패션기업의 CSR 활동 유형에 대한 소비자의 인지적 적합성이 소비자 행동에 미치는 영향 (The Influences of Consumer Behavior according to their Perceived Suitability toward the Type of Corporate Social Responsibility Activities)

  • Fashion companies make use of diverse strategies to have a competitive edge as there is a growing fierce competition. According to earlier studies, consumers prefer the products and services of companies that direct their energy into CSR activities if there's little disparity in quality of products and services among the companies. The way consumers look at the CSR activities of businesses is very important for the companies since it is linked to their evaluation and image of the companies and indulgencies on their word-of-mouth, purchase and loyalty. It's not quite advisable for fashion companies to make an investment in CSR activities without any specific plans or conviction of the effectiveness of the activities. Actually, lots of domestic companies fail to success their CSR activities, despite of their hard efforts. This study was to examine the appropriateness of corporate CSR activities, the attitude of customers to companies and their intention of recommendation and purchase in detail, and to provide some information on strategy setting for the CSR activities of fashion businesses.

The Effects of Corporate Social Responsibility on Corporate Activity: Comparing Domestic and Multinational Corporations in Korea

  • Purpose - This study investigates whether corporate social responsibility(hereafter CSR) management activities affect companies' performance. Depending on the CSR management activities and companies' type (national and multinational), we examined whether there is any difference in their CSR activities on Corporate Performance. Research design, data, and methodology - Data were collected from 230 surveys with a sample group consisting of employees in multinational corporations located in Seoul and Gyeonggi and 224 copies were used from 3 May 2016 to 17 May 2016. The data was analyzed by SPSS 21.0. Results - The empirical results show that CSR management activities positively influence on financial and non-financial corporate achievement and CSR may be interpreted as a strategic method to improve corporate value. But the impacts of CSR activities on performance were different between domestic and multinational corporations. The reason that the legal responsibility was overruled as a factor for financial and non-financial achievement in domestic company may be that CSR management activity is perceived as an indulgence to hide or beautify negative behavior regarding corporate illegal behavior, thus it does not deliver value. Conclusions - CSR activities can be delivered differently between domestic and multinational corporations, and further study should be done why there are differences between corporations.

건설기업의 사회적 책임 활동이 조직신뢰, 직무만족과 이직의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Corporate Social Responsibility on Organizational Trust, Job Satisfaction and Turnover Intention)

  • 최근 국내 건설기업의 해외 수주비중은 증가하고 있으며, 세계 시장은 기업들의 사회적 책임활동에 대한 경영 투명성을 요구하고 있다. 따라서 국내기업들은 사회적 책임활동을 체계적으로 준비해야 하는 시점에 직면해 있다. 본 연구는 국내 건설기업의 CSR 활동의 4가지 차원(경제적, 법적, 윤리적, 자선적 책임)을 사용하여 종업원의 조직신뢰, 직무만족, 이직의도와의 영향 관계와 계약유형의 조절효과를 확인하고자 하였다. 자사 홈페이지에서 지속가능경영을 통해 고시 및 홍보하고 있는 국내 시공능력평가 상위 10개 건설사의 정규직과 비정규직을 대상으로 CSR 활동이 종업원의 조직신뢰, 직무만족과 이직의도에 미치는 영향 관계를 분석했다. 설문지는 온라인을 통해 300부를 배포하여 회수된 최종 유효 샘플은 255부(정규직 156부, 비정규직 99부)이다. 실증 분석은 구조 방정식 모델을 사용했다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 경제적 책임, 자선적 책임, 윤리적 책임은 조직신뢰에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 조직신뢰는 직무만족에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤다. 끝으로 계약유형의 조절효과 크기는 경제적 책임이 조직신뢰에 대해 정규직이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 조직신뢰는 직무만족에 대해 정규직이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 조직유효성 관점에서 건설기업의 CSR 활동 지침으로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

The Effect of CSR Activities of the Citizens Professional Football Club on Regional Attachment and Expansion of Fans: Focused on Seongnam Football Club, Korea

  • Purpose: This study aims to empirically analyze fans' responses to the types of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities implemented by the citizens professional football club and seek strategic measures for the continuous growth of the club and the formation of long-term relationships with fans. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between regional attachment and expansion of fans according to the type of CSR activities of the club, and to examine influencing relationships among the types of CSR activities, regional attachment, and expansion of fans. Research design, data, and methodology: To achieve the purpose of the study, the survey was conducted on 150 home spectators of Seongnam Football Club, and the analysis of the data was conducted using SPSS Window Version 21.0. Correlation analysis, simple regression analysis, and multiple regression analysis were conducted to analyze the relationship between regional attachment and expansion of fans according to the types of CSR activities performed by the Seongnam Citizens Football Club. Results: As a result of the analysis, it was found that CSR activities had a statistically significant effect on regional attachment. In addition, CSR activities were found to have a statistically significant effect on expansion of fans. Finally, it was found that regional attachment had a statistically significant effect on the expansion of fans. Conclusions: Based on these results, CSR activities of the professional football club are considered an opportunity to build regional attachment. In addition, it is thought that the expansion of fans can be achieved through CSR activities.

CEO Humble Leadership and Corporate Social Responsibility: The Moderating Effect of Firm Slack

  • Purpose: Strategic management scholars have investigated the effects of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on firm financial performance, identifying various impacts of CSR activities showing conflicting results. Meanwhile, relatively less attention has been paid to the antecedents of CSR activities. According to upper echelons theory, organizational outcomes are predicted by characteristics of CEOs and top management team members. Corporate social responsibility is a type of organizational outcome influenced by such top leader characteristics and choices. Recognizing the importance of exploring new antecedents of CSR activities, I examine whether CEO humility affects CSR outcomes. Research design, data and methodology: The KEJI index was set as a dependent variable to measure CSR activities. Among the 200 sample companies registered in the KEJI database in 2014, 85 companies were finally selected and analyzed to measure CEO humility, as independent variable. I also examine the moderating effects of firm slack on the relationship between CEO humility and CSR activities. Results: There is a positive relationship between CEO humility and corporate social responsibility activities and this relationship is negatively moderated by firm slack. Conclusions: This paper contributes to understanding positive impacts of having humble CEOs on corporate social responsibility outcomes and recognizes the role of firm slack.

Enhancing Customer Happiness Through Corporate Social Responsibility: Unveiling the Impact of CSR on Customer Well-Being

  • Previous literature supports the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) by demonstrating its effects on various aspects of firm performance. However, the extent to which CSR contributes to social well-being, its original objective, has rarely been examined. The current research investigates the impact of customers' perceived CSR of service firms on customer happiness. Two studies confirm our proposition that perceived CSR increases customer happiness by enhancing perceptions of warmth and competence associated with the service company. Furthermore, we examine how the type of service moderates this effect. Specifically, we find that the indirect effects of CSR on customer happiness through perceptions of warmth and competence are stronger for credence services than for experience services. This research makes theoretical contributions to the literature on CSR, happiness, and service, and offers practical implications for marketing tactics, including fostering long-term customer relationships and monitoring the effectiveness of CSR activities and corporate budget allocations.

기업의 법적 및 규범적 사회적 책임(CSR) 활동의 증대가 조세회피에 미치는 효과 분석 (The Differential Impact of Legal vs. Normative Corporate Social Responsibility on Corporate Tax Avoidance)

  • This study examines how corporate social responsibility (CSR) affects corporate tax avoidance behavior. Using a sample of publicly listed U.S. firms, we find that legal CSR-which is required by law-reduces the level of corporate tax avoidance because this type of CSR reduces information asymmetry between investors and corporate management in such a way that investors are less likely to perceive tax avoidance behavior as a risk. On the other hand, we find that the relationship between normative CSR-which is a voluntary type of CSR behavior-and tax avoidance is not statistically significant. Instead, our additional analysis reveals that normative CSR increases the level of corporate tax avoidance conditional on reporting quality. This study provides meaningful implications to the academic literature and to practitioners. Not only does this study highlight the fact that not all CSR are alike, it highlights that it is important to provide transparent CSR information in order to allow stakeholders to estimate the net effects of firms' CSR activities and tax payment.

제품 브랜드의 고객 충성도를 확보하기 위한 화장품 기업 CSR 활동 유형 연구 (A Study on CSR Types of Cosmetic Companies to Gain Customer Loyalty of Product Brand)

  • 국내 화장품 시장은 현재 포화상태로 시장에 안정적으로 진입하기 위해선 높은 고객 충성도를 확보하는 것이 가장 중요하다. 이를 위해선 고객이 해당 브랜드의 진정성을 통해 깊은 신뢰감과 유대감을 가져야 한다. 이 때, 브랜드 진정성의 요소 중 기업 진정성이 고객의 브랜드 애착과 충성도에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다. 하여 기업 진정성을 가장 효과적으로 보여줄 수 있는 CSR 활동을 중심으로 마케팅 전략을 제시하였다. 먼저 1년이상 지속적으로 활동하고 활동 내용과 결과가 명확하여 진정성을 인정받은 사례만 선별했다. 20개의 화장품브랜드가 이 조건을 충족하였고 해당 브랜드에서 진행한 28개의 CSR을 분석했다. 이를 EU에서 제시한 바람직한 사회의 상 4가지 영역으로 나누어 각 영역의 특징을 도출하였고 각 유형에 맞는 마케팅 전략을 제시하였다. 이 연구가 추후 기업에서 CSR 활동을 전개할 때 실질적인 도움이 될 것이다.

  • 企业社会责任活动已被认为是提高企业形象和企业竞争力的一个潜在因素. 然而, 先前大部分关于企业社会责任活动的研究是主要针对的是这些活动如何影响影响对产品, 企业以及企业形象的评价的评价. 另外, 一些学者将消费者对企业动机的感知作为企业社会责任和消费者反应之间直接关系中的调解变量. 然而, 动机理论和相关的研究存在一些缺点. 对消费者, 企业社会责任活动只有两个动机, 但最近, Vlachos等人(2008) 认为这些动机应该细分. 因此, 它有可能从原有理论发展为修正理论模型(说服, 个人知识管理(PKM). Vlachos等人(2008) 将企业社会责任动机细分为四种类型, 并尝试发现这些动机在影响顾客种程度方面的作用以及不同. 以前的研究已经证明具有积极动机会对的社会责任活动会有积极的影响. 但并没有实证地解释其心理原因. 因此本研究的目的是双重的. 第一, 本研究试图发现顾客为什么会在他们感受到企业社会活动的积极动机的情况下表达他们的感激. 第二, 本研究试图测试当社会从企业社会责任活动中获得利益时与消费者的回报的效果. 以下是本研究的假设: H1: 企业社会责任活动的价值驱使的动机积极影响认知的对等对于互惠的期待. H2: 企业社会责任活动的参股者驱使的动机消极影响于互惠的期待认知的对等. H3: 企业社会责任活动的利己驱使的动机消极影响于互惠的期待认知的对等. H4: 企业社会责任活动的战略驱使的动机消极影响对于互惠的期待认知的对等. H5: 对企业社会责任活动的互惠的期待认知的对等积极影响消费者忠诚度. 我们选择了一个公司作为研究对象来理解企业社会责任活动的动机是如何影响消费者于互惠的期待认知的对等和顾客忠诚度. 总样本为100名受访者被选为试验测试. 此外, 为了获得一致的回复, 我们保证所有的受访者都超过20岁. 本调查中. 在排除了28份无效问卷以后, 总受访者是172名(82名男性, 90名女性). 基于截至标准, 数据和模型的适配度良好. 在观察结果以后, 企业社会责任活动的价值驱使的动机对于互惠的期待认知的对等有积极的影响(t=6.75, p<.001),假设1被证明. Morales (2005) 也指出消费者的确感激企业对社会所做出的努力以及对社会所给予的利益. 而且企业社会责任活动的参股者驱使的动机对于互惠的期待认知的对等没有影响(t = ‐.049, p > .05). 因此, 假设2被拒绝. 我们可以用符合论来解释这个结果. 利己驱使动机(t = ‐3.11, p < .05)和战略驱使的动机(t = ‐4.65, p < .05) 对认知的对等有消极影响. 因此H3和H4被证明. 而且认知的对等积极影响消费者的忠诚度(t = 4.24, p < .05),H5被证明. 从结果中看, 与大众群体相比,大学生更容易受利己驱动动机的影响. 以下是本研究的结论:首先, 数据分析结果显示价值驱使的动机积极影响于互惠的期待认知的对等. 但是参股者驱动的动机对互惠的期待认知的对等没有显著影响. 另外, 利己驱使的动机和战略驱使的动机消极影响互惠的期待认知的对等. 第二, 当企业社会责任活动与消费者的回报关联时, 社会责任活动积极影响顾客忠诚度. 本研究测试了动机的种类是否影响消费者对企业社会责任的反应, 尤其是企业社会责任如何能影响关键的内在因素(认知的对等) 和消费者行为的结果(顾客忠诚度). 而且, 本研究阐述了认知对等在企业社会责任动机和顾客忠诚度的关系中起到媒介的作用. 我们的研究扩展了有关消费者企业社会责任动机方面的研究, 将他们定位为消费者反应的一个直接指标. 另外一个贡献是, 我们成功地鉴定了认知的对等作为一个次级过程在归因于顾客忠诚度的企业社会责任的影响中的中介作用. 今后在研究企业社会责任的最终行为和财务影响时应该考虑源于互惠的期待认知对等的影响. 本研究的结果具有重要的管理意义. 第一, 本研究发现的对等的中心作用表明经理人应该经常考虑这些行为将创造出多少的互惠的期待认知对等. 第二, 理解消费者对企业社会责任的动机, 的认知是如何与互惠的期待认知对等和顾客忠诚度相关, 可以帮助经理人通过营销活动和管理企业社会责任‐感应归因过程来监控和提高这些消费者的结果. 本研究的结果将帮助企业去理解影响互惠的期待认知对等的四个不同的动机的相对重要性.

매칭그랜트 기부방식에 대한 기부자 선호도 (Employees' Preferences on Various Types of Matching Grants)

  • Because consumers tend to have negative opinion about a company that neglects social issues like poverty or pollution while it focuses on its own profit, a lot of companies have invested their resources in Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR). CSR has merits of image improving and profit gaining, on the other hand, it has also many shortcomings. First, the cost of CSR may become a heavy financial burden. Specifically, CSR tends to be implemented by a company's unilateral backup, and then this may impose a heavy burden on the company. Second, one cannot expect effects of CSR in a short-term. Because of these shortcomings, the unilateral CSR has gone into alteration of the type of CSR since 1980's. Instead of unilaterality, Cause-Related Marketing(CRM) began to be used for mutual profits among company, consumers, and society. That is, CRM has become to be spotlighted as a new type of CSR. It focuses on partnership between a company and consumers based on cause and mutual profit pursuing through this partnership. So, many contemporary companies prefer CRM activities that derive their positive corporate image, that increase their sales, and that reduce their financial cost. The IBM Matching Grants Program, which is the largest of the IBM-Employee partnership programs, is a typical CRM. This program enables employees and retirees to increase the value of their donations to educational institutions, hospitals, hospices, nursing homes, and cultural & environmental organizations with a matching gift from IBM. Hundreds of educational institutions and thousands of nonprofit organizations have benefited from the contributions by IBM. There might be various types of matching grants. For example, an employee might choose a lump-sum expense or partitioning a lump-sum into a series of small ongoing expenses for his (or her) donation, and a firm might match the employee's total contribution with a lump-sum expense or might match the employee's total contribution with a series of small ongoing expenses. However, it is not easy to find an academic research on which type of matching grant is preferred by employees. This paper shows that an employee prefers the type of matching grants that consists of a lump-sum expense for his (or her) contribution and a series of small ongoing expenses for a firm's contribution [or the type of matching grants that consists of a series of small ongoing expenses for an employee's contribution and a lump-sum expense for a firm's contribution] to the other types of matching grants.
