  • An aging population and increasing consumer demand for high-quality and innovative new products are key drivers for growth in the cosmeceutical industry. Cosmeceuticals are defined as products with biologically active ingredients that have a measurable effect on the user. This study explored the effects of shopping orientation and store attributes on impulse buying behavior for cosmeceuticals. We obtained 437 usable questionnaires from university students who had purchased cosmeceutical products. Data analysis was conducted using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling analysis via AMOS 18.0. The findings were: 1) hedonic shopping orientation and convenience shopping orientation had positive effects on product efficacy and promotion of the cosmeceutical store 2) brand shopping orientation had a positive effects on store atmospheric, skin care service, and brand of the cosmeceuticals store and 3) product efficacy and promotion of store attributes had a direct effect on impulse buying behavior for cosmeceuticals. Consumers who tended to enjoy the shopping to refresh themselves and to experience convenient shopping were likely to purchase cosmeceuticals impulsively, which mediated by the store attributes (product efficacy and promotion). Therefore, we confirmed partly causal relationships among the shopping orientation, store attributes, and impulse buying behavior of cosmeceuticals. Both managerial and theoretical implication for practitioners and researchers were discussed for managing product information more efficiently along with promotion strategies to trigger cosmeceuticals consumers in the context of shopping.

  • This study examines the effects of fashion influencers' body types (realistic versus ideal body types) on self-expression, self-representation, and recommendation intentions, as mediated by familiarity toward influencers. Although fashion influencers lead to a positive consumer response compared to traditional advertisements, previous research on the effects of fashion influencers on consumers is limited. Thus, this study tests the role of consumers' socio-psychological aspects in understanding how and why fashion influencers affect consumers' behavioral intentions associated with self-expression, self-representation, and influencer recommendation. A total of 180 women in their 20s and 30s participated in the survey. The responses were collected after showing them stimuli featuring fashion influencers with either ideal or realistic body shapes. The data were analyzed using SPSS18.0 for descriptive statistics, and AMOS 18.0 for confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. The results showed that participants who were shown realistic body types perceived familiarity, which generated positive effects on self-expression, self-representation, and recommendation intentions. Hence, the effects of influencers' body types on recommendation intention are mediated by familiarity. Self-expression and self-representation intentions also increase influencer recommendation intention. Comparatively, participants who were shown ideal body types only induced higher self-representation intention, which increased their recommendation intention. The current findings can help fashion marketers select the appropriate influencers who fit their target customers as promotional models, as well as to induce changes in consumers' behavioral intention.

  • This study analyzed the effects of optimism and innovativeness, the two drivers of a consumer's technological readiness to use an augmented reality(AR) fashion shopping service within the framework of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The survey was conducted on 249 people (males = 58; females = 191) in their 20s who were willing to participate in the AR experience. Data were analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling by AMOS 22.0. The results indicated that a greater level of perceived optimism had a positive influence on the ease of use and usefulness of the technology. The findings also show that consumers with a high degree of innovativeness tend to have a higher level of playfulness toward AR fashion shopping. Regarding the effects of user beliefs, ease of use had a positive effect on the perception of usefulness and playfulness with higher levels implying a higher consumer intention to adopt an AR fashion shopping service. In addition, this study reveals the moderating effect of consumers with high-fashion versus those with low-fashion innovativeness. For the latter, technological innovation had an insignificant effect on playfulness, thus indicating that consumers with low interest in fashion did not enjoy AR fashion shopping even if the technology was highly innovative. Nevertheless, the analysis confirms the possibility that experiencing a fashion product through AR technology could replace the actual experience of wearing the products.

  • The term 'module' is an architectural term. It refers to the components or systems that make up a finished product. As industries develop, modules have become one of the methods that can create diverse and creative designs. Traditional modular fashion design mainly focused on structural methods, such as the combination, assembly, overlap, and arrangement of modules, as well as the tessellation of geometric shapes. However, in this paper, significance lies in exploring the application of shape grammar, a design method in architecture, to fashion design. It aims to search for ways to express three-dimensional designs, derive designs that can be worn and produced, and propose fashion design by applying the rules of shape grammar to the design process. Through this analysis, the paper aims to examine the methods and characteristics of shape grammar. The research method of this paper is as follows. First, by utilizing optimized programs for implementing the modules of shape grammar, it was possible to propose a method for producing modules of shape grammar and suggest module designs. Additionally, effective methods of representation using the Clo 3D program were explored in the design development process. Second, by applying shape grammar to the fashion design process, five-dimensional modular fashion designs were proposed, including a bolero, dress 1, dress 2, setup, and coat. The proposed modular fashion design using shape grammar in this paper provides a rational design process that differentiates itself from traditional modular fashion design. By formalizing the shapes between modules and creating rules, it overcomes the limitations of design that rely on the designer's intuition or sensibility and enables the development of more diverse modular fashion designs. This application of shape grammar in fashion design can provide an important direction in exploring a sustainable fashion industry.

  • Jacques Derrida took off the self-contradiction of structuralism and built up a theory so called "Deconstruct". By issuing a series of papers which strongly criticized the existing western philosophy, he drew into 'strangers' alienated and deconstructed the methodology of structuralism by getting out of the antagonistic thought attaching great importance to Logos. Discomposition is realized by exposing the ex-structural elements existed inside of structuralism, and is an open philosophy recognizing the dignity and freedom of an individual than the general structure in the methodology of structuralism. Discomposition is a theory for criticizing the conservative thought frame traditional western philosophy, and deconstruct as a method of criticism persists a new epistemology by questioning to all texts including a text of tradition and deconstructing these texts. The contemporary fashion in 1990's shows the discompositive appearances with the different form. textile print and color. By the analysis according to the deconstruct process, the characters of discompositive fashion are undecidability decentring, disorder, and dislocation. Many designers like Martin Margiella, Alexander Mcqueen, and Ann Demeulemeester express these characters on their fashion. The result of this process, the characters of discompositive design can be classified matamorphosis, harmony of the disharmony and coexistence of the ambivalence.bivalence.

  • Since the 20th century, there has been a growing interest in the new concept of fractals, a combination of mathematics and art, and the attempt to study the creative spatial aspects of the concept is being made. The purpose of this research is to examine artistic characteristics of fractal dimension and then analyze the types of fractal dimensions expressed in the fashion. Previous literature on fractals and dimension, and visual data on art and fashion collected over the Internet were used for analysis. Fractal dimension refers to the spatial concept of structural dimension of geometrical self-similarity. An analysis of the types of fractals seen in fashion revealed spatial expansion, the repetition in continual figures, superposition accordant to different sizes, and shades of different shapes. The aesthetic characteristics of fractal dimension appearing in fashions were examined based on analyses of fractal dimension types; the inherent characteristics of self-similarity, superimposition, and atypicality were found. Results obtained from this study are expected to be used as basic materials for the application of the design of fractal dimension into various perspectives of fashion.

  • As an emerging e-retail model, private shopping malls are transforming the traditional retail systems. These malls are expanding in Europe and the United States and have recently arrived in Korea. This study investigates the relationships among the usefulness of SNS(Social Networking Sites), shopping values, and purchase intentions for fashion products in private shopping malls. The analysis was based on a survey of consumers, aged between 20 and 39, who recently purchased fashion products from a private shopping mall. Two hundred samples were used in the final analysis. The study employed descriptive statistics, Cronbach's alpha, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling. The relationships among usefulness of SNS, shopping values, and purchase intentions was verified through structural equation modeling. More specifically, the usefulness of SNS significantly influenced the utilitarian shopping values as well as purchase intention of fashion products. Utilitarian shopping values, in turn, significantly influenced hedonic shopping values and purchase intention. Further, hedonic shopping values had a significant effect on purchase intention.

  • Internet of Things (IoT) will transform our daily life by making different aspects of life smart like smart home, smart workplace, smart health and smart city etc. IoT is based on network of physical objects equipped with sensors and actuators that can gather and share data with other objects or humans. Secure communication is required for successful working of IoT. In this paper, a total of 13 lightweight cryptographic algorithms are evaluated based on their implementation results on 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit microcontrollers and their appropriateness is examined for resource-constrained scenarios like IoT. These algorithms are analysed by dissecting them into their logical and structural elements. This paper tries to investigate the relationships between the structural elements of an algorithm and its performance. Association rule mining is used to find association patterns among the constituent elements of the selected ciphers and their performance. Interesting results are found on the type of element used to improve the cipher in terms of code size, RAM requirement and execution time. This paper will serve as a guideline for cryptographic designers to design improved ciphers for resource constrained environments like IoT.
