리튬용액침투법에 의한 내열충격성이 향상된 세라믹 제조 (Fabrication of Porcelains Having Improved Thermal Shock Resistance by a Lithium Solution Infiltration Method)

  • Porcelain with high thermal shock resistance was successfully fabricated by a lithium solution infiltration method with a lithium hydroxide solution. Lithium hydroxide solutions having various lithium concentrations were infiltrated into pre-sintered porcelain bodies. The porcelain sample infiltrated by the 9 wt% lithium solution and heat treated at $1250^{\circ}C$ for 1 h showed a low thermal expansion coefficient of $1.0{\times}10^{-6}/^{\circ}C$ with excellent thermal shock resistance. The highly thermally resistant porcelain had a well-developed ${\beta}$-spodumene phase with the general phases observed in porcelain. Furthermore, the porcelain showed a denser structure of $2.41g/cm^3$ sintering density and excellent whiteness in comparison with commercial thermally resistible porcelains. The lithium hydroxide in the samples readily reacted with moisture, and liquid phase reactants were formed during the fabrication process. In the case of an excess amount of lithium in the sample body, the lithium reactants were forced to the surface and re-crystallized at the surface, leaving large pores beneath the surface. These phenomena resulted in an irregular structure in the surface area and led to cracking in samples subjected to a thermal shock test.

  • Purpose of this study is proposal of estimating method about window thermal performance that based on KS F 2278 'Test method of thermal resistance for windows and doors' due to material composition of PVC frame window. First step of this study is research of present state about material composition of PVC frame window. Second is selection of main effective elements about window thermal resistance. For example, composition of Glazing, Frame area ratio of total window area, frame width, opening type, area of heat transfer and so on. Third is multiple regression analysis about thermal performance of PVC frame window due to main effective elements. It produces equations of multiple regression analysis due to opening type. Case of sliding window is $Y=0.149+0.034X_g+0.248X_{far}$, 4track sliding is $Y=0.584+0.175X_g+1.355X_{far}-0.008X_{fw}$, Tilt & Turn window is $Y=-0.161+0.076X_g+0.576X_{far}+0.0008X_{fw}$.

  • Magnesia partially stabilized zirconia(Mg-PSZ) solid electrolytes for an improvement of thermal shock resistance, which is suitable for the measurement of oxygen activity in a molten steel, were prepared by post-thermal aging treatment. The steelmaking oxygen sensor elements were formed by an injection molding method, sintered at $1650^{\circ}C$, and then thermal aged ranged from 1250 to $1400^{\circ}C$. Sintered density and porosity were decreased as increasing the magnesia content in a zirconia-magnesia solid solution. Fractions of cubic phase to the synthesized Mg-PSZ solid electrolytes were ranged from 13.13 to 79.54.% after post-thermal aging treatment. Very dense microstructure without voids in the grains was obtained by the post-thermal aging process. Fine tetragonal phase crystallites precipitated on the cubic surface during post-thermal aging up to $1300^{\circ}C$ improve a thermal shock resistance and reappearance of electro motive force(EMF) curve.

  • Due to the recent depletion of natural resources and global warming, a passive house type building exterior system has been developed and applied. For this purpose, we developed a building exterior thermal resistance performance evaluation system and verify the feasibility of this system for evaluation of passive house building system.

  • This paper predicted the thermal conductivity of spatially reinforced composites(SRC) by applying the volume averaging method and the thermal resistance method. The former method employs existing micro-mechanical theories and conventional transformation rules to constitute relations for the unit cells of the composites and the latter one uses the analogy between the diffusion of heat and electrical charge. To verify the theoretical prediction, the thermal conductivity of 4-D(dimensional) SRC was examined experimentally. The comparison of the numerical results with those measured by the experiment showed good agreement.

멀티 핀/핑거 FinFET 트랜지스터의 열 저항 해석과 모델링 (Analysis and modeling of thermal resistance of multi fin/finger FinFETs)

  • 본 논문에서는 소스와 드레인의 구조가 육각형인 FinFET에서 구조 변수 및 핀/핑거 개수 증가에 따른 열 저항 모델을 제안한다. 소자의 크기가 감소하여 발열 효과 및 열 특성의 영향이 커졌으며, 이를 분석하기 위해 소자의 열 저항은 중요한 요소이다. 열 저항 모델은 소자에서 열이 생성되는 열원과 열이 빠져나가는 contact를 설정했으며, 도메인은 열원과 4 부분의 소스, 드레인, 게이트, 서브스트레이트 contact를 통해 나누어진다. 또 각각의 contact 열 저항 모델은 TCAD의 시뮬레이션 결과의 온도 및 열 흐름을 분석하여 해석이 용이한 형태로 세분화하였다. 도메인들은 그 구조에 따라 구조 변수를 통한 적분 및 등각 매핑 방식을 기반으로 모델링하였다. 먼저 싱글 핀으로 열 저항을 분석하여 모델링하였으며, 멀티 핀/핑거의 열 저항 모델의 정확도를 높이기 위해 채널증가에 따른 파라미터의 변화를 적용하였다. 제안한 열 저항 모델은 3D Technology CAD 시뮬레이션을 해석하여 얻은 열 저항 결과와 비교하였으며, 싱글 핀 및 멀티 핀의 전체 열 저항 모델은 3 % 이하의 오차를 얻었다. 제안한 열 저항은 핀/핑거 개수의 증가에 따른 열 저항을 예측할 수 있으며, 발열효과 및 열 특성 분석을 계산하여 회로 특성을 개선할 수 있다.

  • Usually the contact between fin collar and tube surface for fin-tube heat exchanger is secured by mechanical expansion of the tubes. The objective of the present study is to develop a method of measuring the thermal contact resistance between fin collar and tube surface for fin-tube heat exchanger. Also an experimental work has been performed to evaluate the thermal contact resistance, and a rigorous numerical analysis has been employed to calculate the contact resistance from the measured data. The experiments have been conducted fur the fin-tube heat exchangers with the tube of outer diameters 7 and 9.52 mm.

Thermal and Mechanical Properties of Electro-Slag Cast Steel for Hot Working Tools

  • The thermal and mechanical properties of an electro-slag cast steel of a similar chemical composition with an AISI-6F2 steel are investigated and compared with a forged AISI-6F2 steel. AISI-6F2 is a hot-working tool steel. Electro-slag casting (ESC) is a method of producing ingots in a water-cooled metal mold by the heat generated in an electrically conductive slag when current passes through a consumable electrode. The ESC method provides the possibility of producing material for the high quality hot-working tools and ingots directly into a desirable shape. In the present study, the thermal and mechanical properties of yield strength, tensile strength, hardness, impact toughness, wear resistance, thermal fatigue resistance, and thermal shock resistance for electro-slag cast and forged steel are experimentally measured for both annealed and quenched and tempered heat treatment conditions. It has been found that the electro-slag cast steel has comparable thermal and mechanical properties to the forged steel.

현지 측정에 의한 남한지역의 지중유효열전도도, 보어홀 전열저항 및 초기온도 분석 (Analysis of Soil Thermal Conductivities, Borehole Thermal Resistances and Initial Soil Temperature with In-Situ Testing in South Korea)

  • Investigation of the effective soil thermal conductivity($k$) is the first step in designing the ground loop heat exchanger(borehole) of a geothermal heat pump system. Another important factor is the borehole thermal resistance($R_b$). Thermal response tests offer a good method to determine the ground thermal properties for the total heat transport in the ground. The first step is measured for initial soil temperature. This is done by supplying a only pump power into a borehole heat exchanger. They need to supply into water unload heat power more than 30 minutes. In this study, the initial soil temperature was found to analysis $14.1{\sim}16.0^{\circ}C$,the ratio was 68.7% represented. In this case of $k$, was 2.1~3.0 $W/m{\cdot}k$, $R_b$ was 0.11~0.20 $m{\cdot}K/W$. In this work, it is also shown that the distribution of a soil thermal conductivity and borehole thermal resistance were on the influence of initial soil temperature. And soil thermal conductivity was related with factors of equation by linear least square method, borehole thermal resistance was on the influence of composite factors.

그라우팅 영역이 선형열원 해석에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Effect of Grouting Region on the Solution of Line Source Analysis)

  • 선형열원 해석은 열원 주위가 완전히 균일한 매질로 이루어져 있다는 가정 하에 성립되는 해석이나 실제 보어홀 시스템의 경우 그라우팅 영역은 주위토양과 매우 다른 열물성치를 가진 물질로 이루어져 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 그라우팅 영역이 선형열원 해석에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 연구하였다. 연구방법으로는 먼저 수치모델을 개발하고 이 수치모델에 의하여 시간에 따른 보어홀 유체온도를 생성한 후 이 유체온도를 선형열원법에 이용하여 지중열전도도와 보어홀 전열저항을 구하며 이렇게 구한 해를 수치모델의 입력조건과 비교함으로서 그 차이점을 규명한다. 이러한 해석결과 선형열원법의 해인 지중열전도도와 보어홀 전열 저항은 수치모델 입력조건에 비해 대략, 86%와 91%의 수준으로 나타났다. 선형열원 해로부터 수치모델의 입력조건을 역산해 나가는 Chart법이 본 연구에서 개발되었으며 시험용 보어홀의 열응답시험 결과와 비교해 본 결과 이 Chart법은 신뢰성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그라우트 영역의 열물성치를 변화시켜가며 선형열원해의 특성이 어떻게 변하는지도 검토하였다.
