  • Packable resins have been introduced in the market with high expectations as an alternative to amalgam. They are characterized by a high-filler load and a filler distribution that gives them a different consistency compared with the hybrid resins. The effect of high filler load on the microhardness and polymerization shrinkage of packable resins was tested. Hybrid resins were also tested to compared with the packable resins. As a result, packable resins showed a much greater microhardness value than hybrid resins. All the tested resins have a correlationship with the microhardness and filler content (vol%). The packable resins showed much less polymerization shrinkage than hybrid resins. The filler content and polymerization shrinkage were inversely correlated in the tested resins.

  • As a eco-friendly material, Hwangtoh (red clay) has been studied for complete or partial replacement of portland cement. Most of existing studies focused on the material properties of the Hwangtoh concrete including the compressive strength, drying shringkage, and creep. In the present study, the shear strength of the beams made with the Hwangtoh concrete was tested. Further, bond strength of tension re-bars embedded in the Hwangtoh concrete was tested. One of the concrete tested consisted of activated Hwangtoh replacing 20% of the cement. The other consisted 100% activated. Hwangtoh replacing all the cement. The beam specimens were tested under two point static loading. The test result showed that the shear strength of activated Hwangtoh concrete beams replacing 20% and 100% of cement was equivalent to that of the ordinary portland cement concrete beam. However, the bond strength of activated Hwangtoh concrete replacing 100% of the cement was less than that of the ordinary portland cement concrete.

  • 174 isolates of soil microorganisms were isolated from E-golf club from Apr.1997 through Oct. 1997. And 27 strains of them were selected through the inhihition test of mycelial growth. In the same period, soil-borne diesease pathogens, "Rhizoctonia", causing Large patch, Brown patch, Spring dead spot, and Yellow patch were isolated from the diseased areas in E-golf and S-golf club. The antagonistic activity of the strains against the pathogens was tested to select the excel-lent antagonists. In contact with the fungicides, the survivability of the antagonists was tested to assess the compatibility of the antagonists with the pesticides. The results were as follows: 1.Suppression of Rhizoctonia by Antagonists. Antagonistic activity of 27 strains against the pathogens was: tested in vitro. In the result, 3 isolates(B-7, B-15, B-41) of bacteria and 2 isolates(F-5, F-47) of fungi were superior to the rest. 2.Compatibility of the antagonists: with the fungicides: With 13 kinds of pesticides widely using Golf Club, Compatibility of 5 antagonists: were finally tested to select the strains: that mostly survived in contact with pesticides. In the results:, two of five strains: were selected : one strain was bacteria B-15, the other strain was fungi F-47. 24h after the mixing with pesticides:, these two strains were shown to survive at 90% level and these were identified as Bacillus and Trichoderma, respectively. And the most compatible pesticides: with the antagonists were shown to Polytoxin-D thirarn(s:urvivability 99.4%) and Validamycin-A (survivability 98.6%). Keywords:Antagonist, Large Patch, Trichoderma, Compatibility, Fungicide.Fungicide.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to develop human rights indicators through reliability and validity tests in order to measure the human rights situation of dental hygiene students who experience clinical practice at dental clincs. Methods: The basic framework of questions was constructed through literature review. Nine experts were tested for validity of the contents of the experts twice. The main survey was conducted on 121 students in the 3rd and 4th grade who were enrolled in the department of dental hygiene located in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Gangwon-do. Validity was tested through exploratory factor analysis, and reliability was tested through internal reliability coefficient and test-retest method. Results: The cronbach's α value was 0.734, and the Kappa coefficient was 0.584. The result of the reliability and validity test was composed of 11 questions and 3 factors. Conclusions: During the practice of a dental institution, the validity and reliability of the indicators that can grasp the human rights status of dental hygiene students were tested. It is expected that the indicators of this study will be provided an opportunity to understand the human rights situation of dental hygiene students and to improve problems such as human rights violations.

  • Purpose: As UBC IRMA is being tested, patients out of the reference value are reacting within the value again a few days later the urine collection tested, which causes the reliability of the test to decrease as a result. In this study, we can assume that the physiological changes in the factors would affect the results. The purpose of the study is to find out whether hematuria and proteinuria in the sample as well as the interval time (3 hours or more recommended) have affected the results. As a result, we could discover the changes in factors and increase the reliability of the test. Materials and Methods: 468 people (female: 249, male: 219) who came for the check-up were presented herein for medical examination from 2013.3.15 to 2013.1.2. Some people out of 468 who have reacted onto the reference value were divided into group low titer zone, ow-middle titer zone, and middle-high titer zone and tested for hematuria and proteinuria. During that period, 48 outpatients were asked to fill in a questionnaire regarding the urination interval time. The reagents used were (IDL Biotech AB, Sweden) and UBC IRMA. Results: Of the patients that are formed in the reference value of ($0.1-34.0{\mu}g/L$) turn out to be 52.7 years average age in their low concentration, ($mean{\pm}SD$) of the value of $0.10{\pm}0.02{\mu}g/L$. Among 80 people (50.8%, female: 49.2%), 16 patients (20%) have shown reaction to microscopic hematuria and 10 patients (12.5%) responded to proteinuria. In the average low concentration under 52.5 years of average age, 43 people (53%) have shown reaction to microscopic hematuria and 21 people (26.3%) are proteinuric patients out of 80 patients (male: 50.8%, female: 51.3%). In the middle high concentration of $11.8{\pm}4.82{\mu}g/L$ under the average age 51.7 years, 35 patients (53%) have responded to the microscopic hematuria and proteinuric patients are 26 people (39.3%) out of 66 people (men: 44%, women: 56%). In addition, in the concentration of $51.7{\pm}43.5{\mu}g/L$, some patients who get out of the reference value are observed as the average age of 52.0. 11 patients (78.6%) out of 14 (male: 35.7%, female: 64.3%) react to the microscopic hematuria. There show 6 people (42.8%) who turn out to be as proteinuric patients. As for the interval time, $1.67{\pm}3.71{\mu}g/L$ was the average value among 48 patients (female: 45.8%, male: 54.2%). Conclusion: We cannot see if proteinuria and hematuria directly affect abnormal results of inspection of 8,18 cytokeratin; however, we can find out that they statistically have an influence on highly generating UBC among several mechanisms. Also, although urination interval time was various every 15 minutes, we it does not affect these results.

  • A methanol extract of the roots of bupleurum longiradiatum (Umbelliferar) showed antiinflammatory activity in rats. Hexane, chloroform, butanol, and aqueous fractions from the methanol extract were tested with the result that only the hexane fraction exhibited positive activity. Fractionation of the hexane extract resulted in isolation of arborinone as an active principle.

  • In this paper range measurement systems using ultrasonic and visual sensors are designed. By varying the focus of a camera, the range to a target pattern is computed. Pour different methods are tested for the focusing-based range measurement. The best result is obtained when counting edge pixels found by Laplacian operator. Higher accuracy can be obtained by fusing the measurement of camera focusing with that of ultrasonic sensor. The system designed is experimented within the range of 300-450mm.
