등가상수를 이용한 벤트레이트 디스크의 축대칭 온도 해석 (Axisymmetric Temperature Analysis of Ventilated Disk using Equivalent Parameters)

  • In automotive brake systems, the frictional heat generated can cause high temperature at the interface of rotor and pad which may deteriorate the material properties of the sliding parts and can result in brake fade. Conventionally, a pie-shaped 3-dimentional model is adopted to calculate temperature of ventilated disk using finite element method. To overcome the difficulties in preparing 3D finite element model and reduce the computational time required, the ventilated rotor is to be analyzed, in this study, as an axisymmetric finite element model in which, taking into considerations the effects of cooling passages, a homogenization technique is used to obtain the equivalent thermal properties and boundary conditions for the elements placed at the vent holes. Numerical tests show the proposed procedure can be successfully applied in practice, replacing 3-dimensional thermal analysis of ventilated disk.

  • This paper presents a thermal analysis of an interior PM synchronous machine with concentrated winding for electric vehicle. The conventional thermal equivalent network model has been used for a long time for calculation of the temperature rises in electrical machines. In spite of being popular, this method can not be applied correctly for elements with complicated cooling structure like liquid cooled housing. To overcome this drawbacks, in this paper, a hybrid thermal model using the result of CFD analysis partly. Using this method, to improve a thermal performance of PMSM with concentrated winding, the effects of two design parameters are analysed. Finally, the accuracy of this model has been verified by experiments for the developed 21kW motor.

Thermal frequency analysis of FG sandwich structure under variable temperature loading

  • The thermal eigenvalue responses of the graded sandwich shell structure are evaluated numerically under the variable thermal loadings considering the temperature-dependent properties. The polynomial type rule-based sandwich panel model is derived using higher-order type kinematics considering the shear deformation in the framework of the equivalent single-layer theory. The frequency values are computed through an own home-made computer code (MATLAB environment) prepared using the finite element type higher-order formulation. The sandwich face-sheets and the metal core are discretized via isoparametric quadrilateral Lagrangian element. The model convergence is checked by solving the similar type published numerical examples in the open domain and extended for the comparison of natural frequencies to have the final confirmation of the model accuracy. Also, the influence of each variable structural parameter, i.e. the curvature ratios, core-face thickness ratios, end-support conditions, the power-law indices and sandwich types (symmetrical and unsymmetrical) on the thermal frequencies of FG sandwich curved shell panel model. The solutions are helping to bring out the necessary influence of one or more parameters on the frequencies. The effects of individual and the combined parameters as well as the temperature profiles (uniform, linear and nonlinear) are examined through several numerical examples, which affect the structural strength/stiffness values. The present study may help in designing the future graded structures which are under the influence of the variable temperature loading.

지중 열교환기의 보어홀 열저항 산정에 관한 연구 (Evaluation of Borehole Thermal Resistance in Ground Heat Exchanger)

  • 최근 들어 경제적이고 친환경적인 에너지 활용을 위하여 지열에너지 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 지반의 열전도도(ground thermal conductivity)와 보어홀 열저항(borehole thermal resistance)은 지열 히트펌프 시스템(geothermal heat pump system)의 설계 과정에서 매우 중요한 변수이다. 본 논문에서는 일반 수직밀폐형에서의 U, W 타입의 지중 열교환기(ground heat exchanger)를 매립지 지반에 설치한 후 100시간 연속 운전 조건으로 현장 열성능 실험(thermal performance test)을 수행하였다. 또한 보어홀 열저항 산정 모델들을 이용하여 열효율을 산정한 후 이를 실험값과 비교하였다. 실험 결과 기존에 주로 적용되고 있는 shape factor(SF) 모델보다 multi-pole과 equivalent diameter(EQD) 모델이 계측값과 잘 일치하였다.

단채널 MOSFET의 열잡음 모델링을 위한 잡음 파라메터의 분석과 추출방법 (Analysis and extraction method of noise parameters for short channel MOSFET thermal noise modeling)

  • 단채널 MOSFET의 열잡음 모델링을 위한 정밀한 잡음 파라메터를 유도하고 추출했다. MOSFET의 잡음 파라메터를 계산하기 위한 Fukui모델을 단채널에서의 기생성분의 영향을 고려하여 수정하였고, 기존의 모델식과 비교하였다. 또한 소자 고유의 잡음원을 얻기 위해서 서브마이크론 MOSFET의 잡음 파라메터(최소잡음지수 $F_{min}$, 등가잡음 저항 $R_n$, 최적 소스어드미턴스 $Y_{opt}=G_{opt}+B_{opt}$)를 추출하는 방법을 제시하였다. 이러한 추출방법을 통하여 프로브패드의 영향과 외부기생소자 영향을 제거한 MOSFET 고유의 잡음 파라메터가 RF잡음측정으로부터 직접 얻어지게 된다.

  • In this paper, the temperature characteristics by change the width of teeth and yoke in the stat or parameters were analyzed. An initial model of fill factor 45 [%] was produced. Through the experiment, the validity of the temperature analysis using the thermal equivalent circuit method was verified. So, initial model was selected as basic model. Also, temperature characteristic analysis was performed for each width change of the stator teeth and yoke, and the effects of the width of stator teeth and yoke on the temperature characteristics were analyzed.

  • In this paper, a simple and improved noise parameter model of RF MOSFETs is developed and verified. Based on the analytical model of channel thermal noise, closed form expressions for four noise parameters are developed from proposed equivalent small signal circuit. The modeling results show a excellent agreement with the measured data of $0.13{\mu}m$ CMOS devices.

초전도 전력케이블의 열 등가 회로에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Equivalent Thermal Circuit for HTS Power Cable)

  • To develop the thermal analysis method for the thermal behavior of HTS power cable system, cooled with sub-cooled liquid nitrogen, new thermo dynamic model for HTS cable system is introduced. The introduced thermal model is mainly modified from the thermal circuit following to IEC60287 for underground power cable systems such as XLPE or paper wrapped insulation cables. The thermal circuits for HTS cables are similar to the forced cooled underground cable system but the major thermal parameters and the configuration is apparently different to the normal cable systems so there has been no proposals in this field of analysing method. In this paper, 154kV HTS cable system has been introduced as an aspects of thermal models and a thermal circuit is proposed for the fundamentals on the dynamic rating systems for the HTS cable system. By using the thermal circuit developed in this paper, the optimal controls on the sub-cooling system's capacity become possible and it is expected to make the efficiency of HTS cable higher than conventional static controls.

고엔탈피 열유동 발생용 고주파 유도결합 플라즈마 토치의 최적 설계변수 해석 (Optimum design analysis of ICP(Inductively Coupled Plasma) torch for high enthalpy thermal plasma flow)

  • 초음속 플라즈마 풍동 등, 항공우주 응용을 위한 고순도, 고엔탈피 열유동 발생 장치로서 널리 쓰이고 있는 유도결합 플라즈마 토치에 대해, 전기회로 이론과 결합된 해석적 및 수치해석적 자기유체역학 모델을 이용하여 토치 설계변수(주파수 $f$, 가둠관 반지름 $R$ 및 코일 감은수 $N$) 변화에 따른 전기적 특성 변수(등가 저항, 등가 인덕턴스 및 결합효율)의 거동을 추적함으로써 최적 설계 변수해석을 수행하였다. 계산 결과, 등가저항은 $f$, $R$$N$이 증가함에 따라 커지는 반면, 등가 인덕턴스는 $f$가 증가할수록 작아지지만 $R$$N$의 증가에 대해서는 커지는 경향이 있음을 파악하였다. 이로부터, 10 kW 급 고주파 유도결합 플라즈마 토치의 경우, 결합효율을 극대화시키는 최적의 주파수, 가둠관 반지름 및 코일 감은수의 범위를 각각 $f$=4~6 MHz, $R$=17~25 mm 및 $N$=3~4 로 추정하였다.

EFFECT OF STRENGTH MISMATCH AND DYNAMIC LOADING ON THE DUCTILE CRACK INITIATION FROM NOTCH ROOT

  • It has been well known that ductile fracture of steels is accelerated by triaxial stresses. The characteristics of ductile crack initiation in steels are evaluated quantitatively using two-parameters criterion based on equivalent plastic strain and stress triaxiality. It has been demonstrated by authors using round-bar specimens with circumferential notch in single tension that the critical strain to initiate ductile crack from specimen center depends considerably on stress triaxiality, but surface cracking of notch root is in accordance with constant strain condition. In order to evaluate the stress/strain state in the specimens, especially under dynamic loading, a thermal, elastic-plastic, dynamic finite element (FE) analysis considering the temperature rise due to plastic deformation has been carried out. This study provides the fundamental clarification of the effect of strength mismatching, which can elevate plastic constraint due to heterogeneous plastic straining, loading mode and loading rate on critical condition to initiate ductile crack from notch root using equivalent plastic strain and stress triaxiality based on the two-parameter criterion obtained on homogeneous specimens under static tension. The critical condition to initiate ductile crack from notch root for strength mismatched bend specimens under both static and dynamic loading would be almost the same as that for homogeneous tensile specimens with circumferential sharp notch under static loading.
