고강도콘크리트의 유동성 손실에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Factors Influencing on the Slump Loss of High Strength Concrete)

  • In this study , some factors such as mix proportion, type and dosage of high range water reducing admixture(HRWR) and natural pozzolanas influencing on the slump loss of high strength concrete(H.S.C) using HRWR were investigated for reducing the slump loss. The acquired results indicated that the slump loss of H.S.C was affected according to cement content, sand percentage and type and dosage of HRWR and fly ash was superior to ground granulated blast furance slag in reducing the slump loss of H.S.C.

  • This test investigates early strength and durability of concrete using early strength type materials(cement, Polycarboxylate acid). The goal of this test is to secure the strength of 5.0 MPa in 12 hours early age and strength of 14 MPa for 24 hours correspondingly. This type of admixtures, concrete curing temperature, amount of binder and other concrete properties were confirmed by experimental factors. Comparing outcomes from two cases on using early strength type materials and common materials resulted in reducing of costs and shortening of the construction period, that determined the economical benefits of using early strength materials in construction.

  • This study on the proposes a spalling mechanism based on the results of a fire resistance test of HSC(High Strength Concrete) considering important factors of spalling occurrence. The factors considered in this two-sided are fire resistance test to ISO 834 fire curve. In this study, explosive spalling phenomena in the specimens were investigation.

환경인자에 노출된 탄소섬유/에폭시 복합재의 장기 층간전단강도 예측 (Prediction of Long-Term Interlaminar Shear Strength of Carbon Fiber/Epoxy Composites Exposed to Environmental Factors)

  • 본 연구에서는 환경인자에 노출된 탄소섬유/에폭시 복합재의 층간전단강도를 이용하여 장기 성능을 예측하였다. 필라멘트와인딩 공법으로 제작된 층간전단시편은 분위기 온도가 $50^{\circ}C$, $70^{\circ}C$, $100^{\circ}C$인 건조 조건과 분위기 온도가 $25^{\circ}C$, $50^{\circ}C$, $70^{\circ}C$인 침수 조건에 각각 3000시간까지 노출시켰다. 연구결과에 따르면 분위기 온도가 $50^{\circ}C$$70^{\circ}C$인 건조 상태에서는 층간전단강도가 노출시간에 따라 크게 변하지 않지만 분위기 온도가 $100^{\circ}C$인 건조 상태에서는 노출시간이 길어지면 후경화로 인해 다소 증가한다. 그러나 분위기 온도가 $25^{\circ}C$인 침수 상태의 경우 층간전단강도는 노출 초기에 크게 변하지 않다가 노출시간이 길어지면 감소하고 감소 정도는 분위기 온도가 높아지면 커진다. 각 분위기 온도에 대한 층간전단강도 선형회귀식은 침수 상태에 3000시간까지 노출된 시편에서 얻은 층간전단강도에서 구할 수 있었다. 이들 선형 회귀식을 이용하면 층간전단강도는 분위기 온도가 $25^{\circ}C$$50^{\circ}C$인 경우 측정값의 5.5% 이내, 분위기 온도가 $70^{\circ}C$인 경우 측정값의 2.3% 이내로 예측이 가능하였다. 따라서 제시된 성능 예측 절차는 환경인자에 노출된 탄소섬유/에폭시 복합재의 장기 층간전단강도를 잘 예측할 수 있다.

Fire Resistance Studies on High Strength Steel Structures

  • High strength steels have been widely applied in recent years due to high strength and good working performance. When subjected to fire conditions, the strength and elastic modulus of high strength steels deteriorate significantly and hence the load bearing capacity of structures reduces at elevated temperatures. The reduction factors of mechanical properties of high strength steels are quite different from mild steels. Therefore, the fire design methods deduced from mild steel structures are not applicable to high strength steel structures. In recent ten years, the first author of this paper has carried out a lot of fundamental research on fire behavior of high strength steels and structures. Summary of these research is presented in this paper, including mechanical properties of high strength steels at elevated temperature and after fire exposure, creep response of high strength steels at elevated temperature, residual stresses of welded high strength steel member after fire exposure, fire resistance of high strength steel columns, fire resistance of high strength steel beams, local buckling of high strength steel members, and residual strength of high strength steel columns after fire exposure. The results show that the mechanical properties of high strength steel in fire condition and the corresponding fire resistance of high strength steel structures are different from those of mild steel and structures, and the fire design methods recommended in current design codes are not applicable to high strength steel structures.

소형콘과 T-bar 관입기를 이용한 카올린 점토의 비배수전단강도 산정에 관한 연구 (Determination of Undrained Shear Strength using Miniature Cone and T-bar Penetrometers for Kaolin Clay)

  • 원추형콘과 T-bar 관입시험기는 점토의 비배수전단강도를 측정하기 위해 널리 사용된다. 축소모형시험의 경우 소형관입시험기가 사용되어야 하지만 경험상관계수에 대해 발표된 자료가 부족하다. 본 연구에서는 소형콘과 소형T-bar 관입시험기의 경험상관계수를 도출하기 위한 시험시스템을 구축하였고, 카올린점토에 대하여 실험을 수행하였다. 직경 350mm의 강재원형챔버를 사용하여 4개의 모형지반을 조성하였고, 각 모형지반은 다른 선행압밀응력에서 압밀하여 비배수전단강도를 조절하였다. 경계면 효과, 관입속도, 직경 및 형상의 영향을 확인하기 위하여 다른 직경을 가진 두 직경의 소형콘(10mm, 16mm)과 직경 10mm T-bar를 이용하여 시험을 수행하였다. 또한 관입시험 후의 시편을 채취하여 비압밀비배수삼축시험을 수행하여 비배수전단강도로 결정하였다. 최종적으로 비배수전단강도와 관입시 선단저항력의 상관관계를 통해 경험상관계수를 산정하였다.

성숙도가 폴리에스터 폴리머 콘크리트의 강도발현에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Maturity on Strength Development of Polyester Polymer Concrete)

  • The strength development of polymer concrete using an unsaturated polyester polymer varies depending on many factors. However, the strength development is mostly dependent upon the age and curing temperature if the mixture ratios are the same. This study conducted to experimentally describe the relationship between the strength development and maturity which is defined as a function of $\Sigma$(time $\times$ temperature). The research result may be applied to predict the compressive, tensile and splitting strengths of the polymer concrete by computing the maturinty of the concrete.

  • In recent the superior economic benefits and the convenience of installation increased the use of geosynthetics, especially geogrids with the effects of high tensile strength. In this study, various tests were conducted to determine the physical and chemical properties of geogrids which contains durability under various critical conditions, creep behavior and the stability for installation damage in fields. With analysis of test results, the partial and total safety factors were determined and presented the long term design strength of flexible geogrids.

  • One of the causes of recent construction site collapses was that the compressive strength of concrete was less than half of the allowable design standard strength range. In the safety diagnosis of structures, the compressive strength of concrete is a factor that determines the durability of a building. Therefore, in this study, we aim to examine the characteristics of compressive strength according to the particle size distribution of coarse aggregate among the compressive strength factors using small-diameter cores. To avoid problems when collecting cores, core specimens with diameters of 100×200, 50×100, and 25×50 (mm) were manufactured directly. As a result of measuring the compressive strength of concrete for each diameter, the larger the core diameter, the higher the compressive strength. has increased.

Bond Strength of Mortar mixed Activated Hwangtoh

  • This study aimed to mix and test mortar incorporating activated Hwangtoh to improve the Hwangtoh brick bond strength of brick structures. To do this, the bond strength correlation of mortar was analyzed by means of materials and experiment factors and levels, and the optimum conditions were suggested after analyzing the physical properties of brick and the mix ratio of mortar and additive. Furthermore, the compressive strength and bond strength were found to be in inverse proportion, and in terms of the materials and mixing level, W/C ratio, substitution ratio of activated Hwangtoh, and fine aggregate grading were shown to have a considerable influence on the strength. In conclusion, the optimum mixing conditions to improve the bond strength are found to set W/C ratio at 65% and replacmenet ratio of activated Hwangtoh at 10%.
