The proposed class of generalized logistic models, indexed by an extra parameter, can be used to model or to examine symmetric or asymmetric discrepancies from the logistic model. When there are a finite number of different design points, we are mainly concerned with maximum likelihood estimation of parameters and in deriving their large sample behavior A score test and a bootstrap hypothesis test are also considered to check if the standard logistic model is appropriate to fit the data or if a generalization is needed .

Dynamic compaction is an efficient ground improvement technique for loose soils and waste landfill. The improvement is obtained by controlled high energy tamping and its effects vary with the soil properties and energy input. This study demonstrated the application of dynamic compaction method for the improvement of waste landfill in construction site. Various tests and measurements such as standard penetration test, bore hole loading test, crater settlement, ground settlement, pore water pressure were peformed during dynamic compaction field test. From the field test results, the efficiency of dynamic compaction method for the improvement of waste landfill was proved.

This research aimed at scrutinizing the dyeability of some solvent dyes on polyester and their light fastness to be exploited as a breakthrough in light fastness where utmost fastness is required such as ultramicrofibers and industrial markets. Dyeability on polyester was mainly evaluated by HT exhaust dyeing according to the general procedure. Light fastness has been tested by a preliminary UV test followed by HT xenon test in compliance with standard SAE J1885, 224 KJ. Fading has been determined quantitatively by evaluating the shade deviation and the strength difference between unexposed and exposed samples by means of CIELab values.

A national standard system was developed in order to calibrate and test the oil flowmeters for the petroleum field. A stop valve and a gyroscopic weighing scale were employed for the primary standard of the flow quantity. It is operated by the standing start and finish mode and the static weighing method. The model equation for uncertainty evaluation was based on the calibration principle of standard system. The sources of the uncertainties were quantified and combined according to the GUM(Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement). It was found that the standard system had the relative expanded uncertainty of 0.04 % in the range of 18 - 350 ㎥/ｈ. According to the uncertainty budget, the uncertainties of the fluid density and the volume of pipeline, which were temperature dependent, contributed 92% of final uncertainty in the oil flow standard system.

Background: The quality differences in seedlings of medicinal herbs often affect the quality of medicinal parts. The establishment of the grading standard of Panax notoginseng seedlings is significant for the stable quality of medicinal parts of P. notoginseng. Methods: To establish the grading standard of P. notoginseng seedlings, a total of 36,000 P. notoginseng seedlings were collected from 30 producing areas, of which the fresh weight, root length, root diameter, bud length, bud diameter, and rootlet number were measured. The K-means clustering method was applied to grade seedlings and establish the grading standard. Results: The fresh weight and rootlet number of P. notoginseng seedlings were determined as the final indices of grading. P. notoginseng seedlings from different regions of Yunnan could be preliminarily classified into four grades: the special grade, the premium grade, the standard grade, and culled seedlings. Conclusion: The grading standard was proven to be reasonable according to the agronomic characters, emergence rate, and photosynthetic efficiency of seedlings after transplantation, and the yields and contents of active constituents of the medicinal parts from different grades of seedlings.

Purpose: To determine the effect of sex communication with friends and sexual double standard on contraceptive self-efficacy among university students. Methods: With a survey design, data were collected from 251 university students from three universities in G city from September 2016 to October 2016. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Sex communication with friends, sexual double standard, and contraceptive self-efficacy scores of participants were $58.82{\pm}8.78$, $21.73{\pm}6.00$, and $44.20{\pm}5.91$, respectively. Sex communication with friends and sexual double standard were related to contraceptive self-efficacy. Sexual double standard, sex communication with friends, female, contraceptive education, and contraceptive experience explained 33% of contraceptive self-efficacy of participants. Conclusion: Sexual double standard and sex communication with friends were influencing factors of contraceptive self-efficacy. To improve contraceptive self-efficacy of university students, a program is needed to eliminate sexual double standard and improve sex communication with friends among university students in Korea.

In the bi-directional pile load test (BD PLT) for pile load test of Mega foundation, loading capacity specification were not specified exactly. Therefore there are so many confusions and variations of maximum 2 times in loading capacity are come out. In this study, specifications of bi-directional pile load test (BD PLT) were considered. Based on cases of the bi-directional pile load test performed in domestic areas, maximum equivalent test load, test load increasing ratio and sufficiency ratio of design load were analyzed. It can be known that the loading capacity specification of bi-directional pile load test must be defined as 1-directional test load that is established as more than 2 times of design load.

For the purpose of establishing basic design standards for the manufacture of wheelchairs, a dummy for an ISO-standard wheelchair was modeled for use with a manufactured wheelchair, and the safety and performance of the wheelchair were examined through numerical simulations.
