We have studied the problems associated with increasing number of ophthalmic optics students every year. The main problems are surplus supply of the optometrist and poor working condition. Thus all parties concerned who aim to solve the numerical unbalance of optometrist must have the common policy in sight. And we have to make a long-term plan and permanent organization for medical technician to establish supply and demand of medical technician with exact policy. To solve this unbalance of optometrist numbers, we have to establish an exact job category, reform the specialized education course, estimate the practical technique of national licensing examination for Korean optometrist, and innovate the contents and methods of reeducation.

In this paper, we took the clinical data of Korean eyes and designed the schematic eye with the same optical properties of the real eye. In the design process, we took the clinical emmetorpia data of young Korean adults collected in the past and analyzed to get a basic specification of the real eye for the design of schematic eye. The purpose of design was for the schematic eye to have the same optical properties of real eye in spherical aberration and astigmatism.

For this study we investigated situation of domestic standardization in contact lens field. The rate of contact lens wearing have increased lately, nevertheless Korean Industrial Standard just has been translated into the regulations of ISO(International Organization for Standardization), and it has been applied. Moreover there is not any the domestic original regulation yet. Therefor, for this study we investigated current situation of the ISO in contact lens field and fitness of standard in our present actual condition. Also, by grasping the problems which it follows.

We have studied the auto-lensometer for several years in order to begin korean-made production of it and then developed the auto-lensmeter using with the personal computer. We introduce the most important principal of PSD device and the optical principal of measuring the power of the refraction of the lens by auto-lensometer and also explain the fabrication of the LED optical source system and PSD optical system. Finally, we found the power constant of our auto-lensmeter to be about 30 Diopter/mm.

The Voight function which results from the convolution of the Gauss and Lorentz function is applied the MAS-NMR simulation of mixed alkali glasses and the glasses doped transition metal oxides. It is well known that the convolution of the Gauss and Lorentz function cannot be integrated in closed form for arbitrary values. So we make the new computer simulation program from which the Voight lineshape is obtained. The results are accorded well with the MAS-NMR spectra and we can find out the very small change of MAS-NMR lineshape.

For youths of both sexes which can read the letter chap of 1.0 acuity without lens, tests the fogging technique and examines the development of visual acuity. And compare the numerical function with the result of the variation of the blur circle on the retina when the power of the fogging lens varies. The variation of visual ac acuity for the fogging technique keeps constantly the balance for binocular.

The cause of poor visual acuity was connected to the damage by the ocular trauma related. Especially the most cause of visual disorder was identified as irregular pupil by ocular damage. Therefore most patients stopped the wearing of the contact lens immediately by the visual decrease effects from irregular pupil disorder. But we had suggested that the contact lens wear was a very intensive visual therapy. We had identified the visual recover from several tests using the contact lens treatment.
