Objectives: This study was to compare the self-evaluated outcomes of communication competency in dental hygiene process of care in the students of a dental hygiene department with the teaching evaluation, and to confirm the difference of communication competency by the evaluator. Methods: This study attempted to confirm the value and usefulness of self-evaluation and teaching evaluation on the communication competency. The subjects of this study were 43 junior students who took a course of dental medical communication at the dental hygiene department of a university located in 'A' city, and the self-evaluation and teaching evaluation were conducted using the evaluation paper which was modified from the communication evaluation tool in the previous studies. The collected data were subjected to the correspondence sample t-test to compare the difference between the communication competency self-evaluation before and after the education, and after communication education, while an independent sample T-test was conducted to compare the differences between the evaluators. Results: The student's self-evaluations before and after the education showed the statistically significant difference, moreover, the post-education competency scores were improved mostly in all the items more than the pre-education competency scores. The score of self-evaluation was higher than that of the teaching evaluation in all items except one question in the case of history-information collection stage. Conclusions: It is confirmed that there is an effect to allow the students to improve their communication competency in the dental health communication education in the dental hygiene department. To evaluate the student's communication competency, the mutual complement of self-evaluation and teaching evaluation should be confirmed in parallel each other.

The popularization of smart phones changes the usage patterns of mobile communication from voice-centric to data-centric communication. The demand for wireless data communications is rapidly increasing, and thus the need for expanding infrastructure for mobile communication is also rapidly increasing. In this paper, we propose a scheme for reducing the cost for the mobile communication infrastructure by exploiting opportunistic networks in dissemination of multimedia contents. By using this scheme, the large portion of the cost for mobile communication infrastructure could be saved, and the need of users for multimedia contents could be also fulfilled. Our scheme is evaluated using agent-based simulations. The simulation results show that about 70% of mobile communication can be replaced with the data communication through opportunistic networks.

In this paper, a new algorithm is proposed for high speed roaming in an Intelligent Train Control System(ITCS) and study on optimized positioning of radio communication equipment. A DCS(Data Communication System) which is a main part of CBTC(Communication Based Train Control) system, is consisted of radio based wireless communication system and wired optical system. In the radio based wireless communication, the position of AP enclosures and antennas shall be optimized for the guaranteed communication channel between wayside and trains both in open aired and tunnelled area. Also a communication channel established between wayside and train shall be maintained while train moves at its maximum speed. This study shows the way of determining the optimal position for the railway side communication equipment in Bundang Line and how to achieve continuous communicating channel for tracking and controlling train.

In the present investigation, we tried AR coating simulation by using the "Essential Macleod optical coating design and analysis" program. After various run of the program we selected appropriate materials which have specific refractive indices and for that thickness was optimized to get the low reflectance. By comparing the simulated results for the different materials,we found that $SiO_2$ and TiN are the appropriate materials for this Flat panel device (FPD) application. Thin films of these materials were deposited using RF magnetron sputtering and Inductively Coupled Plasma Chemical Vapour Deposition (ICPCVD) methods on Polyethyleneterephthalate (PET) substrates. Spectroscopic ellipsometer (SE MF-1000) and UV-Vis spectrophotometer (SCINCO) were used for the optical characterization. The obtained experimental results are in good agreement with the simulation results.

This paper investigates the performance of a hybrid single input multiple output radio frequency/free-space optics (SIMO-RF/FSO) communication system. Each SIMO-RF link is modeled as an independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.) Rayleigh distribution, while the FSO link follows a generalized $M{\acute{a}}laga$ (M) distribution. Considering the fixed gain amplify-and-forward (AF) relay and misalignment errors, novel expressions for the outage probability (OP), average bit error rate (ABER) and average capacity are derived. Numerical results show that atmospheric turbulence and misalignment errors can seriously impair the system performance, and the hybrid RF/FSO communication system using SIMO-RF links can greatly improve system performance. We also analyze system performance under different types of modulation schemes. Numerical results are verified by Monte Carlo simulations.

Politics is defined as who gets what, when, and how. Communication is defined as the process, outcomes and effects of message transmission through a medium. Thus political communication in Asia, the most dynamic and uncertain region of the world, has been very dense, requiring rigorous scientific analysis and culturally sensitive reflection. Mass media brought about a revolution in political communication in the last century. In the 21st century, complex monitory devices from the state and international organizations and from the society and transnational groups have transformed the features of political communication. It has triggered another revolution in political communication. Illustrations are given focusing on Asia. A theoretical reflection from the angle of political science is attempted focusing on political communication medium and its effects. I compare no medium (face-to-face communication), mass media, and social media in relation to their effects.

This paper focus on a method to use Ethernet Network for Industrial Communication Network. Ethernet use the CSMA/CD MAC(Medium Access Control) Protocol at the Data-Link Layer, Which isn't suit for Industrial Communication Network requiring Real-Time Communication, periodic data processing, critical data processing characteristics. In this paper we proposed the Virtual Polling Algorithm at the Application Layer will be solution of using the Ethernet Network for the Industrial Communication Network, Proposed Algorithm terminate the Collision in the network thus Delay Time is reduced and Real-Time Communication will be implemented.

This Paper examines the effect of IT knowledge and IT communication on the operational performance of small firms. Small firms which could be defined firms with less than 50 people in total lags behind medium and large firms in computerization. In order to fill up the computerization gap resulted from size differences, Korean government has been promoting the 'Networking Small Firms' project since 2001. Survey data with 698 small firms in Korea, we could find that If knowledge and IT communication significantly contributed to the operational performance of small firms. Internal process performance is affected by individual IT knowledge, traditional communication, and e-mail communication. Customer performance is affected by above three factors, organizational IT knowledge and internet/EDI communication. Interestingly, financial performance is not affected by traditional communication but only IT knowledge and IT communication.
