간지연 추정 방법들에 대한 연구는 예전부터 활발히 진행되고 있다. 하지만 실제 환경에서 측정된 신호들을 이용하여 시간지연을 추정함에 있어 그 성능에 미치는 영향들에 대한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 1997 년에 Brandstein 과 Siverman 은 공간의 잔향 시간이 길어질수록 그 공간에서의 시간지연 추정 성능이 나빠짐을 모의 실험을 통해 밝혔다. 하지만 동일한 잔향시간을 갖는 공간에서 측정된 신호의 경우에도 시간 구간에 따라 추정 성능에 차이를 보이고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 시간지연 추정 성능에 미치는 영향들에 대해서 살펴보고, 그 원인들에 대해 분석하였다. 그 결과, 동일한 잔향시간을 갖는 공간에서 측정된 신호일지라도 시간 구간에 따라 R/D 비와 신호의 특성들이 다르기 때문에 추정 성능에 차이가 나타남을 알 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, the Automatic Tracking Window(ATW) algorithm is applied to the Generalized Cross-Correlation(GCC) time delay estimation algorithm as a preprocessing. The Linear Prediction(LP) algorithm, which is a pararmetric spectral estimation algorithm, is applied to the time delay estimation. And the ATW, a preprocessing algorithm is applied to this algorithm too. This paper shows that the ATW algorithm attenuates the sidelobes very much and improves the resolution of the timedelay estimation.

Time-Delay Estimation in the Multi-Path Channel based on Maximum Likelihood Criterion

  • To locate an object accurately in the wireless sensor networks, the distance measure based on time-delay plays an important role. In this paper, we propose a maximum likelihood (ML) time-delay estimation algorithm in multi-path wireless propagation channel. We get the joint probability density function after sampling the frequency domain response of the multi-path channel, which could be obtained by the vector network analyzer. Based on the ML criterion, the time-delay values of different paths are estimated. Considering the ML function is non-linear with respect to the multi-path time-delays, we first obtain the coarse values of different paths using the subspace fitting algorithm, then take them as an initial point, and finally get the ML time-delay estimation values with the pattern searching optimization method. The simulation results show that although the ML estimation variance could not reach the Cramer-Rao lower bounds (CRLB), its performance is superior to that of subspace fitting algorithm, and could be seen as a fine algorithm.

  • Time Delay Control(TDC) is a robust nonlinear control scheme using Time Delay Estimation(TDE) and also has a simple structure. To apply TDC to a real system, we must design Time Delay Controller to guarantee stability. The earlier research stated sufficient stability condition of TDC for general plants. In that research, it was assumed that time delay is infinitely small. But, it is impossible to implement infinitely small time delay in a real system. So, in this research we propose a new sufficient stability condition of TDC for general plants with finite time delay. And the simulation results indicate that the previous sufficient stability condition does not work even for small time delay, while our proposed condition works well.
