  • The national land use plan that targets the whole national land and all kinds of urban plans that targets a city or a part of city must be performed continuously now and after that. Therefore, the importance of land use plan, that is included in those plans, is very big and crucial. This study scrutinizes the detail zoning land suitability analysis which bases on urban basis plan and the GSIS application plan about allocation, applied various basic theory which is arranged in that course to study area, and try to develop the land use suitability analysis system, a application system The programing language used in system development is the AML of ARC/INFO. On this study, the results divide into four parts. First, we develop the land use suitability analysis system and can simplify and automatize a complicated analysis course and this system will be more useful to the land use suitability analysis. Second, the analysis range is expanded, considering the circumstance environmental factor of planning area outside. So we can implement more comprehensive analysis. Third, we apply a precedency conception and a legal restrictive element that base on urban characteristics and urban space structure theory to this study, develop a computerized method about distributive method, and can allocate the detail zone in the various ways. • In this study, we tried to analyze the suitability of factory development location in environmental aspects using the Green Development Suitability Map(GDSMap) which was created by GIS analysis about the optimal location of development projects. For this, it was evaluated a influence of various environmental factors that were caused by developments by setting the legislative, environmental and ecological assessment items. In addition, we made the GDSMap by reflecting the characteristics of region & development project overall. And, it were compared a location distribution on the GDSMap & NEZMap(National Environmental Zoning Map) to analyze a suitability of factory development location about the 39 factories located in study area. Results of analysis, the factory locations of about 23% of total development projects were confirmed that it was performed in development restrictions area on the NEZMap which was utilized current in selecting the location of development projects. And the factory locations of about 31% of total development projects could confirm that it was performed in development restrictions area on the GDSMap which was made in this study. Therefore, it was judged that it must be determined the development location by considering the characteristics of development projects & that region when selecting the location of various development projects.

  • Land suitability assessments for agricultural crop production determine the suitability of an area in terms of crop yields. We employed the maximum limiting characteristic method (MLCM) and an analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to assess land suitability for Pears (Pyrus) in all Korean provinces (Dos). In general, suitability grades according to the MLCM were much lower than those according to the AHP. The MLCM determined that suitable areas (S1, S2, and S3) exist on 19.55% of the land, whereas 99.08% of the land was classified as suitable by the AHP. Based on information on pear farms in each Korean province in 5 years (1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, 2002, and 2007), the proportion of suitable land area according to the MLCM in each province as compared to all suitable areas was closer to the proportion of areas covered by pear farms in the 5 years in each province and also to the proportion of pear farm areas in 2007 in each province. Based on the assumption that if a province has more suitable areas for pears, more pears will be cultivated in that province, the results of the MLCM can be regarded as more accurate than those of the AHP.

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the land suitability for southern-type garlic cultivation associated with both temperature and soil constraints. The suitability analysis was conducted with hourly temperature data from 2001 to 2010 at all fifty seven meteorological stations and the soil-based suitability map of garlic provided by Rural Development Administration. Firstly the temperature data were processed by the growth stages (germinating, bulbing, and winter vegetation season), and then were adopted to limit the irrelevant lands. Next, as a result of overlaying each soil and temperature suitability map, the total 274,339 ha of area was mapped as highly suitable or suitable for southern-type garlic cultivation and the top four of the largest classified si-guns were identified as Naju, Jeongeup, Gochang, and Jinju. On the other hand, the statistical records of KOSIS (KOrea Statistical Information Service) showed lower amount of cultivation area than the analyzed results in the major production sites, Goheung, Sinan, Haenam, and Muan. However, it should not be regarded as exceptional because farmer's preference might not correspond to potential land usability.

  • As marine desertification and chlorosis in Korean coast have been intensified over time, Korean government is promoting marine afforestation projects. However, marine afforestation location is mainly decided by administrative convenience. Also, there is limited literature on location suitability about the marine afforestation. This study aims to assess location suitability of marine afforestation considering 3 significant criteria: ecological, submarine topographical, and human-social environment. Jeju, the study area of this study, first observed chlorosis in Korean coast at the small fishery town in Seogwipo. Jeju is currently suffering from chlorosis all around the island. Habitat Evaluation Procedure (HEP), 3D kriging, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is applied as analysis methods. Especially, 3D kriging is utilized for modeling 3D ocean space reflecting ocean environment appropriately. The result shows that Jocheon coast has better location suitability than Seogwipo Pyoseon coast. Jocheon coast has the maximum 61% suitability as the habitat of Ecklonia cava Kjellman, and is highly evaluated in other criteria. The results of this study are expected to find optimal marine afforestation location, and to contribute to the restoration of the Jeju coastal ecosystem and the revitalization of Jeju fishing village societies.

  • As a result of the Four-River Restoration Project in Korea, the habitat of endangered plant species of Aster altaicus var. uchiyamae and Polygonatum stenophyllum, which had been natively grown in the riparian zone of Namhan River, was destroyed and artificial replacement habitats were created. In this study, Habitat Suitability Index (HSI) was used to determine whether the replacement habitats are suitable for each species or not. From October 2015 to July 2016, Habitat Evaluate Procedures (HEP) were conducted on two replacement habitats of A. altaicus var. uchiyamae (Gangcheonsum and Sum-River) and on two replacement habitats of P. stenophyllum (Gangcheonsum and Youngjuk) in the Namhan River watershed. As evaluation parameters for A. altaicus var. uchiyamae habitat, habitat matrix (ratio of unburied gravel), height above the ordinary water level, soil nutrients, and light conditions were selected and for P. stenophyllum habitat, soil texture, light conditions, and coverage of companion species were selected. HSI was applied to evaluate the suitability of each replacement habitat. According to the result of the evaluation, replacement habitats of A. altaicus var. uchiyamae and P. stenophyllum located in Gangcheonsum have relatively high HSI values as 0.839 and 0.846, respectively. On the other hand, replacement habitats of A. altaicus var. uchiyamae in Sum-River and P. stenophyllum in Youngjuk zone have HSI value of 0, indicating unsuitable habitats for these species. This is the first attempt to apply HSI for plant species in Korea and proved the usefulness of HSI on plants.

  • The purpose of this paper is to provide useful knowledge for recreation management in natural park(NP) by evaluating use suitability of recreation resource. We had obtained data through a questionnaire, which surveyed 385 visitors at 6 of the 73 NP in Korea in 2001, based on stratified sampling method. We have analyzed the data using the multiple regression method. We found that 1) in bivariate analysis, the relationships between use suitability and all the recreation resources are fairly high and statistically significant. The higher the degree of recreation resources, the higher the degree of use suitability. 2) in multivariate analysis, topography, social resource(SR), cultural resource(CR), landscape, smell, color and sound(SCS) have been turned out to be statistically significant at one percent level. 3) the direction of relationship between topography, SR, CR, landscape, SCS and use suitability is same. 4) in relative contribution of the use suitability of recreation resource, level of topography has been turned out to have about 1.05, 1.56, 2.16 and 2.70 times more important than that of SCS, SR, landscape, topography, respectively This results will be used for a criterion for recreation resource evaluation and a settlement of management priority and increasing user's satisfaction.

  • Oysters are an important organism, accounting for an average of 76% of shellfish aquaculture production. In this study, optimal habitat was searched for by calculating the Habitat Suitability Index (HSI) using water temperature, salinity, hydrodynamics, DO, SS and Chl.a in Jaran Bay. As a result, the inside of Jaran Bay was found to be a more suitable habitat than the outside with a wide entrance and rapid hydrodynamics. Oyster production and HSI showed a significant correlation (0.710, p<0.05). Hydrodynamics helps the growth of aquaculture organisms, such as food supply through seawater exchange in the bay, which showed a high correlation (0.709, p<0.05) with oyster production. It was found to have a greater effect on habitat suitability than Chl.a. The results of this study are expected to be helpful for the efficient conservation, use and management of coastal fisheries.

  • This study analyzed that adjustment roles of the organization and Information System strategy suitability factors between influence and introduction outcome factors in the IT outsourcing in government offices. Influence factors of IT outsourcing are organization factor(information system maturity, CEO's support), trade factor(asset speciality, uncertainty, using degree of information system), risk factor(risk of security, risk of increase in cost, risk of losing autonomy). And outcome factors are set as economic effect and technology effect. We analyzed that organization and IS strategy suitability factors as moderator variables. Results are the followings. It was analyzed that organization and IS strategy suitability factors are in charge of adjusting role among information system maturity which is lower variable of organization factor, CEO's support, uncertainty of trade factor's lower variable, risk of security which is risk factor's lower variable, risk of increase in cost, loss of autonomy. Therefore, in order for organization to increase the outcome of information technology, organization strategy and IS strategy should be promoted in combined manner. However, it was analyzed that strategy suitability could not take the adjusting role between asset specialty and introduction outcome.
