A good arithmetic random number generator should possess full period, uniformity and independence, etc. To obtain the excellent random number generator, many researchers have found good parameters. Also an initial seed is the important factor in random number generator. But, there is no theoretical guideline for using the initial seeds. Therefore, random number generator is usually used with the arbitrary initial seed. Through the empirical tests, we show that the choice of the initial values for the seed is important to generate good random numbers.

A multi-echelon structure of manufacturing and distribution system in considered, where the raw materials are transformed into a finished good through a number to manufacturing echelons and it is distributed to the lower echelons(retailers, or customers). The raw material, work-in-process, finished good inventory and the distribution costs are unified into one model. The objective is to determine the ordering policy of raw materials, manufacturing lot size, the number of sub-batch and the distribution policy of the finished good which minimize the annual total system cost. A computer program for a heuristic search technique is developed, by which a numerical example is examined.

This paper studies the evaluation of mechanical design plans through fuzzy cluster. Plans are classified into two sets, 'good' and 'bad'. The membership of a plan to the 'good' set is numerically equal to the distance to the 'bad' set. The central parameter of the 'good' set is defined as '1', and that of the 'bad' set '0'. This will greatly simplify calculations. The result of the calculating example proves the method available.

The purpose of this study is to explore and classify the types of the attitude on a good death of nurses in long-term care hospitals. Q-methodology, which is effective in scientifically measuring individual subjectivity, was used. 151 Q-population were selected through the processes of review of research articles, newspaper articles and interviews. 34 Q-sample were selected from the 151 Q-population and 27 nurses in long-term care hospitals were invited as the P sample. The result of the Q-sort was analyzed using PC QUANL Program. The types of attitude on a good death of nurses in long-term care hospitals was categorized into three. 1) Death in supportive environment 2) a comfortable death in real life 3) Dignity guaranteed death By identifying 3 attitude patterns toward a good death of long-term hospital nurses, this study provides an opportunity for their reflection and recognition toward a good death based on this result and suggests to think about ways to improve the quality of nursing in the current increasing long-term hospitals.

Objective : The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of oriental medical treatments for neonates in the Postpartum care center. Methods : This clinical study was carried out with the 186 neonates who admitted to the Postpartum Care Center of Conmaul Oriental Medicine Hospital, from November, 2003 to May, 2004. The data of sex, delivery method, gestation age, birthweight, symptoms, herbal prescription, improved condition and other treatments was collected via the medical charts. Results : Among 186 newborn babies, 48 cases had diarrhea. We used Gwakhyangjeonggi-san for 31 cases, Bulwhangumjeongnggi-san for 5 cases, compound prescription of the two for 8 cases. The effect of treatment was excellent for 25 cases, good for 11 cases, not good for 8 cases. In fever, there were 39 cases. We used Gwakhyangjeonggi-san and venesection of blood for 17 cases, only venesection of blood for 20 cases, and only Gwakhyangjeongg-isan for 3 cases. The effect of treatment was excellent for 37 cases, good for 3 cases. In cold, there were 4 cases. We used Samsoum for 1 case, Socheongryong-tang for 3 cases. The effect of treatment was excellent for 2 cases, good for 1 case, not good for 1 case. Conclusions : This study shows oriental medical treatments like acupucture, herbal medicine, and venesection of blood for neonates have significant effects. we will need further prospective studies about effects of these oriental medical treatments.

This study was conducted to investigate the sanitation status and food waste state from 220 restaurant owners in Taejon area by questionnaires. As a result, the restaurant owners had proper knowledges on the purposes of the good menu system which is to prove public sanitation and to reduce food waste by changing present food service style. According to the restaurant management characteristics study, the subjects recognized highly for the importance of cleanliness(4.6), taste(4.5) where diversity of portion size(3.9), attractiveness(4.0) were low. 86.3% of the subjects mentioned great reductions in food waste after practicing good menu system. Also the subjects recognized the necessity for further researches on this field. After practicing good menu system in restaurant, their food waste was reduced.

`Kyukonyoram Dyusikbang` is an old cooking book hand-written in Korean by unknown writer, housed in Shinam-mungo of the Korea university. This book introduces Tojungbigyul and Dyusikbang(the part about food), and explains in detail how to handle emergency cases at home, take care of women who deliver a baby and give it name and so on. It can be summarized as follows. (1) 29 'Koi's seem to keep unexpected accidents and encourage people to enjoy stable life at home. (2) In this book are not only 27 ways of how to make liquors but also ways of how to cook dishes using 12 kinds of food with cold water and one kind of rice cakes. (3) It says good yeast is critical for good quality liquors and also emphasizes the. taste of good 'Jang' to enhance the taste of other food and the importance of having basic food materials and spices at home. (4) It describes in detail the day of good or ill luck while mentioning how to name a baby. It can be seen that there were somethings that were considered especially important such as the process of making Jang, the day of placing the rooftop, or the good or ill luck of people.

We studied the nematic liquid crystal (NLC) alignment capability with a new alignment method utilizing an inkjet printed polyimide (PI) layer. A good, uniform LC alignment was achieved by the good PI printing using a new alignment method. The pretilt angle generated on the printed PI layer using the alignment method was almost the same as that on printed PI layer using rubbing alignment method. In addition, the good electro-optical performances of the new aligned twisted nematic (TN) cell with printed PI surface was obtained

Synovial hemangioma of the knee joint has been reported as a rare cause of pain, limitation of motion and hemarthrosis, often seen as an internal derangement of the knee. A 39-year-old woman presented with spontaneous hemarthrosis of the left knee joint and physical exam revealed a small painful mass adjacent to the medial side of the patella. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed an intra-articular tumor. Arthroscopic excision was performed and the histology was characteristic of hemangioma. Through this case, we discuss the diagnosis and treatment options for the synovial hemangioma of the knee.
