본 연구는 장기간 스테로이드 주사 및 연고, 항히스타민제 복용 등에도 악화된 중증 각화성 결절 양진 환자 치험례이다. 환자에게 한약 투약, 침, 증기, 습부항, 약침, 한방 외용제 치료를 시행한 결과 결절 과각화 감소 및 소양감, 열감, 통증, 수면 장애 등 제반 증상에 치료 효과가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

Objectives : This study is designed for trend analysis of oriental medicine treatment for visual impairment. Methods : Research studies related to objectives were gathered through OASIS, KTKP, PUBMED with keywords such as "visual impairment", "myopia", "hyperopia", "presbyopia", "astigmatism" and analyzed. Results : As a result of searching domestic and overseas research on oriental medical treatment for visual impairment, 7 domestic research papers and 11 overseas research papers have been selected. Among those research papers, 15 of those are studies related to childhood or juvenile myopia. Acupuncture, ear acupuncture, herb medicine, periocular massage, eye muscle exercise and habit correction are used as treatment methods for visual impairment. 14 out of 17 research papers which mentioned treatment effect of oriental medicine reported oriental treatment of visual impairment is effective. Conclusions : Various types of oriental medical treatment could be effective in treating visual impairment. Thus, related in-depth research must be proceeded.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to report the efficacy of using oriental medical treatment(herb-medicine, acupuncture) with Melonix Calyx Vomiting Therapy for atypical facial pain. Methods : We experienced two cases of atypical facial pain treated with oriental medical treatment(herb-medicine, acupuncture) and Melonix Calyx Vomiting Therapy(MCVT). MCVT is a traditional treatment, which induces vomiting by eating Melonix Calyx powder with water. To evaluate the results of this treatment, we used the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Pain Rating Scale(PRS). Result : After using MCVT with oriental medical treatment, VAS, PRS and clinical symptoms of 2 patients were improved remarkably. Conclusion : This study suggests that using MCVT with oriental medical treatment is effective on atypical facial pain.

Meniere's disease is not a life-threatening but lift-altering inner ear disease characterized by episodic vertigo, fluctuating hearing loss, tinnitus and ear fullness. The etiology and pathophysiology symptoms is still disputed. Thereby the treatment of Meniere's disease is empirical. As yet no treatment has prospectively modified the clinical course of condition and thereby prevented the progressive hearing loss. We experienced two cases of Meniere's disease treated with oriental medical treatment, acupuncture and herbal medication. 15 year-old and 23 year old male patients had diagnosed Meniere's disease by western medical doctor. After treatment their vertigo is decreased and the level of hearing loss was rise up. Therefore, oriental medical treatments could be safe and effective methods.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the oriental medical treatment on erythema multiforme caused by acute tonsillitis. Methods : Patient who has been ill Acute tonsillitis suffers from erythema, edema, pruritus, burning sensation of systemic skin. The patient was admitted to Dunsan oriental hospital for 7 days and was treated with oriental medicine(acupuncture, herbal-medicine, and vapor treatment). To evaluate the results of this treatment, the improvement of symptoms(erythema, pruritus, burning sensation) was identified by patient's subjective expression and in lesion-symptom improvement. Results : The symptoms caused by acute tonsillitis on total skin were improved. Conclusions : This study shows that the oriental medical treatment effects on the erythema multiforme caused by acute tonsillitis. Also, the public suggests that the correlation between the skin and tonsil.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of oriental medical treatment on a sinusitis patient Methods : We treated a 56-years old man patient with sinusitis. His symptoms are Ozena, Postnasal drip, Cough, sputum, nasal obstruction, rhinorrhea and Headache. The patient was treated with herb-med(Kami-Hyunggyeyungyotang,加味荊芥連翹湯), acupuncture, aroma oil therapy. During about a month, the patient was treated only with oriental medical treatment and without any of western medicine including antibiotics. We confirmed the progress of treatment with subjective symptoms, physical examination and radiographic inspection(PNS image). Results & Conclusions : After one month, Combined application of the oriental treatment including Kami-Hyunggyeyungyotang showed remarkable effects on subjective symptoms, physical examination and radiographic inspection(PNS image). This study show that Kami-Hyunggyeyungyotang effects on sinusitis.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the efficacy of using oriental medical treatment withMelonis Calyxvomiting therapy for sudden sensorineural hearing loss(SSNHL).Methods : We experienced one case of SSNHL treated with oriental medical treatment(acupuncture, herbal medicine) andMelonis Calyxvomiting therapy(MCVT). MCVT is a traditional treatment, which induces vomiting by eatingMelonis Calyxpowder with water. To evaluate the results of this treatment, we measured the hearing recovery, decrease of tinnitus and vertigo. The degree of hearing improvement was evaluated by Siegel's Criteria. Decrease of tinnitus and vertigo was assessed by Visual Analogue Scale(VAS).Results : The pure tone 5 frequency average improved by 39㏈(marked recovery, from 64㏈ to 25㏈). VAS of tinnitus decreased from 10 to 1, and vertigo decreased from 4 to 0.Conclusions : This study suggests that using MCVT with oriental medical treatment is effective on SSNHL.

Objective : The purpose of this report is to know the effect of Sopung-san and Cheonggisamseup-tang(消風散 合 淸肌滲濕湯) on seborrheic dermatitis. Methods : We experienced one case of seborrheic dermatitis patient with Sopung-san and Cheonggisamseup-tang. To evaluate the effectiveness of this treatment, we used the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) about symptoms of flare, itching, and observe scales. Results : After the treatment, the grade of flare and itching VAS was decreased, and clinical symptoms were improved including scales. Conclusion : The result indicate that Sopung-san and Cheonggisamseup-tang is helpful in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis. And an author consider that additional clinical studies are needed to verify the effectiveness of herbal medicine with objective assessment tools.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the efficacy of using oriental medical treatment with acute labyrinthitis diagnosed patient.Methods : We experienced one case of acute labyrinthitis diagnosed patient treated with oriental medical treatment. To evaluate the results of this treatment, we measured the hearing recovery, decrease of tinnitus and vertigo. Decrease of tinnitus and vertigo was assessed by THI and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS).Results : VAS of tinnitus decreased from 1.5 to 0.2, and vertigo decreased from 2 to 0. THI decreased from 41 to 25.Conclusions : This study suggests that using oriental medical treatment is effective on Acute labyrinthitis.

A female visited the Dept. of Oriental Ophthamology & Otolaryngology & Dermatology, Dong-eui University with Facial Nerve Palsy in Herpes Zoster Oticus. She had been taking ill with chronic hepatitis B and taking western medicine. We treated a patient with only Oriental Medicine.(the herbal medication and acupuncture etc). Because she was afraid of herbal medicine -induced hepatitis, went through an examination about LFT profile regularly. The symptom of Herpes Zoster Oticus was improved and there was no abnormality in LFT profile. Through this case, we thought that it is possible to treat the other disease of the patient with chronic hepatitis using herbal medication without hepatotoxic hepatitis. But for the safety of patient and doctor in several case, we need to accumulate objective data about the side effect of herbal medications inducing hepatotoxic hepatitis.
