SERVQUAL을 활용한 한국고속철도의 고객만족도 평가분석 (Measuring Customer Satisfaction for KTX(Korea Train Express) Service using SERVQUAL)

  • The era of express train in Korea has come since April in 2004. The KTX(Korea Train Express) which has introduced the technology of TGV of France is regraded as good as the ICE of Germany or Shinkansen of Japanese in its hardware aspects. However there are still many things to be improved in its software aspects such as the quality of services, since the new express railway system is in the early beginning stage. To improve the quality of services, we should first measure and analyze the current level of the service quality. Using SERVQUAL model, the service level of KTX is measured and analyzed in this paper. Issues on how to improve the service quality are discussed based on the measurement and analysis.

고속철도 서비스품질에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Service Quality of Korea Train Express)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the dimensions of service quality of Korea Train Express(KTX) and to compare the service quality of KTX with that of general train. The researcher consisted of initial 32 items representing eight-dimension and analyzed the final quality dimensions of KTX. The collected data of passenger of 226 was analyzed by statistical procedures such as the iterative sequence of computing Cronbach's a, corrected item-to total correlations, and factor analyses. Through the repeated statistical process to puritY the items, a final set of 26 items representing six district dimensions; tangibles, timely responsiveness, empathy, comfort, information access and safety. The Results of independent samples t-test showed that the mean scores of all the service quality dimensions of KTX except for comfort were higher than those of general train. This finding will provide the more appropriate instrument to measure the KTX service quality as well as to improve the passengers' perception of the service quality.

KTX 기장의 직무부하 경감을 위한 운전업무 개선 방안에 대한 연구 (A study on the improvement of operation process to lighten duty-load of the critical tasks of KTX train driver)

  • This study suggest a way to improve duty process of KTX(Korea Train Express) high-speed train driver. A new operating system which based on safety was introduced to operate high-speed train which travel above 300km/h on the high-speed railroad but below 200km/h on the general railroad. There were some studies on the operation of high-speed train which travel on the high-speed railroad and on the general railroad with safety. However they overlooked the elements of human errors. The duty-load of KTX train driver's 14 basic operation processes was measured using NASA-TLX and found four processes with high duty-load. In this paper, critical tasks of the high duty-load processes are determined using a questionnaire. Some suggestions which include the improvement of facilities, operating system and operating skill are proposed to lighten duty-load of the critical tasks. The validity of the proposed new task processes is demonstrated by making question to KTX train driver. To use this results cost-benefit analysis, hazards analysis etc. should be performed additionally.

  • High-speed trains with maximum speed of 300km/h, named KTX, have started revenue services since April 2004. Is becoming big problem where currently the KTX train because excessive braking noise at a station platform. The KTX braking noise follows in operating mode of KTX train and important railroad station where the quality appears different, the quality against hereupon from the commerce vehicle from the research which it sees it executes and comparison to analyze.

  • Recently, Statistical Energy Analysis(SEA) is being increasingly applied to describe vibro-acoustic behavior of complex structures, such as air plane, automobile, ship, building. In this paper, we discuss the application of SEA to predict the interior noise for KTX train. To validate the SEA model of KTX train, calculated the interior noise for motorized car is compared to measured one. Finally, the reduction measures of interior noise for KTX are also discussed.

공항철도연계 구간의 고속열차(KTX)와 전동열차(AREX) 혼용운용에 따른 ATP지상설비간 상호간섭 영향에 관한 연구 (Study on the mutual interference of mixed mode operation between KTX and AREX train at the airport linked line)

  • 공항 철도 연계 시설 확충 사업에 따라 수색역구내에서 공항 철도로 연결선(L=2.2km)을 건설하고 신호 시스템 및 정거장을 개량하여 경의선 수색역에서 공항 철도로 경부선 및 호남선 고속열차(KTX)를 직결 운행 할 수 있도록 하였다. KTX/AREX 열차의 혼용 운행에 따른 AREX 전동 열차의 신호 시스템은 기존과 동일한 ATC /ATO 방식으로 운행하고 KTX 고속 열차는 ERTMS/ETCS L1 ATP 방식을 신설하여 운행하기로 하였으나 "고속 열차(KTX)와 공항 철도의 지상 신호 설비" 간 및 "공항 철도 차량(AREX)과 고속 열차용 ATP 시스템 지상 설비간 상호 간섭 등의 문제점으로 인하여 고속 열차 운행이 불가능하게 되었다. 이에 공항 철도 비콘과 KTX 열차용 발리스의 특성을 비교 분석한 결과 상호 간섭에 대한 기술적 보완이 필요함을 확인하게 되었다. 따라서 이러한 복합적인 문제의 해결과 기술적 타당성을 확인하기 위해 3가지 유형의 시험 모듈로 실제의 열차를 이용하여 시험을 함으로서 "고속열차(KTX)와 공항 철도 지상 신호 설비간" 및 "공항 철도 전동차(AREX)와 고속 열차용 ATP시스템 지상 설비" 간 상호 간섭 등의 문제점을 해소하고자 한다.

  • New high-speed rail service, the Korea Train Express(KTX), has been beginning service in Korea. We measured the service quality of the Korea Train Express and comparatively analyzed the service quality of domestic flight and express buses which are means of long distance transportation. Furthermore, by using the Kano model, the perception level of the service of customers is not only segmented in groups but also switching barriers are derived. As a result, the customers by group have a difference in the level of their perception. While in both high-speed bullet train service and flights dimensions significantly affect the customer satisfaction and retention excluding a responsiveness dimension, in the Train Express four dimensions(Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, Tangibles) with the exception of Empathy which significantly affect the customer satisfaction and retention.

  • 고속철도 (KTX) 개통으로 인해 전국이 반나절 생활권으로 편입되면서 지역의 사회, 경제, 문화 등 여러 분야에 다양한 영향을 미친 것으로 알려져 있다. 최근 KTX 개통 후 정차도시와 그 주변지역에 대한 여러 가지 변화가 관측되어 지면서 그 영향에 대한 여러 가지 연구가 이루어져 왔는데, 지역의 생산 및 고용 확대, 운송 수단간 수요 대체효과, 기업의 지방이전 및 수도권 기능의 분산을 통한 국토의 균형 개발, 그리고 고속철도 이용에 따른 시간비용 절감을 통한 여러가지 사회 경제적 비용 축소 등에 영향을 준 것으로 알려져 있다. 또한 최근에는 KTX역 중심의 관광 네트워크를 통한 지역 관광 여가 산업의 발전과 지역 문화 예술 인적 교류 활성화를 통한 삶의 질 향상에 관한 연구도 활발하다. 본 연구에서는 지역별 가계최종소비지출에 대한 공간패널모형을 이용하여 KTX 개통을 통한 고속철도망 연결이 지역경제의 소비활동에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지를 알아보고자 한다. 이를 위해 독립변수로는 지역별 임금소득, 주택매매가격지수, 그리고 실질금리 등을 사용되었고, KTX에 의해서 연결되어 있는지 유무에 따라 공간 자기상관 행렬을 고려하였다.
