  • Recently, demand for technology for energy economy and stable supply is increasing due to the increase in power demand of loads. The amount of DC power generation using new and renewable energy is noticeably increasing, and the use of DC power supplies is also increasing due to the increase in electric vehicles and digital loads. During parallel operation to increase the capacity of the power converter, the module bus method or the method using Can communication and serial communication has significant difficulties in smooth operation due to communication time delay for information sharing. Synchronization of information sharing of each power converter is essential for smooth parallel operation, and minimization of communication time delay is urgently needed as a way to overcome this problem. In this paper, a new communication method using pulse width information is proposed as a communication method specialized for parallel operation of power converters to compensate for the disadvantage of communication transmission delay in the existing system. The proposed communication method has the advantage of being easily implemented using the PWM and Capture function of the microcomputer. In addition, the DC/DC converter for DC distribution was verified through simulation and experiment, and it has the advantage of easy capacity expansion when applied to parallel operation of various types of power converters as well as DC/DC converters.

  • Industrial Revolution is a concept and a development that has fundamentally changed our society and economy. Industry 4.0 focuses on the end-to-end digitization of all physical assets and integration into digital ecosystems with value chain partners. At present, we find ourselves at the beginning of this fourth stage, which is characterized by so-called "Cyber-Physical Systems". These systems are a consequence of the far-reaching integration of production, sustainability and customer-satisfaction forming the basis of intelligent network systems and processes. If South Korea ran toward global ICT with the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, North Korea has adhered to a unique Juche science and technology. ICT in South Korea and North Korea seems very difficult to find common interests. However, as seen in the Internet and intranets, information and communication technology can find similarities in many areas than in general science and technology. There are many differences not only in the level of ICT and science and technology but also in the direction. And IT terminology and all technologies are also different. What are we preparing for the unification of North and South Korea? If we look at the science and technology sector at present, there seems to be no systematic preparation by the government. South Korea and North Korea need to be prepared for science and technology cooperation. First, it is necessary to understand the exact situation of North Korea's science and technology. In this study, we will perform research to establish mid and long term plans for revitalization of ICT cooperation between the two Koreas. In this study, we will determine the extent to which the two Koreas utilize ICT based on available ICT capabilities and technologies. To do this, we conducted research to measure and evaluate the ICT development index of North Korea using ICT international index.

  • The genus Paenibacillus contains a variety of biologically active compounds that have potential applications in a range of fields, including medicine, agriculture, and livestock, playing an important role in the health and economy of society. Our study focused on the bacterium SS4T (KCTC 43402T = GDMCC 1.3498T), which was characterized using a polyphasic taxonomic approach. This strain was analyzed using antiSMASH, BAGEL4, and PRISM to predict the secondary metabolites. Lassopeptide clusters were found using all three analysis methods, with the possibility of secretion. Additionally, PRISM found three biosynthetic gene clusters (BGC) and predicted the structure of the product. Genome analysis indicated that glucoamylase is present in SS4T. 16S rRNA sequence analysis showed that strain SS4T most closely resembled Paenibacillus marchantiophytorum DSM 29850T (98.22%), Paenibacillus nebraskensis JJ-59T (98.19%), and Paenibacillus aceris KCTC 13870T (98.08%). Analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequences and Type Strain Genome Server (TYGS) analysis revealed that SS4T belongs to the genus Paenibacillus based on the results of the phylogenetic analysis. As a result of the matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF/MS) results, SS4T was determined to belong to the genus Paenibacillus. Comparing P. marchantiophytorum DSM 29850T with average nucleotide identity (ANI 78.97%) and digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH 23%) revealed values that were all less than the threshold for bacterial species differentiation. The results of this study suggest that strain SS4T can be classified as a Paenibacillus andongensis species and is a novel member of the genus Paenibacillus.

  • In the 21st century, both globalization and e-Transformation trends of business in China have been in progress simultaneously and very rapidly. Due to those phenomena, there is consequently big change not only in the field of political-economy but also in the cultural trend of the world. But, despite of the importance of mutual cooperation between Korea and China, the research about Chinese cyber culture is neglected relatively. The purpose of this study is to review the cyber cultural aspect of business between two countries, and to devise proper measures for cultural cooperation not only reengineering the role of two countries but developing mutual benefit in East Asia in the era of global competition. The methodology used in this study is basically depending on theoretical study. Major findings are as follows: China has some cyber-cultural characteristics like very big size of netizen, heaven on earth of counterfeit, deepening in digital divide, etc. And Chinese traditional off-line culture has changed as the cyber culture spreaded over in cyberspace recently. But, on the other hand, cultural trends are changed to homogeneity both in nation-side which is between Korea and China and in space-side which is between online and offline culture. It is recommended that Korea and China have to endeavor to understand mutual culture, and to utilize the cyber culture in the respect of business cooperation. Consequently, two countries should effort to prepare exchange program for both netizen group, to design culture-networking system, to strengthen cyber-cultural marketing, and to make good use of both Korean Cultural Wave(said Han-Ryu) and Chinese Cultural Wave(said Hwa-Ryu).

  • A number of previous studies have maintained that information technologies, due to their ability to overcome distance, can nurturing an innovative class of polycentric urban configurations, i.e., network cities. The present study intends to clarify whether any network relationship has recently been emerged among Korean cities by the advancement of information technology. The analyses focused on the geography of Korean national domains (.kr domains), and the hyperlink associations among three major types of domains, namely commercial, academic, and organizational domains. The study findings altogether indicate that the advancement of global economy and information era appears to be enhancing, rather than reducing the status of primate city. Seoul dominates the entire nation, forming an enclave in the production and consumption of information. Only the domains of educational institutes show network-like relations among local centers to a certain extent. The paper concludes with a discussion on the implications of the findings for future research and ‘spatial’ policy measures.

  • The 18650 battery cell is known to be reliable and cost effective, but it has a design limitation and low electric capacity compared to pouch-type cells. Because its economy is superior, an 18650-cell-type battery pack is chosen. A reliable temperature is very important in automobile battery packs. Therefore, in this study, the temperature stability of the battery pack is predicted using CFD simulation. Following 3C discharge tests, the results for the heat generation of the battery cell are compared to the simulation results. Based on these results, a natural convection condition, forced convection condition, direct cell-cooling condition, cooling condition on the upper and lower surfaces of the battery pack, and cooling condition using air channels are all simulated. The results indicate that the efficiency and the performance of the air-channel-type cooling system is good.

  • Simulation has been evolved with the advance of computer and technique of modeling application systems. Early simulations were numerical analysis of engineering models known as continuous simulation, analysis of random events using various random number generators thus named as Monte Carlo simulation, iud analysis o(\\\\`queues which are prevalent in many real world systems including manufacturing, transportation, telecommunication. Discrete-event simulation has been used far modeling and analyzing the systems with waiting lines and inefficient delays. These simulations, either discrete-event, continuous, or hybrid, have played a key role in industrial age by helping to design and implement the efficient real world systems. In the information age which has been brought up by the advent of Internet, e-business has emerged. E-business, any business using Internet, can be characterized by the network of extended enterprises---extended supply and demand chains. The extension of value chains spans far reaching scope in business functions and space globally. It also extends to the individual customer, customer preferences and behaviors, to find the best service and product fit for each individual---mass customization. Simulation should also play a key role in analyzing and evaluating the various phenomena of e-business where the phenomena can be characterized by dynamics, uncertainty, and complexity. In this tutorial, applications of simulation to e-business phenomena will be explained and illustrated. Examples are the dynamics of new economy, analysis of e-business processes, virtual manufacturing system, digital divide phenomena, etc. Partly influenced by e-business, a new trend of simulation has emerged called agent-based simulation, Agent-based simulation is a technique of simulation using software agent that have autonomy and proactivity which are useful in analyzing and integrating numerous individual customer's behavior. One particular form of agent-based simulation is swarm. • The digital economy era is a knowledge-based society. Many organizations have been establishing KMS (Knowledge Management System), and there are no exceptions in military ones. In this study, we analyze the influencing factors for KMS utilization in a military organization, which is a specialized one. For this purpose, we investigate the current status of KMS of ROKAF (Republic Of Korea Air Force), derive problems and issues, and try to find out solutions for the KMS utilization in military organizations by analyzing a survey. At first, we derive three characteristics of the military organization that affect the knowledge sharing : formalization of organization, trust of organizational culture, and top management's will. And we verified that the users, who recognize that the top management has the will for the knowledge sharing, have high recognition for the knowledge sharing and utilize KMS more than others. This study shows that it is very important for the top management to participate in the knowledge sharing voluntarily especially in the military organization.
