  • The advent of Third Generation (3G) communication systems, with their ability to process real-time multimedia applications and their large bandwidths, will greatly enhance mobile Internet access. Not only does Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) and cdma2000 radio technology offer an advantageous density for voice in terms of spectral efficiency, it also supports higher rates and offers differentiated levels of duality of Service (QoS) for data applications. The early introduction of packet and multimedia technologies will be a key element in realizing a quick and successful return on the operator's investments in Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) and cdma2000.

A Study on the Change to the Elevation and Roof of the Standard Rural-House Design After 1990's (1990년 이후 농촌주택 표준설계도의 입면과 지붕 변화에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the elevations of standard rural house designs after the 1990's. Various types of analysis were carried out on a total of 18 different sizes and 50 types of designs with p'yong sizes ranging from 12 to 44. The objects of analysis are the various elevations & the roof types that were supplied in the standard rural house design according to each year 1995 (8 sizes 20 types), 1997 (8 sizes 8 types), 1998 (l size 8 types), 2000 (2 sizes 4 types), 2001 (2 sizes 4 types), and 2004 (3 sizes 6 types). Results from the analysis demonstrate that (1) The gable roof has been used as the roofing type for standard rural house design since 1990. However the roof types of the standard rural house design includes only a few different types of gable roofs and roof materials(most roof types use asphalt shingle). (2) While most front elevations have been altered from asymmetrical to symmetrical most rear elevations have evolved from symmetrical to asymmetrical proportions since the 1990's (3) While siding materials and red-brick were most commonly used the main outer-wall materials prior to 2000, environmentally-friendly materials have been used as outer-wall materials since 2000. (4) In terms of the analysis of outer-wall objects before 2000 the walls were even, yet after 2000 these outer-walls evolved to become concave-convex walls. In other words, the evolution of the outer-wall has included a variety of wall types.

Spectral Mixture Analysis for Desertification Detection in North-Eastern China

  • This paper was carried out desertification area change detection from 1980s to 2000s per unit decade using by multitemporal satellite images (Landsat MSS, TM, ETM+). This study aims to use Spectral Mixture Analysis (SMA) to identify and classify study area. Endmembers is selected bare soil, green vegetation (GV), water body using by Minimum Noise Fraction (MNF). Endmembers used to generate increase and decrease images respective from 1980s to 1990s and from 1990s to 2000s. From the analysis of multitemporal change detection for three periods, it was apparent that the area of bare soil increased significantly, with simultaneous decrease of GV and water body. The multitemporal fraction images can be effectively used for change detection. Though there is no field survey dataset, SMA is reliable result of change detection in desertification in China.

  • Base Station Controller which belongs to IMT-2000(International Mobile Telecommunication - 2000) network has several types of structure for efficient control protocol. This difference of structure occurs two different protocols for call handling. Recently the need of IMT-2000 is highly increasing, so it is important to analyze the performance of processors and IPC(Inter-Processor Communication) module with structure of BSC and protocol difference. This paper presents the performance comparison of different types of BSC in view of processor utilization, waiting time, queue length and QoS(Quality of Service) through the simulation model.
