  • Recently many efforts on the development of automatic processing system for delivery sequence sorting have been performed in ETRI , which requires the use of postal 4-state bar code system to encode delivery points. The 4-state bar code called postal 4-state bar code for high speed processing that has been specifically designed for information processing of logistics and automatic processing of the mail items. This paper describes a method of Reed-Solomon encoding for creating error correction codeword of 4-state bar code.

  • This paper is keeping with the general pattern of automatic acquisition and interpretation of geographical digital data. Maps of the Institut Geographique National of France are built up with four so-called "mother" maps represented by four colors. The green one deals with the vegetation. In a green layer, woods, bushes, vines. fields and boundaries of domanial forests or nature reserves are represented by different synthetic textures We present here an original method of texture analysis applied to the automatic interpretation of vegetation belts.

  • This paper presents the linguistic processing for the Automatic Interpretation system between English/Korean language pair. We introduce two machine translation systems, each for English-to-Korean and Korean-to-English, describe the system configuration and several characteristics, and discuss the translation evaluation results.

  • 1. Objectives This is the comparative study with hand-operated measurement method & Automatic measurement method, in order to convert the automatic measurement method. 2. Methods We measured the body of patients(hand-operated width 5 places and hand-operated circumference 8 places, Automatic width 5 places) and analyzed the anthropometric data dividing into sex, age, BMI. 1057 patients's data are used in the analysis. 3. Results and Conclusions 1) 5th Width variable which was measured during lying down was not a sasang constitutional difference. 2) Diagnostic accuracy rate of the body measurement by Width which was measured during lying down and Width which IBS standing was 40-60%. 3) Diagnostic accuracy rate of Automatic & hand-operated measuring was not a big difference.

  • Recently, CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) technology has been widely applied to various area such as video conference, file transfer, voice mail, automatic message transfer and automatic redial, integrated messaging and network fax. In this paper, an administrative affairs supporting system using call control mode of CTI is designed. To improve inefficient processing of job due to heavy calling from entrance candidates during entrance examination of a college, the system is developed. The database of the system is desigend using object modeling technique. Also, the automatic calling and response system using CTI call control mode is implemented. Especially, to interface with voice of candidates who ask whether they pass or fail the entrance examination of the college, TTS(Text To Speech) module is developed.

  • Relaxed Static Stability(RSS) has been applied to improve flight performance of modern version supersonic jet fighters. Flight control systems are necessary to stabilize an unstable aircraft and to provide adequate handling qualities. Also, flight control systems of modern aircraft employ many safety measure to cope with emergency situations such as a pilot unknown attitude flight conditions of an aircraft in night flight-testing. This situation is dangerous because the aircraft can lose if the pilot not take recognizance of situation. The system called the "Pilot Activated Recovery System" or PARS, provided a pilot initiated automatic maneuver capable of an aircraft recoveries in situations of unusual attitudes, speed and altitude. This paper addresses the concept of PARS with AARS(Automatic Attitude Recovery System), ATCS(Automatic Thrust Control System) and MARES(Minimum Altitude Recovery Estimation System), and this control law is designed by nonlinear control law design process based on model of supersonic jet trainer. And, this control law is verified by real-time pilot evaluation using an HQS(Handling Quality Simulator). The result of evaluation reveals that the these systems support recovery of an aircraft unusual attitude and speed, and improve a safety of an aircraft.

  • This study is to improve an automatic rate of mapping system through analysis of topographic map specification. The digital map ver 2.0(1/5,000) has used for this studv and the mapping information is to obtain digital and topographic map. This topographic map specification is compared with information that represented of today. The regulation of a map specification for automatic mapping system planed out $\circled1$ similar specification of topographic map $\circled2$ simplified specification $\circled3$ clearness specification. After this study, the automatic rate of a mapping is up to 7% and the map specification has been easily generated.

  • A large number of indices are produced from human sensibility ergonomic data, which are accumulated by the project "Study on the Development of Web-Based Database System of Human Sensibility and its Support". Since the research in this field will be increased rapidly, it is necessary to automate the index processing of human sensibility ergonomic data. From the similarity between indexation and summarization, we propose the automation of this process. In this paper, we study on extraction of keywords, information types and expression features that are considered as basic elements of following techniques for automatic summarization: classification of documents, extraction of information types and linguistic features. This study can be applied to automatic summarization system and knowledge management system in the domain of human sensibility ergonomics.rgonomics.

  • The metropolitan area needs to control the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) and transportation card system in order to implement an efficient railway and subway. This paper introduces a suitable analysis to take advantage of the systematic method of the AFC and transportation card. These systems should consider the fare system, transportation pass and AFC equipment, which are organized with the Automatic Ticket Vending Machine, the Ticket Office Machine and the Card System of Radio Frequency (RF). However, the organization includes the fact the Automatic Ticket Vending Machine has a problem with the proceeding speed of passengers and inconvenience. Second, the majority of passengers have not utilized the Ticket Office Machine. Also, it should consider whether the transportation card is the proper system in the metropolitan area. Based on the analysis of national and international cases, it suggests that the AFC should make more improvements in the metropolitan area railway and subway.

  • Most recommendation systems recommend the products or other information satisfying preferences of users on the basis of the users' previous profile information and other information related to product searches and purchase of users visiting web sites. This study aims to apply these application categories to e-mail more necessary to users. The E-Mail System has the strong personality so that there will be some problems even if e-mails are automatically classified by category through the learning on the basis of the personal rules. In consideration with this aspect, we need the semi-automatic system enabling both automatic classification and recommendation method to enhance the satisfaction of users. Accordingly, this paper uses two approaches as the solution against the misclassification that the users consider as the accuracy of classification itself using the dynamic threshold in Bayesian Learning Algorithm and the second one is the methodological approach using the recommendation agent enabling the users to make the final decision.
