만푸레도 타푸리의 이데올로기 비평과 건축의 실천에 대한 사상의 연구 (Manfredo Tafuri's Ideological Criticism in Architecture and the Problem of Architectural Practice)

  • Manfredo Tafuri's Ideological criticism in architecture has opened a new horizon to interpreting architecture in modern capitalist architecture for it views architecture not just as a style or formal invention, but in terms of socio-economical process. It offered a comprehensive understanding of a chaotic situation of contemporary architecture and historical meaning modern architectural movements in relation with capitalistic development. However, it has been criticized as architectural pessimism which does not allow any possibility for progressive architectural practice. It was also criticized of epistemological problem of how one could be outside ideology without assuming true consciousness against false consciousness of ideology. Tafuri solves this problem by assuming Althusserian activist concept of knowledge and suggest the concept of labor of writing history of critical historians, instead of a design for utopian society, as a possible critical architectural practice. However, I argue that ultimately ideological criticism does not deny architectural practice itself, nor researches on formal characteristics of architecture. The problem lies rather in the architectural Intellectuals' attachment to the traditional concept of architect as a form giver to the society. By rejecting this myth and broadening the concept of architectural practice from design to production, we can find that Ideological problem is not architectural pessimism, but rather it opens up a new way of approaching to the problem of architectural practice in modern capitalist society.

색의 공간 구성적 차원에 관한 색채해석학적 연구 (A chroma-hermeneutical Study on the Space-constituitive Dimension of Color)

  • This study consists of two parts, in which the traditional discourses about light and color are analysed hermeneutically, The first part deals with the optical and chromatic discourse that stands in the same context with the aesthetic, and the second with the analysis of color phenomenon that is constituitive of space. From the ancient time the basic parameters of the conceptual thinking such as the virtual, simulacrum, have sticked to the inevitable status, which mediates to represent the original that can never present by oneself. In modern times this specificity of the virtual could have been connected with the problem, how and by which means objects can be perceived and grasped in itself. Among the barometers to the problem ‘color’ or ‘color perception’ has been regarded as the distinct one, in which the relationship between the image and the identifying of this one, the relationship between the perceived image and the perceiving subject and the problem of the spatiality of color and surface can be dwelled on. Through the explication of the chromatic and aesthetic discourse it can be recognized that color, surface and space are interacted with one another. Colors on the surface are not only the dynamic interpoints between the memory and the forgetfulness, but also the virtual interfaces, in which the spatialising actions happen incessantly. At this point it can be illuminated that the space-constituitive dimension of color is correlative with the dimension of chromatic effects of spatialising. Therefore color as well as surface as the spatial happening must be apprehended as the one, which constitutes the spatialising and at the same time varies and shifts itself into another on the purpose of the other spatialising.

줄 인형의 2차원 이동 및 회전을 위한 자석기반 전 방향 로봇시스템 (Omni-directional Mobile Robot for 2D Translation and Rotation of a Puppet using Magnet)

  • Marionette controlling robot has a problem that generates interference in rotation and intersection, therefore, the research on the independent shifter to move freely on the stage is required. Connecting omni-directional mobile robot with marionette controlling robot can solve this problem. Omni-directional mobile robot makes itself rotate and translate in 2D plane freely. Magnetic device is used to connect the moving part with the control part of the robot to minimize the intereference generated by the movement of robot. When robot moves, it can move to all directions with the suitalbe setting of banlance power. The moment of inertia is minimized by dividing the robot to the upper and lower parts in the marionette performance stage. Rotation and interference problem of independent omni-wheel Robot can be solved by using the permanent magnet. The efficiency and safety of the marionette controlling robot is proved by the experiment.

  • When the structure supporting the rotor as well as the rotor itself is in the resonant range, it cause the vibration problem. Although the static characteristics of structures was considered during the design process, we must consider the resonance problem between the excitation(the main revolution frequency of the rotor) between the dynamic characteristics of its structures. This paper presents we improved the dynamic characteristic of a bearing support system to remove a resonance problem so that stabilized the turbine-generator system.

연역적 문제만들기 방법의 구체화와 활용 (A Concretization and Application of Deductive Problem Making Method)

  • 수학과 교육과정에서 수학 문제해결력 신장, 수학 문제만들기 등이 꾸준히 강조되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 Brown & Walter가 제안한 what-if-not 방법과는 다른 방향의 문제만들기 방법을 연구하였다. 여기서 다루는 문제만들기 방법에서는 출발점 문제의 문제해결 과정을 분석하여 그 구성 요소들을 변화시키며, 얻어진 변화를 바탕으로 문제해결 과정을 역으로 거슬러 올라가면서 새로운 문제, 즉 출발점 문제를 변형시킨 문제를 만들었다. 이러한 순서로 문제를 만들면, 문제해결 과정으로부터 새로운 변형된 문제가 유도될 수 있다. 즉, 문제해결 과정이 문제에 선행하게 되며, 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제만들기 방법을 연역적 문제만들기라고 명명하였다. 특히, 연역적 문제만들기의 다양한 사례들, 특징들을 구체적으로 제시하였으며, 치환을 이용하여 로그가 포함된 방정식으로부터 지수, 무리식, 삼각함수가 포함된 방정식 등을 만드는 과정을 소개하였다. 연역적 문제만들기는 문제해결의 반성 단계에서 문제해결 결과를 검증하고 확장하는 활동과 관련될 수 있으며, 수학 교사가 개념 정착, 복습 등과 같은 교수학적 목적에 따라 기존 문제를 변형시킬 때도 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Teaching-Learning Model for Programming Language Learning with Two-Step Feedback

  • In this paper, we propose a new teaching-learning model with two-step feedback on programming language learning, which is a basic preliminary learning for programming. Programming learning is aimed at improving problem solving skills and thinking by experiencing problem solving through programming. For programming, the learner must know how to work with the computer and what to do with it. To do this, concrete thinking should be established and described in an accurate programming language. In recent, most studies have focused on the effects of programming learning and have not studied the effects of education on language itself. Therefore, in this study, the teaching-learning model for programming language education is presented and applied to the field, and the results are compared with the existing instructional-teaching model.

  • This paper discusses a new method of recognizing patterns employing consistent labeling. A consistent labeling problem is a generalized expression of constraint satisfaction problems. When a pattern is recognized by pattern matching, the matching between a reference pattern and an acquired pattern resolves itself into finding correspondence between the pixels on the former and those on the latter. This can be expressed as a consistent labeling problem. Pattern association, a variation of pattern recognition, is also described employing consistent labeling. The proposed technique is supported by experimental results, yet further studies need to be done before its practical use.

수학영재학생들과 일반학생들의 학습관련 인식과 정의적 특성 비교 (Comparison of Mathematically Gifted Students and Non-gifted Students in Perception of Learning Environments and Affective Characteristics)

  • The purpose of this research was to compare mathematically gifted students with non-gifted students in perception of learning environments, learning ability beliefs, and preference for problem-solving and task. Thirty-seven mathematically gifted students and 75 general students in middle school completed questionnaires about perceptions about mathematics. Data were analyzed by ${\chi}^2$ test and t-test. Compared with general students, mathematically gifted students estimated their talents for mathematics higher, studied mathematics more, expended more time and effort to solving difficult problems, put learning mathematics itself as their primary purpose for studying mathematics and regarded inappropriate environments as the major obstacle to mathematics study. Mathematically gifted students perceived their parents' support higher, solved problem creatively, and had higher preference for challenging tasks.

  • 오늘날 스포츠, RTS, RPG 게임과 같이 멀티 플레이어가 한 팀을 이루는 집단형 방식의 게임은 팀 인공지능 기술이 더욱 필요하다. 기존의 독립적인 지능형 에이전트는 스스로 문제를 해결하는 자율성 향상 연구에 치중하였으나, 이는 다른 에이전트간의 협동 및 상호작용 능력이 부족하다. 이를 위해 본 논문은 다중에이전트 시스템에서 효과적인 역할 분담과 자율성을 갖는 레벨통합 접근방식을 소개한다. 복잡한 목표를 성취하기 위해 에이전트의 역할 정보를 이용하여 각자의 목표를 할당하고 각 에이전트는 맡은 역할을 동적인 환경에서 스스로 판단하고 행동한다. 팀 전체의 목표는 상호 보완된 역할 분담의 전략적인 측면에서 조정한다. 각 에이전트는 데이터보드를 이용하여 서로의 상태 정보를 공유하여 상호 협동을 유도한다. 역할이 할당된 각 에이전트는 스스로 계획기능을 갖고 있어 동적인 환경에서 적합한 행동을 취한다. 이 협동과 상호작용 과정에서 충돌의 문제점이 발생하는데 이를 제어하는 조정 에이전트의 역할을 전략적 측면에서 접근한다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 레벨통합 접근방식이 기존의 중앙 집권적 접근방식, 분권적 접근방식과 비교 실험하여 기존 방식보다 성능이 향상됨을 보인다.

Mathematics across the Curriculum - Educational Reform as a Problem Solving Activity -

  • During the past 20 years, a small but potentially powerful initiative has established itself in the mathematics education landscape: Mathematics Across the Curriculum (MAC). This curricular reform movement was designed to address a serious problem: Not only are students unable to demonstrate understanding of mathematical ideas and their applications, but also they harbor misconceptions about the meaning and purpose of mathematics. This paper chronicles the brief history of the MaC movement. The sections of the paper correspond loosely tn the typical steps one might take to solve a mathematics problem. The Problem Takes Shape presents a discussion of the social and economic forces that led to the need for increased articulation between mathematics and other fields in the American educational system. Understanding the Problem presents the potential value of exploiting these connections throughout the curriculum and the obstacles such action might encounter. Devising a Plan provides an overview of the support systems provided to early MAC initiatives by government and professional organizations. Implementing the Plan contains a brief description of early collegiate programs, their approaches and their differences. Extending the Solution details the adoption of MAC principles to the K-12 sector and throughout the world. The paper concludes with Retrospective, a brief discussion of lessons learned and possible next steps.
