Architecture Design for Maritime Centimeter-Level GNSS Augmentation Service and Initial Experimental Results on Testbed Network

  • In this paper, we overview the system development status of the national maritime precise point positioning-real-time kinematic (PPP-RTK) service in Korea, also known as the Precise POsitioning and INTegrity monitoring (POINT) system. The development of the POINT service began in 2020, and the open service is scheduled to start in 2025. The architecture of the POINT system is composed of three provider-side facilities-a reference station, monitoring station, and central control station-and one user-side receiver platform. Here, we propose the detailed functionality of each component considering unidirectional broadcasting of augmentation data. To meet the centimeter-level user positioning accuracy in maritime coverage, new reference stations were installed. Each reference station operates with a dual receiver and dual antenna to reduce the risk of malfunctioning, which can deteriorate the availability of the POINT service. The initial experimental results of a testbed from corrections generated from the testbed network, including newly installed reference stations, are presented. The results show that the horizontal and vertical accuracies satisfy 2.63 cm and 5.77 cm, respectively. For the purpose of (near) real-time broadcasting of POINT correction data, we designed a correction message format including satellite orbit, satellite clock, satellite signal bias, ionospheric delay, tropospheric delay, and coordinate transformation parameters. The (near) real-time experimental setup utilizing (near) real-time processing of testbed network data and the designed message format are proposed for future testing and verification of the system.

  • 텔레매틱스는 정보통신 분야에서 신성장동력 과제 하나로 국내외적으로 사업경쟁력 확보가 가능한 기술이다. 본연 구에서는 이러한 텔레매틱스를 위한 단말기 시스템 환경을 구축하는데 있어서, 핵심적 역할을 가지는 텔레매틱스 단말 S/W 플랫폼을 위한 표준 아키텍쳐 및 API 설계를 목적으로 한다 이는 OSGi 와 AMI-C 등의 국제 표준 규격을 고려한 국제적 호환성 확보 및 국내의 여러 업체들의 상호 운영성을 확보 할 수 있는 표준화된 아키텍쳐 설계를 주요 목표로 하고 있다. 이는 국내 시장뿐만 아니라, 국제적으로 부재한 플랫폼 아키텍쳐 설계 및 API 개발을 통한 국제경쟁력 강화에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 판단된다.

These services need verification process through priority test to use and are changed. If test using actuality information electronic device for test, much expenses and time may be invested. Home network test bed offers softness of research using control model and simulator, in this paper, Wish to design and embody home network test bed to do environment construction of home network and test of application service. Because use istent power line just as it is without necessity to establish circuit in addition by solution of home network testbed, expense costs to be less and establishment used easy PLC. Also, propriated Wireless sensor network that use Zigbee by solution of home network testbed. Appliance check and monitor square do by Home Auto that know embodied, and embodied by Home Gateway that interlink terminals of Home Auto and out of.

Space Planet Exploration Rover Climbing Test Site Design (우주 행성 탐사 로버 등판 시험장 설계)

  • Space exploration is at the forefront of human scientific endeavors, and planetary exploration rovers play a critical role in studying planetary surfaces. Rover performance is especially vital for safely navigating steep terrain and delicate landscapes found on planets like Mars and the Moon. This paper offers a comprehensive overview of a landing testbed designed to simulate challenging extraterrestrial terrain and loose regolith. The paper briefly outlines lunar crater region topographical features and highlights the importance of these simulations in rover testing. It then explores previous landing testbed developments and describes the design process for a landing testbed to be installed in the dirty thermal vacuum chamber at the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology. Once realized, this proposed landing testbed will enable precise evaluations of rover mobility and exploration capabilities under lunar-like conditions, including high vacuum and extreme temperatures.

  • Biomimetic robots, which emulate characteristics of biological entities such as birds or insects, have the potential to offer a tactical advantage in surveillance and reconnaissance in future battlefields. To effectively utilize these robots, it is essential to develop technologies that emulate the wing flapping of birds or the movements of cockroaches. However, this effort is complicated by the challenges associated with securing the necessary hardware and the complexities involved in software development and validation processes. In this paper, we presents the design and implementation of a multi-HILS based biomimic robot software validation testbed using modeling and simulation (M&S). By employing this testbed, developers can overcome the absence of hardware, simulate future battlefield scenarios, and conduct software development and testing. However, the multi-HILS based testbed may experience inter-device communication delays as the number of test robots increases, significantly affecting the reliability of simulation results. To address this issue, we propose the data distribution service priority (DDSP), a priority-based middleware. DDSP demonstrates an average delay reduction of 1.95 ms compared to the existing DDS, ensuring the required data transmission quality for the testbed.

  • In this paper, we discuss how to design 2-wheeled mobile robot hard wares as reasonable and practical as possible. A segway type mobile robot consists of 2 wheels only, placed in parallel rather than horizon. 2-wheeled mobile robots make you overcome high cost and time consuming maintenance procedures of the robot by reducing the number of robot hardwares. The most challenging thing in a 2-wheeled mobile robot that has many more valid virtues than the traditional mobile robots is to make it balance itself whenever it stands still or goes forward. But balancing itself is not an easy matter and there are many researches and experiments on this issue. When researchers test theories on 2-wheeled mobile robots to improve its self balancing performance, they should consider how to design hard wares of that mobile robot. No matter how great those new theories are, if a testbed for those theories is not suitable, performance output would be poor and meaningless. In this point of view, to design a proper 2-wheeled mobile robot as a testbed is a very important issue with development of new theories. So we define 4 guide lines to design segway type mobile robots reasonably; about motor, battery, and MCU selection and shock-proof design with robust motor setting.

A Study of Future Internet Testbed Construction using NetFGA/OpenFlow Switch on KOREN/KREONET (KOREN/KREONET기반 NetFPGA/OpenFlow 스위치를 이용한 미래인터넷 테스트 베드 구축 방안 연구)

  • Building a large-scale testbed for Future Internet is very important to evaluate a new protocol and new network architecture designed by clean-slate approach. In Korea, new Future Internet testbed project, called FIRST (Future Internet Research for Sustainable Testbed), has been started since Mar. 2009 to design and test new protocols. This project is working together with ETRI and 5 universities. The FIRST@PC is to implement a virtualized hardware-accelerated PC-node by extending the functions of NetFPGA card and build a Future Internet testbed on the KOREN and KREONET for evaluating newly designed protocols and interesting applications. In this paper, we first briefly introduce FIRST@PC project and explain a 'MAC in IP Capsulator' user-space program using raw-socket in Linux to interconnect OpenFlow enabled switch sites on the KOREN and KREONET. After that, we address test results for TCP throughput performance for varying packet size. The test results show that the software based capsulator can support a reasonable bandwidth performance for most of applications.

A Preliminary Development of Real-Time Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation Testbed for the Satellite Formation Flying Navigation and Orbit Control (편대비행위성의 항법 및 궤도제어를 위한 실시간 Hardware-In-the-Loop 시뮬레이션 테스트베드 초기 설계)

  • The main purpose of the current research is to developments a real-time Hardware In-the-Loop (HIL) simulation testbed for the satellite formation flying navigation and orbit control. The HIL simulation testbed is integrated for demonstrations and evaluations of navigation and orbit control algorithms. The HIL simulation testbed is composed of Environment computer, GPS simulator, Flight computer and Visualization computer system. GPS measurements are generated by a SPIRENT GSS6560 multi-channel RF simulator to produce pseudorange, carrier phase measurements. The measurement date are transferred to Satrec Intiative space borne GPS receiver and exchanged by the flight computer system and subsequently processed in a navigation filter to generate relative or absolute state estimates. These results are fed into control algorithm to generate orbit controls required to maintain the formation. These maneuvers are informed to environment computer system to build a close simulation loop. In this paper, the overall design of the HIL simulation testbed for the satellite formation flying navigation and control is presented. Each component of the testbed is then described. Finally, a LEO formation navigation and control simulation is demonstrated by using virtual scenario.

Process Modeling of the Coal-firing Power Plant as a Testbed for the Improvement of the System and Equipment (화력발전 시스템 및 설비 개선 실증을 위한 열물질정산 공정모델 개발)

  • Heat and mass balance process modeling has been conducted for a coal-firing power plant to be used as a testbed facility for development of various plant systems and equipment. As the material and design of the boiler tube bundle and fuel conversion to the biomass have become major concerns, the process modeling is required to incorporate those features in its calculation. The simulation cases for two different generation load show the satisfying results compared to the operational data from the actual system. Based on the established process conditions, the hypothetical case using wood pellet has also been simulated. Additional calculations for the tube bundle has been conducted regarding the changes in the tube material and design.

Design and Implementation of a Simulation Framework for Wireless Data Broadcasting based on Data ID Space Partition

  • For the information services supporting requests of data items from a great number of mobile clients, wireless data broadcasting is an effective way because it can accommodate any number of clients. In the wireless data broadcasting, various air indexing schemes and data scheduling schemes have been developed in order to enable the clients to access their desired data items efficiently. The broadcasting system needs a method to simulate newly designed air indexing and scheduling schemes of the system, and to evaluate the performance parameters of the schemes. In this paper, we design an expandable and efficient simulation framework for the wireless data broadcasting based on the partition of data ID space. The framework can adopt regular and irregular space partition and evaluate various performance parameters of the broadcasting system. We implement a testbed of the broadcasting system using the framework, that adopts IIP, GDI and EXP as its air indexing schemes. We simulate the system using the testbed and evaluate the performance parameters of the system. Thus, we show the efficiency and expandability of the designed and implemented framework.
