Biosynthesis of Rhamnosylated Anthraquinones in Escherichia coli

  • Rhamnose is a naturally occurring deoxysugar present as a glycogenic component of plant and microbial natural products. A recombinant mutant Escherichia coli strain was developed by overexpressing genes involved in the TDP-ʟ-rhamnose biosynthesis pathway of different bacterial strains and Saccharothrix espanaensis rhamnosyl transferase to conjugate intrinsic cytosolic TDP-ʟ-rhamnose with anthraquinones supplemented exogenously. Among the five anthraquinones (alizarin, emodin, chrysazin, anthrarufin, and quinizarin) tested, quinizarin was biotransformed into a rhamoside derivative with the highest conversion ratio by whole cells of engineered E. coli. The quinizarin glycoside was identified by various chromatographic and spectroscopic analyses. The anti-proliferative property of the newly synthesized rhamnoside, quinizarin-4-O-α-ʟ-rhamnoside, was assayed in various cancer cells.

  • Development of Moon Explorer-1 (orbiter) is supposed to be commenced in 2017 and launched in 2020. In case of Moon Explorer-2 (lander), it would be slated to start in 2021 and launch in 2025. In this paper conceptual feasibility studies are conducted for the propulsion system applicable to a Moon Explorer. In the first place the availability of monopropellant/bipropellant/electric propulsion system is examined with domestic as well as overseas precedents. Secondly ${\Delta}V$ is estimated by the mission analysis and the propellant budget is calculated accordingly. Subsequently feasibility of a chemical propulsion system for a Moon Explorer is evaluated.

  • The DongDeaMoon fashion market was carried out the core role of low price distribution as production and selling illuviation of fashion merchandise. However, the unique and successful fashion merchandising system of DongDeaMoon fashion market has been seriously threatened by consumer need changes as well as by an increased competition from new types of retail stores such as fast fashion brands and online shopping malls. Therefore, this study reviewed the policies for DongDeaMoon fashion market carried out by Seoul Metropolitan City and formulated the policies for strengthening competitiveness of DongDeaMoon fashion market.

  • A pattern density function using simulation analysis for controlling LGP output distribution was proposed. The pattern density function was found as [Pexp(-y/70)+Qexp(+y/25)]R. We analyzed the LGP output distribution of a hemi-sphere pattern using the function and then found that its output distribution was clearly improved as compared with that of the equi-distance pattern.   • 염분농도에 따른 발아특성은 쪽제비싸리, Perennial ryegrass의 경우 $0.4\%$ 이상 NaCl 농도에서 발아율과 유아 및 유근 길이가 급격히 감소하였으며, Creeping red fescue는 $0.2\%$ 이상 NaCl 농도에서 매우 급격한 생육저하가 일어났다. 외래초종의 초장 분석결과 Mixture III> Mixture IV> Mixture II> Mixture I의 순이었고, 재래 초$\cdot$목본의 경우는 외래초종의 초장이 길수록 길이가 짧아지는 경향을 나타냈으며, Mixture I> Mixture II> Mixture IV> Mixture III의 순이었다.

  • A biotransformation approach using microbes as biocatalysts can be an efficient tool for the targeted modification of existing antibiotic chemical scaffolds to create previously uncharacterized therapeutic agents. By employing a recombinant Streptomyces venezuelae strain as a microbial catalyst, a reduced macrolide, 10,11-dihydrorosamicin, was created from rosamicin macrolide. Its chemical structure was spectroscopically elucidated, and the new rosamicin analog showed 2-4-fold higher antibacterial activity against two strains of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus compared with its parent rosamicin. This kind of biocatalytic approach is able to expand existing antibiotic entities and can also provide more diverse therapeutic resources.

  • 임베디드 시스템은 현재 가전, 단말, 제어, 통신등 다양한 분야에서 응용되고 있으며 컴퓨터 관련 기술의 발전과 더불어 응용분야는 더욱 넓어질 것이다. 이러한 임베디드 시스템의 관리나 테스트를 위해 모니터링 프로그램이 필요하다. 임베디드 시스템은 일반 PC 시스템과 달리 많은 제약을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 자원적 제약을 가진 임베디드에 활용되어지는 NFS를 이용한 임베디드 장비 모니터링에 적합한 MONETA(distributed MONitoring for Embedded TArget system)를 설계, 구현하였다. MONETA에서 제시하는 구조는 모니터링을 위한 서버, 모니터링하는 대상인 클라이언트, 시스템 사용자의 3계층 구조의 분산 모니터링 시스템으로 각 장비별 CPU, Moemory, Disk, 트래픽량을 그래프로 나타도록 구현된다.

  • 컴퓨터의 발전과 함께 음악 프로그램을 이용한 작곡 작업은 전문가부터 일반인에게 이르기까지 사용자의 폭을 넓혀왔다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 작곡 작업을 보다 효과적으로 하기 위하여 다양한 방안을 모색하였다. 단순한 텍스트 기반의 음악 검색이 아닌 미디(Midi) 분석엔진 기반의 다양한 검색방법을 설계하였으며 이를 기반으로 통합 음악제작/검색 솔루션을 구현하였다. 또한, 휴대성(Portability)을 위하여 MS 사의 WindowsPhone7 플랫폼 기반의 어플리케이션 구현을 통해 PC기반의 프로그램을 모바일 환경에서 작동 및 사용할 수 있도록 구현하였다.
