  • Digital holographic microscopy allows optical path difference measurement. Optical path difference depends on the both refractive index and morphology of sample. We developed a dual-wavelength in-line digital holographic microscope that can measure simultaneously the refractive index and morphology of a sample, providing highly precise three-dimensional information. Here we propose theoretical and experimental methods for dual-wavelength in-line digital holographic microscopy. The measured data were reasonable, although there was data error. By improving the experimental method, we could measure the refractive index more precisely and obtain more accurate three-dimensional information on samples.

  • Double outlet right ventricle (DORV) is a relatively common congenital heart disease in which both great arteries are connected completely or predominantly to the morphologic RV. Unlike other congenital heart diseases, DORV demonstrates various anatomic and hemodynamic subtypes, mimicking ventricular septal defect, tetralogy of Fallot, transposition of the great arteries, and functional single ventricle. Because different surgical strategies are applied to different subtypes of DORV with ventricular septal defects, a detailed assessment of intracardiac anatomy should be performed preoperatively. Due to high spatial and contrast resolutions, cardiac CT can provide an accurate characterization of various intracardiac morphologic features of DORV. In this pictorial essay, major anatomic factors affecting surgical decision-making in DORV with ventricular septal defects were comprehensively reviewed using three-dimensional cardiac CT data. In addition, the surgical procedures available for these patients and major postoperative complications are described.

  • These days, surveying instruments are developing rapidly and the precision is improving continuously. The building of three dimensional terrains of high precision are possible and the calculation of the areas or the volumes have high precision due to the development of the technique of the spatial information system using computer. But actually, in construction site they calculate two-dimensional area using the traditional method, plate table surveying, planimeter, and then get three-dimensional area through multiplying two-dimensional area by the slope correction factor. In this study, we show the defect and inefficiency of the calculation of area by the traditional methods and survey the area with Electric Distance Measurement and GPS instrument. With this data, we made the three dimensional terrain model and calculated two-dimensional area, three-dimensional area. After that, we compared areas that calculated by algorithm of triangulated irregular network and analysis of grid method with standard area that calculated by the traditional method. Finally, this paper suggested more effective and precious method in calculating three-dimensional area.

  • In this paper, Face recognition algorithm is designed based on optimized pRBFNNs pattern classifier using three-dimensional scanner. Generally two-dimensional image-based face recognition system enables us to extract the facial features using gray-level of images. The environmental variation parameters such as natural sunlight, artificial light and face pose lead to the deterioration of the performance of the system. In this paper, the proposed face recognition algorithm is designed by using three-dimensional scanner to overcome the drawback of two-dimensional face recognition system. First face shape is scanned using three-dimensional scanner and then the pose of scanned face is converted to front image through pose compensation process. Secondly, data with face depth is extracted using point signature method. Finally, the recognition performance is confirmed by using the optimized pRBFNNs for solving high-dimensional pattern recognition problems.

  • Most spatial data handled in GIS is two-dimensional. These two-dimensional data is established by selecting 2D aspects form 3D, or by projecting 3D onto 2D space. During this conversion, without user's intention, data are abstracted and omitted. This unwanted data loss causes disadvantages such as restrictingof the range of data application and describing inaccurate real world. Recently, three dimensional data is getting wide interests and demands. One of the examplesis Database Management System which can store and manage three dimensional spatial data. However, this DBMS does not support spatial query which is the essence of the database management system. So, various studies are needed in this field. This research designs spatial relationship that is defined in space database standard using the three-dimension space model. The spatial data model, which is used in this research, is the one defined in OGC for GMS3, and designing tool is DE-9IM based on Point-Set Topology blow as the best method for topological operation.

  • In this paper, we prove that the Ricci tensor of a three-dimensional almost Kenmotsu manifold satisfying ${\nabla}_{\xi}h=0$, $h{\neq}0$, is ${\eta}$-parallel if and only if the manifold is locally isometric to either the Riemannian product $\mathbb{H}^2(-4){\times}\mathbb{R}$ or a non-unimodular Lie group equipped with a left invariant non-Kenmotsu almost Kenmotsu structure.

  • Data compression of 3 dimensional objects has limitations such as large data size, slow processing time, uncertainties of noise and measurement errors. Recently, along with activities of information transmission in internet, the researches in 3 dimensional information processing become a very important issue as the exchanges of large data are available. In this paper, we propose a data compression algorithm which first estimates the surfaces of 3 dimensional objects and then apply them to the FCV(Fuzzy c-Varieties) Clustering to obtain 3 dimensional edges and vertices, and represent the results.

  • Background: The aim of this study is to present the basic reference data of kinematic gait analysis of normal Korean adults with 3 dimensional electrogoniometer, $Domotion^{(R)}$. Method: The basic kinematic gait parameters of hip, knee and ankle joints on the sagittal plane were obtained from 10 healthy adults with 5 repetition for each. Three-dimensional gait analysis was performed with $Domotion^{(R)}$ electrogoniometer in 10 meters long flat floor. Each data collected was processed with IBM PC equipped with gait analysis program. Results: Mean maximal hip flexion was $23.05^{\circ}{\pm}4.62^{\circ}$and mean maximal hip extension was $6.46^{\circ}{\pm}1.30^{\circ}$. Knee flexion was observed with two peak values. The first peak knee flexion was $6.50^{\circ}{\pm}2.07^{\circ}$ at 20.4% of gait cycle and the second peak flexion was $50.34^{\circ}{\pm}2.23^{\circ}$ at 75.8% of gait cycle. Mean maximum ankle dorsiflexion was $5.57^{\circ}{\pm}1.19^{\circ}$ at 44% of gait cycle and mean maximum ankle plantar flexion was $15.51^{\circ}{\pm}1.73^{\circ}$ at 68.5% of gait cycle. Conclusion: We concluded three dimensional gait analysis with electrogoniometer $Domotion^{(R)}$ offers a valid and reliable kinematic data and the application of this tools for clinical gait evaluation will be helpful in management of pathological gait.

  • This paper focuses on the spatial changes that create a three-dimensional or deep feeling on the surface of a scarf centering on the cube shape. Through this, consumers with various tastes were able to satisfy their image presentation. The cube form has simplicity and order and is likely to be used as a formative object. The cube shapes can be expressed in various forms through visual and perceptual spatial changes by presenting various shape changes based on the viewpoint of the two-dimensional silk surface, that is, by changing the eyes' position and orientation. Various visual theorists' discussions about cube-shaped visual changes were discussed. In addition, the three-dimensional spatial illusion caused by the shape and color of Victor Bazaarelli's cube was examined. The cube shape was printed silk surfaces to give a three-dimensional sense of space on a two-dimensional scarf design using the size change, the difference in the length of the line, and the color change. As such, the cube shape has infinite possibilities as a method that can express three-dimensional depth and space on the flat surface of a scarf. Therefore, it is hoped that this study will be applied to various aspects as the basic data for the scarf design that expresses the spatial changes in the form of cubes.

  • In the high-dimensional data, the number of variables is very larger than the number of observations. In this case, the impact of influential observations on regression coefficient estimates can be very large. Jang and Anderson-Cook (2017) suggested the LASSO influence plot. In this paper, we propose the LASSO influence plot, LASSO variable selection ranking plot, and three-dimensional LASSO influence plot as graphical methods for evaluating the impact of influential observations in high-dimensional data. With real two high-dimensional data examples, we apply these graphical methods as the regression diagnostics tools for finding influential observations. It has been found that we can obtain influential observations with by these graphical methods.
