  • In this paper the ball-on-disk type sliding tests with boundary lubricated steels were carried out to verify the relation between surface profiles and wear as well as scuffing. Three kinds of surface roughness and asperity radius were produced on AISI 1045 steels using the different processes of grinding and polishing. Frictional forces and time to scuffing were measured. Also, the shape and amount of wear particles were analyzed to compare with original profiles. From the tests, it was confirmed that the size of wear particles are very related to original surface profile. The time to failures and wear amounts were sensitive to the surface spacing. The large surface spacing shows much longer sliding life and smaller wear amount than the others. Time to scuffing was increased with increasing surface profile spacing. The sire of wear particles was increased and the amount was decreased with increasing surface profile spacing. Wear volume and wear rate K were decreased with increasing surface profile spacing. And after sliding tests, surface cracks of inner parts of the wear track occurred scuffing were observed and compared the differences about each specimen having the different surface profile spacing.

  • Under ubiquitous environment, recommendation system is using the collaborative filtering methods by quantifying context information, but insufficient context information can cause inaccurate recommendation result. In order to solve such problems, the researcher used context information and user's profile. But service history information in users' profiles can have the problems of being influenced by change of the user's taste or fashion as time passes by. In addition, context information and user's profile can't be properly inter-locked according to situation, which can cause inaccurate predictability. In this paper, in case a user's taste or fashion is changed as time passes by, the researcher didn't apply bundled-up value to the user's profile but applied different weight according to change of time. And the researcher could solve the problem that context information and a user's profile can't be properly inter-locked according to situation by applying different weight to the result gained by means of collaborative filtering and then by unifying it. In such ways, the researcher could improve predictability.

  • In this paper, we propose the effective exchange-method of a user profile for adapted contents services in the contents adaptation system. The profiles continuously exchange among the devices of contents adaption system for providing the adapted contents to a user. The profile should be also exchanged according to periodic, aperiodic, event, request and response. Consequently, a lot of network traffic occur and computing power require. Solving theses problem, the profile exchange research needs. we analyze creation information, exchange information, and exchange form of the profile information in contents adaptation system for effective profile exchange and define exchange procedure of the profile using the analyzed profile information. we also propose providing method of the profile configured information for decreasing profile processing time and user setting method for decreasing the number of profile transmission. As a result of performance evaluation, providing method of the profile configured information reduce 7% processing time and user setting method decrease the number of profile transmission are effective to exchange the profile.

  • This paper presents an real-time implementation of H.264/AVC High 4:4:4 Predictive profile decoder using general-purpose processors by exploiting multi-threading technique and Single Instruction Multiple Data (SIMD) instructions without any quality degradation. We analyze differences between the existing High profile and High 4:4:4 Predictive profile decoder, and show various optimization techniques to decode high fidelity and high definition (HD) video in real-time. Simulation results show that the proposed decoder can play high fidelity HD video at average 40 frames per seconds (fps) for the IBBrBP bistream and about 50 fps for the Intra-only bitstream.

  • The objective of this work was to research click profile of laminate flooring by comparison of click and bonding laminate floorings, especially base on the click profile shape, bonding strength and international patents. Non-glue locking system has been used since laminate flooring was developed. For the reason of environment and saving installation time, the manufacturer in Europe and USA has developed click profile for laminate flooring. Each manufacturer has patent on each click profile. Although each click profile has good lock strength as shape, Berryand Unilin company's click profile systems showed higher locking strength than others. Korean laminate flooring company pay the fee of patent for using European and American manufacturer's click profile. From this work, we grope Korean style laminate flooring and click profile through research on the click profile shape, bonding strength and patents of European and American manufacturers.

  • In this paper, a simple but effective position profile generation algorithm for single axis high dynamic linear machine drive system is presented. In the recent industrial application fields like as LCD/PDP and semiconductor factory, requirements for the high performance positioning system with optimal position profile generator are highly increased to reduce the overall processing time. There might be various solutions for position profile generating algorithm according to the application type. A square-wave Impact quantity(Jerk) based algorithm with minimal locomotion time is argued in this paper to minimize the total time of one movement under some specific constrains such as maximum speed limit and maximum acceleration limit. In order to reduce the calculation efforts and satisfy the minimal locomotion time condition, the time variants representing each profile sector and a simple condition comparison algorithm are adopted. Also, the actual implementation method for profile generation algorithm and it's real performance results are presented through commercial linear machine drive system.

  • In the manufacturing industry, various sensors are attached to monitor the status of production facility. In many cases, the data obtained through these sensors is time series data. In order to determine whether the status of the production facility is abnormal, the process of extracting patterns from time series data must be preceded. Also various methods for extracting patterns from time series data are studied. In this paper, we use matrix profile algorithm to extract patterns from the collected multivariate time series data. Through this, the pattern of multi sensor data currently being collected from the CNC machine is extracted.

  • In this paper, analytical study is performed to reduce residual vibration in seeking mode of optical pick-up. The conditions for acceleration adn deceleration time in trapezoidal velocity profile to reduce residual vibration are derived for undamped vibration system. To verify the validity of conditiosn two example studies are carried out. Numerical and experimental implementations for flexible arm system attached to moving part show that residual vibration is effectively reduced by calculated velocity profile. In addition, simulation study for optical pick-up reveals that by changing natural frequency to resonance frequency the conditions derived assuming undamped system can be applied to obtain velocity profile for minimum residual energy in damped vibration system.

  • In 2D-Profile machining using cutter radius compensation cutter interferences are very common. To prevent the cutter interferences undercuts are inevitable in some regions of the profile. The undercut regions require cleanup machining using smaller radius tools. This paper considers a procedure of the tool path generation for the cleanup profile machining. And two methods are introduced for an efficient tool path generation. One is how to reduce the machining time by uniting adjacent tool paths of undercut regions, and the other is how to find the tool path with the minimal distance by applying TSP algorithm.
