Aversion to wind is a feeling of cold when exposed to wind; aversion to cold is a feeling of cold. The distinction between aversion to wind and aversion to cold is ambiguous because in greater yang disease the two terms seem to be used indiscriminately. It is, however, worth noting that "aversion to wind" does not occur in the lines presenting disease of the three yin. In this text, we render as "heat effusion" rather than "fever," since the Chinese term is somewhat wider in meaning than familiar English term, Heat effusion is associated with many conditions and occurs both in externally contracted disease and miscellaneous disease (雜病), disease due to causes other than external evils). In externally contracted disease of the three yang channels, heat effusion is a manifestation of the struggle between right qi and evil qi; it does not necessarily indicate the presence of evil heat. In diseases of the three yin, right qi is not strong enough to counter evil qi; hence heat effusion is absent, and instead only aversion to cold is present. Sweating occurs in a variety of patterns. A distinction is made between spontaneous and night sweating(自汗). Spontaneous sweating is so called because it occurs spontaneously without exertion. it has numerous causes. Night sweating(盜汗) is sweating during sleep that ceases on awakening.
Objectives : Poststroke depression is a frequent and specific entity that impaires the rehabilliation and functional recovery of patients with hemiplegia. The author evaluated the effect of Banhahubak-tang(Banxiahoupotang) in patients with poststroke depression. Methods : 38 patients suffering from poststroke depression(determined by Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, revised. 3rd edition. and Beck Depression Inventory[BDI] cutoff $point{\geqq}10$) in Kyunghee Oriental hospital were randomized into two groups; treatment group(n=19) and control group(n=19). The treatment group was prescribed with Banhahubak-tang(Banxiahoupotang) three times a day fur a week. Control troop was prescribed with other herbal medicines used for stroke Patients three times a day for a week. Patients were evaluated by use of BDI scale, Modified Barthel Index, Depression of Ki score, Yin syndrome score, and Yang syndrome score. Among 38 patients, 24 patients got BDI scores above 21, which is the cut-off score for depression in Korean. The same procedures and assessments described above were applied. Results : Treatment group did not significantly improve compared with control group. Results yielded only slight significance (P=0.086). Especially. patients with poststroke depression as yin syndrome improved more significantly on BDI than those classified as yang syndrome. When BDI cutoff point for depression was defined as being ${\geq}\;21$, treatment group did not significantly improve compared with control group(P=0.114). However, patients with poststroke depression classified as yin syndrome were also significantly improved on BDI than those classified as yang syndrome. Conclusions : This study suggests that Banhahubak-tang(Banxiahoupotang) is significantly effective in patients with poststroke depression classified as yin syndrome.

So, as a subjet for nursing, a person should be understood with khijok kyoryu rather than with logical thinking, then mutual trust between the patient and the nurse can be established. The health of a person depends on the harmony of yang and yin. To be healthy, a person should consider harmonization with Nature(including his surroundings) as well as a balanced human relationships in society. Moreover, it is crucial for each person to obtain hoshim as a method of mind control rather than to only treat the symptoms of disease.
Among modern people's life-style, the lack of exercise and sleep is related to infertility. Underexercise accumulates damp-sputum, resulting in the insufficiency of essence. It also obstructs the creation of essence, leading to insufficient essence. Activities at night without sleep cannot create the condition to help the process of yin, causing the insufficiency of essence. Fast food is made from the cattle which are fed the feed containing growth hormone and antibiotics in large quantities. Growth hormone causes the process of yang excessively in human body, while antibiotic suppresses the process of yin, leading to excessive damp-heat and hyperactive ministerial fire. Antiseptic included in instant food hampers the process of fermentation, or yin, and inhibits the digestion mechanism, obstructing damp-heat and bringing about hyperactive ministerial fire. Intake of excessive flesh and meat gives rise to incomplete combustion and hinders the creation of essence, causing hyperactive ministerial fire due to the lack of yin. Milk suits the calf that has a rapid growth cycle. Milk intake by humans leads to the rapid process of yang and eventually hyperactivity of ministerial fire. The imbalance between yin and yang, with essence insufficent and ministerial fire hyperactive, causes infertility in three aspects. First, the lack of essence itself makes conception difficult. Secondly, damp-sputum resulting from ministerial fire obstructs the circulation of qi and blood. It also hampers the normal supply of qi and blood to the uterus. Thirdly, the excessive process of yang may result in infertility. Generally speaking, pregnancy starts with implantation. If the excessive process of yang is in progress in body, static condition needed for implantation cannot be maintained, leading to infertility.
Objectives : Understanding the Ten Stems and Twelve Branches is necessary to grasp the laws of change in Heaven and Earth. Methods : Based on relevant contents in East Asian classics, the Yin Yang, Sibling Wuxing, Husband-Wife Wuxing combinations as well as Mutual Collision and Zangfu combination were examined. Results & Conclusion : Yin Yang combination of the Ten Stems are divided according to odd/evenness. The Sibling Wuxing combination is categorized according to one life cycle of vegetation, resulting in Jia Yi Wood, Bing Ding Fire, Wu Ji Earth, Geng Xin Metal, Ren Gui Water. The Husband-Wife Wuxing combination of the Ten Stems are Jia Ji Earth, Yi Geng Metal, Bing Xin Water, Ding Ren Wood, Wu Gui Fire, which corresponds to the principles of the Duihuazuoyong Theory. Within the Husband-Wife Wuxing combination lies three principles which are Yin Yang combination, Mutual Restraining combination, and the Yang Stem restraining the Yin Stem. The Mutual Collision of the Ten Stems are Jia and Geng, Yi and Xin, Ren and Bing, Gui and Ding against each other. In matching Zangfu to the Ten Stems, Jia matches with Gallbladder, Yi matches with Liver; Bing matches with Small Intestine, Ding matches with Heart; Wu matches with Stomach, Ji matches with Spleen; Geng matches with Large Intestine, Xin matches with Lung; Ren matches with Bladder, Gui matches with Kidney. : When the adjacent vectors are extracted, the count-based word embedding method derives the main herbs that are frequently used in conjunction with each other. On the other hand, in the prediction-based word embedding method, the synonyms of the herbs were derived.
In the literatual study on the Ecthyma, the results were as follows. 1. The pathogenic factors of Ecthyma is divided three parts. In classification of the medical action, medicine of clearing away summer-heat and heat evil and activating blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis used to be very busy which in order to remove the disorder of vital energy for virulent heat-evil. 7. In classification of four characters, the most part is warm medicine, the next are cold and cool medicine and there is a few that is hot medicine. 8. In classification of five tastes, the most numerous tastes are bitter and acrid, the next are sweet, salty and sour tastes. 9. The conclusions after studying the rules and the principles of the six-drugs mixing forming the prescription of Yukmijihwanghuan(六味地黃丸) are as follows: 1. Yukmijihwanghuan cares for the three viscera; the liver, the spleen and the kidney and the three entrails; the urinary bladder, the gall bladder, and the stomach and it strengthens them as well. The drug can be used mainly for the cure of the Three Yang Channels of Foot and the Three Yin Channels of Foot. 2. The three drugs of Yukmijihwanghuan; Rehmanniae Radix, Dioscoreae Rhizoma, Corni Fructus altogether has the tonifying effect and the other three; Alismatis Rhizoma, Moutan Cortex, Poria has the purging effect. The first three kinds of drugs tonifies and the last three kinds of drugs purges. While these two groups of drugs are pitted against each other, they also balance each other harmoniously increasing the curative effect(remedial[curative] value). 3. Yukmijihwanghuan cools off the lung which is under metal category, helps the spleen, an earth category to be strong. It also adds the Water Qi to the kidney so that it stabilizes the Fire Qi. 4. Yukmijihwanghuan helps the kidney strongly, helps the urine to be excreted well, cools down the Fire Qi and makes dry things wet. 5. Rehmanniae Radix, the principal drug of Yukmijihwanghuan and Corni Fructus, the minister drug of the medicine have a taste of thick and are materially heavy. The two drugs do the descending action that it tonifies Yin Qi and adds Essence of Life. The other ingredients of Yukmijihwanghuan; Moutan Cortex, Poria, Alismatis Rhizoma have effects on lowering the Fire Qi. If Fire Qi descends, then Water Qi ascends. Objectives : A previous study demonstrated that the connecting points of three yang meridians attenuated changes of nNOS, and Norepinephrine(NE) in rats. The current study investigated the changes in nNOS, NO and NE upon the needle insertion at varying depths at the connecting point of three yin meridians of the hand. Methods : Needles were inserted into rats, on both left and right sides of the connecting point, including the LU7, HT5 and PC6 acupoints which are three yin meridians of the hand. After insertion, needles were retained for five minutes. Each acupuncture groups were treated acupuncture at each acupoint and at the depths of superficial, middle and deep layer. After the retention, blood was drawn via cardiac puncture, and tissues of each point near meridian vessel was extracted to examine the changes in the expression of nNOS, NO and NE. Results : Compared with the superficial layer group, nNOS production significantly decreased in the middle and deep layer at LU7 acupoint group and in the deep layer at HT5, PC6 acupoint group. The tissue NE decreased in the deep layer on PC6 acupoint and the plasma NE increased at the middle layer at LU7 acupoint group but decreased at the deep layer on at LU7 acupoint group. Conclusions : Acupuncture at connecting points of three yin meridians of the hand can regulate the activities of nNOS, and NE.
In mathematics a prime number is the natural number that has no positive factors other than 1 and itself. As natural numbers greater than 1 can be factored characterized by prime numbers, identities of a culture could be understood if its cultural phenomena are analyzed through cultural prime numbers(CPN). It is not easy to resolve cultural phenomena into CPN and analyze them through CPN due to complexities of culture. Though it is difficult, however, it is not impossible. For CPN keeps relative independence in the context of history and thought. We call 2, 3 and 5 as CPN: 2 is representative of Yin and Yang theory, 3 of Three Principles theory, and 5 of Five Elements theory. We argue that the Ten Celestial Stems and the Twelve Earthly Branches, the core principles in the oriental tradition, could be factored by the CPN. Analyzing Sil-Hah Woo's arguments, we discuss that the CNP 3 achieved more qualitative valuation than the others in Korean culture.
This study aims to analyze visual structure by evaluating the view from five building sites around An-ap pond, and attempt to determine which site commands the best view and will provide the most active use. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: According to the questionnaire survey of experts on the relations of dominancy-subordination(´chu-jong´), vacancy-solidness(´heo-sil´), sparsity-density(´so-mil´) based on ancient oriental Yin-Yang theory and analysis of visual structure on angle of elevation, depression, and the landscape-component ratio to be seen through five building sites around the west of An-ap pond, building site three was selected as the building site which has the best landscape. Therefore, it is estimated that building site three played the role of core-building site. According to the result of correlation analysis, the greater the increased in the component ratio of sky, mountain ,the greater the degree of harmony within the landscape. As well, the degree of harmony increased when the landscape component ratio of a distant view was greater than that of a near view. Moreover, it was proved that the relationships of ´chu-jong´, ´heo-sil´, ´so-mil´ are correlative, not independent.
