  • SIn this paper, we introduce our experience for designing and implementing new concept of a global XML-based Peer-to-Peer (P2P) engine to support various P2P applications, and interconnection among PC, Web and mobile computing environments. The proposed P2P engine can support to heterogeneous data exchanges and web interconnection by facilitating with the text-base XML while message exchange are necessary. It is also to provide multi-level security functions as well as to apply different types of security algorithms. The system consist of four modules; a message dispatcher to scheduling and filtering the message, a SecureNet to providing security services and data transmission, a Discovery Manager to constructing peer-to-peer networking, and a Repository Manager to processing data management including XML documents. As a feasibility test, we implement various P2P services such as chatting as a communication service, white-board as an authoring tool set during collaborative working, and a file system as a file sharing service. We also compared the proposed system to a Gnutella in order to measure performance of the systems.

  • Data format of Big data is diverse and vast, and its generation speed is very fast, requiring new management and analysis methods, not traditional data processing methods. Textual mining techniques can be used to extract useful information from unstructured text written in human language in online documents on social networks. Identifying trends in the message of politics, economy, and culture left behind in social media is a factor in understanding what topics they are interested in. In this study, text mining was performed on online news related to a given keyword using topic - oriented analysis technique. We use Latent Dirichiet Allocation (LDA) to extract information from web documents and analyze which subjects are interested in a given keyword, and which topics are related to which core values are related.

  • IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force) RFC 2069 recommend to accept the DAA(Digest Access Authentication) scheme ill the HTTP 1.1(Hype. Text Transfer Protocol 1.1). When the client want to access the protected URI resources with Web Server, the BAA scheme is not considered to be a secure method of user authentication, as the user name and password are passed over the network as clear text. But, The DAA scheme is proposed to create a access authentication method which avoids the serious flaws of BAA(ie, passed over the network as clear text). The flaw of DAA is not supported the confidentiality services between client and server. This paper is proposed a confidentiality service scheme for HTTP environment, as an extension to DAA

  • Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate postural control strategies on smart phone use during gait in over 50-year-old adults. Method: 8 elderly subjects (age: $55.5{\pm}3.29yrs$, height: $159.75{\pm}4.20cm$, weight: $62.87{\pm}8.44kg$) and 10 young subjects (age: $23.8{\pm}3.19yrs$, height: $158.8{\pm}5.97cm$, weight: $53.6{\pm}5.6kg$) participated in the study. They walked at a comfortable pace in a gaitway of ~8 m while: 1) reading text on a smart phone, 2) typing text on a smart phone, or 3) walking without the use of a phone. Gait parameters and kinematic data were evaluated using a three-dimensional movement analysis system. Results: The participants read or wrote text messages they walked with: slower speed; lesser stride length and step width; greater flexion range of motion of the head; more flexion of the thorax in comparison with normal walking. Conclusion: Texting or reading message on a smart phone while walking may pose an additional risk to pedestrians' safety.

  • This study is the academic work to explore the potential meanings of print advertisements. Linguistic features such as repetition, variation, contrast and phonological structure in the verbal texts of ads can give rise to shades-of-meaning or slight variations in advertising. The language of advertising is not only language in words. It is also a language in images, colors, and pictures. Pictures and words combine to form the advertisement's visual text.. While the words are very important in delivering the sales message, the visual text cannot be ignored in advertisements. Forming part of the visual text is the paralanguage of the ad. Paralanguage is the meaningful behaviour accompanying language, such as voice quality, gestures, facial expressions and touch in speech, and choice of typeface and letter sizes in writing. Foregrounding is the throwing into relief of the linguistic sign against the background of the norms of ordinary language. This paper focuses its discussion on the advertisements within the framework of the paradigmatic and the syntagmatic relationship. The sources of ads have been confined to Malboro. The ads were reselected based on purposive sampling methods.

  • Images in the textbooks influence the learning process. Students often see pictures before reading the text and these pictures can enhance the power of imagination of the students. The findings of some researches show that the images in textbooks can increase students' creativity. However, when learning major subjects, reading a textbook or looking at a picture alone may not be enough to understand the topics and completely realize the concepts. Studies show that viewers remember 95% of a message when watching a video than reading a text. If we can combine textbooks and videos, this teaching method is fantastic. The "TEXT + IMAGE + VIDEO (Animation)" concept could be more beneficial than ordinary ones. We tried to give our solution by using machine learning Image Classification. This paper covers the features, approaches and detailed objectives of our project. For now, we have developed the prototype of this project as a web app and it only works when accessed via smartphone. Once you have accessed the web app through your smartphone, the web app asks for access to use the camera. Suppose you bring your smartphone's camera closer to the picture in the textbook. It will then display the video related to the photo below.

  • This study analyzes mobile media-based writing aspects in terms of behavior induction under the premise that the digital media environment is built around mobile. The actual space where the digital writes are performed is a separate platform. The platform facilitates interaction by providing tools and rules to provide infra and participate in a variety of participants. In a mobile environment, writing is done through social platforms. In digital media, images are no longer content that supplements text. On the contrary, the tendency to use text as subtitles has been strengthened to enhance the message delivery power of video. The following are the aspects of digital writing based on the platform or application of mobile media. Second is the generalization of "textual extension." Third, the expansion of the 'visual style' of text is obvious. The affordance of mobile media is based on perceived affordance. However, mobile media users are not just aware of and understand the information provided by the media's interface. The active use of media based on the transformation of behavioral induction should be understood as the result of the accumulation of numerous experiences of interactions driven by iteration of performance induced by behavioral induction. The future research, therefore, should be conducted in the direction of analyzing new usage patterns of mobile media instead of staying on the behavioral induction based on understanding the perceived behavioral induction of users.

  • This paper aims to build a home security system based on IoT to monitor a home on a mobile phone. The system consists of data gathering sensors, camera, gateway and Xively platform. The Raspberry Pi collects data from the three sensors and sends the data to Xively, and sends the video stream of home to a client in a smart phone through a internet. The servers are composed of Xively, socket server in Raspberry Pi and E-mail server in Google. The proposed system transmits e-mail, text message, and video stream when there are motion, fire, and gas leakage, and can control the gas valve through Raspberry Pi. The experimental results show that a user gets 'emergency E-mail' and text message and watches the video stream of the home through WIFI or LTE on a smart phone.

  • Introduction: Although continuing education is necessary for practicing nurses, it is very difficult to organize traditional classes because of large numbers of nurses and working shifts. Considering the increasing development of mobile electronic learning, we carried out a study to compare effects of the traditional face to face method with mobile learning delivered as text messages by cell phone. Materials and Methods: Sixty female nurses working in our hospital were randomly divided into class and short message service (SMS) groups. Lessons concerning breast cancer screening were prepared as 54 messages and sent in 17 days for the SMS group, while the class group participated in a class held by a university lecturer of breast and cancer surgery. Pre- and post-tests were undertaken for both groups at the same time; a retention test also was performed one month later. For statistical analysis, the paired T test and the independent sample T test were used with SPSS software version 16; p<0.05 was considered significant. Results: Mean age and mean work experience of participants in class and SMS groups was $35.8{\pm}7.2$, $9.8{\pm}6.7$, $35.4{\pm}7.3$, and $11.5{\pm}8.5$, respectively. There was a significant increase in mean score post-tests (compared with pretests) in both groups (p<0.05). Although a better improvement in scores of retention tests was demonstrated in the SMS group, the mean subtraction value of the post- and pretests as well as retention- and pretests showed no significant difference between the 2 groups (p=0.3 and p =0.2, respectively). Conclusions: Our study shows that teaching via SMS may probably replace traditional face to face teaching for continuing education in working nurses. Larger studies are suggested to confirm this.

  • A new vocoder of Code Excited Linear Predictive (CELP) based on Adaptive Multi Rate (AMR) 7.4kbit/s mode is proposed in this paper. The proposed vocoder achieves a better compression rate in an environment of Speaker Dependent Coding System (SDSC) and is efficiently used for systems, such as OGM(Outgoing message) and TTS(Text To Speech), which needs only one person's speech. In order to enhance the compression rate of a coder, a new Line Spectral Pairs(LSP) code-book is employed by using Centroid Neural Network (CNN) algorithm. In comparison with original(traditional) AMR 7.4 Kbit/s coder, the new coder shows 27% higher compression rate while preserving synthesized speech quality in terms of Mean Opinion Score(MOS).
