  • Solar energy depends on the altitude and azimuth of the sun, and the amount of energy collected on the slope depends on the latitude of the area being installed. However, since most solar heating systems are fixed to the ground, it is necessary to analyze the optimal installation angle from the early design stage. However, problems arise when energy consumption is not considered together because heating systems are not used in the summer In this study, the optimum installation angles of the solar collectors according to the latitude of the installation area are not simply determined by the amount of energy collected, but because the system is overheated due to climate change or energy usage patterns, And the amount of additional energy input.

  • Spot welding is frequently used for industrial purpose, such as automobile and aerospace industries and household appliances due to its high performance. In these day, robotization and systemization of welding process made it possible to produce more precise or smaller electric parts. And when it comes to welding of steel sheet, the size of nugget must be getting smaller. Therefore, welding conditions are limited to avoid defects, such as deformation, damage, weakening of joining area. In this research, the measurement of the nugget size by the nondestructive inspection has been conducted. As a result, the right estimation of the nugget size and void defects, the detection of corona bond near joining area, the selection of the optimum ultrasonic mode, and set up for ultrasonic inspection are studied. From the trustworthy solutions of nugget size estimated by results of measurement, the optimum inspection conditions depending upon the width of welding parts are determined as well.

A Study on the Solid State Diffusion Bonding of Ti-6Al-4V Alloy (Ti-6Al-4V합금의 고상 확산접합에 관한 연구)

  • Solid state diffusion bonding is the joining process performed by creep and diffusion, which is accelerated by heating below melting temperature and proper pressing, in vacuum or shielding gas atmosphere. By this process we can obtain sufficient joint which can't be expected from the fusion welding. For Ti-6Al-4V alloy, the optimum solid state diffusion bonding condition and mechanical properties of the joint were found, and micro void morphology at bond interface was observed by SEM. The results of tensile test showed sufficient joint, whose mechanical properties are similar to that of base metal. 850$^{\circ}$C, 3MPa is considered as the optimum bonding condition. Void morphology at interface is long and flat at the initial stage. As the percentage of bonded area increases, however, small and round voids are found. Variation of void shape can be explained as follows. As for the void shrinkage mechanism, at the initial stage, power law creep is the dominant, but diffusion mechanism is dominant when the percentage of bonded area is increased.

Studies on Salt Intake Through Eat-out Foods in Andong Area (안동 지역에서의 외식을 통한 소금 섭취 실태에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted over eat-nut foods in Andong area to measure the salt concentration and to compare the result with the optimum gustation of salt concentration in usual diets. The results were as follows: 1. Mean salt concentration of eat-nut foods was similar to the optimum salt concentration by sensory evaluation. 2. The salt intake through the menu was about twice of the recommended intake by Korean Food Research. 3. The foods with a large serving size contributed to the increase of salt intake, suggesting that the serving size needs to be adjusted. 4. It is recommended that the consumption of high salt foods needs to be reduced while increasing that of fresh fruit and vegetable in the diet behavior on eat-out foods.

  • The performance of free-breathing polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) was studied experimentally and the effect of cathode separator structure on the cell performance was investigated. Cathode separators were used for the cell with $18cm^2$ active area. In channel type, the contact resistance is low, and the nature convection. which is strongly affected by the cross-sectional shape of cathode separator channel, is dominant in a cell performance. The maximum power density with $18cm^2$ active area is $105mW/cm^2$ using the 10mm depth and 2mm width channel. A computational analysis was optimum structure of free-breathing channel type PEMFC for robotic application.

  • The loss is most important problems for the practical applications of permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM). In this paper, rotor sleeve and stator shape design of high speed permanent magnet motor for loss reduction. First, this paper found optimum sleeve thickness for calculation eddy current loss on the basis of analytical method, because eddy current is influenced by conductivity of material and area. Then, stator shape design is changed as maintain same slot area for reducing stator core loss. Finally, this paper compared analytical result with optimum sleeve thickness obtained from finite element(FE) method, and stator core loss is calculated from FE method.

A Study on Change of the Apartment Storage Space (아파트 수납공간의 양적변화에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out change of the apartments stouge space in Seoul area from 1971 to 1988. It also attempts to compare the storage space in the apartment with the optimum storage space which is suggested by precedent studies on the storage space. Content analysis methods were used to analyze 961 apartment floor plan from the booklet of 'Apartment Information'. The major findings were as follows : 1) According to the precedent studies, optimum storage spaces are 3.86∼7.72㎡ for 66.07∼115.61㎡ house, and 14.23∼20.31㎡ for 115.62∼165.15㎡ house. 2) It was found out that the storage spaces of the apartments were increased until 1977∼80 and decreased after 1980. 3) Comparing the storge space with the optimum standard, most of the apartments have not enough storage space. It offers only 50% of optimum storage space. 4) The percentage of installation of storage space in bedrooms were quite low in general. Specially, bedrooms in small apartment under 66.6㎡ and most master bedrooms didn't storage spaces. 5) The sige of the apartment storage space were variant according to the builder. Only one builder from 8 offered the spaces close to the optimum standrd, and others didn't seem much care for the storage space.

A Study on the Determination of Optimum Level of Payments in the Direct Payment Program for Aquaculture Extruded Pellets (양식업 배합사료 직접지불제의 적정 지원수준 결정에 관한 연구 : 직접지불제의 생산 및 소득효과 분석을 중심으로)

  • This study is aimed at investigating optimum level of payments in the direct payment program for aquaculture extruded pellets both theoretically and practically by analyzing the effects on production and income in accordance with Green Box conditions of WTO Agreement on Agriculture. In particular, by analyzing both effects on production and income, it evaluates and compares payments affecting to the level of production and income, respectively. Analysis results indicate that the optimum level of payments in the direct payment program for aquaculture extruded pellets is determined by the growth rate of farmed fish, farming period, price and volume of extruded pellets, and additional amount of cost increase and decrease. Suppose that growth rates of farmed fish by extruded pellets(EP) and raw fish - based moist pellets(MP) are the same, it reveals the optimum level of payment should be lowered from the current level of payment. However, when the growth rate of farmed fish by EP is lower than that by MP, the optimum level of payment should be raised from the current level and total amount of payments by area should be increased as well.
