PURPOSE: The purpose of this study is to identify the immediate effect of posterior pelvic tilt taping on anterior pelvic inclination, gait function, and balance in chronic stroke patients. METHODS: Fourteen chronic stroke subjects were enrolled in this study. Subjects who consented to participate in this cross-over experiment were assigned three interventions: posterior pelvic tilt taping, placebo taping, and no taping, in random order. After tape application, subjects were asked to complete: 1) Anterior pelvic tilt measurement, 2) 10-Meter Walk test, and 3) Limits of stability (LOS) test. To eliminate the learning effect of the tape after tearing off the tape, a 10 minute break was given between posterior pelvic tilt taping intervention and placebo taping intervention. RESULTS: Significant decreases were observed for the anterior pelvic inclination on both sides after posterior pelvic tilt taping application compared with placebo taping and no taping application (p<.05). Post hoc test results differed significantly in the 10-meter walk test after intervention (p<.05). However, there were no significant differences in limits of stability test after intervention (p>.05). CONCLUSION: Posterior pelvic tilt taping in chronic stroke patients decreases the inappropriate anterior pelvic inclination immediately and improves gait function, but it has little effect on balance.
In this study, we propose an automated unit test generation technique for detecting vulnerabilities of Android kernel modules. The technique automatically generates unit test drivers/stubs and unit test inputs for each function of Android kernel modules by utilizing dynamic symbolic execution. To reduce false alarms caused by function pointers and missing pre-conditions of automated unit test generation technique, we develop false alarm reduction techniques that match function pointers by utilizing static analysis and generate pre-conditions by utilizing def-use analysis. We showed that the proposed technique could detect all existing vulnerabilities in the three modules of Android kernel 3.4. Also, the false alarm reduction techniques removed 44.9% of false alarms on average.
Objective The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of Gamitaeeumjowi-tang(GTT) prescribed by doctors of korean(KMD) medicine on liver function. Methods For this single-center, prospective, observational study, we enrolled patients who wished to take GTT prescribed by KMD for losing weight. sixty(60) patients took GTT for 33.8 days and completed questionnaires. Liver function tests(LFTs) were performed bofore(first test) and after each GTT treatment(finish test). For LFT, T-bil, ALP, AST, ALT were measured. Result There were no significant changes in LFT data between the first and finish tests. At first test, levels of test seven(7) patients were more than twice of normal range of upper limit, levels of eight(8) patients were more than normal range of upper limit, less than twice of normal range of upper limit. At last test, levels of nine(9) patients were more than normal range of upper limit, less than twice of normal range of upper limit. Conclusion The current study showed that ingestion of GTT prescribed by KMD did not increase the frequency of abnormal LFTs, at least in the short term.
In the case of a precision equipment, it requires a vibration free environment to provide its proper function. Especially, lithography and inspection devices, which have sub-nanometer class high accuracy and resolution, have come to necessity for producing more improved giga class semiconductor wafers. This high technology equipments require very strict environmental vibration standard in proportion to the accuracy of the manufacturing, inspecting devices. The vibration criteria are usually obtained either by the real vibration exciting test on the equipment or by the analytical calculation. This paper proposes a new method to solve this problem at a time. The permissible vibration level to a precision equipment can be easily obtained by analyzing a process of Frequency Response Function. This paper also demonstrates its effectiveness by applying the proposed method to finding the vibration criteria of a Computer Hard Disk Driver by Impact Test.
Purpose: This study aims to investigate the changes in pulmonary function, gait ability, and quality of life when NMES is applied along with CBE and to provide basic clinical data to be used in pulmonary rehabilitation guidelines for patients with COPD to treat patients with severe COPD. Methods: For this study, CBE and NMES of quadriceps femoris on both sides were applied to the experimental group (n=10), and only CBE was applied to the control group (n=10). For a pre-test, a 6-minute walk test was performed, and pulmonary function and health-related quality of life were measured. Moreover, an exercise program was applied to each group for 30 minutes per session, 5 times a week, for 6 weeks. After that, a post-test was conducted the same way as the pre-test. Results: In the within-group comparison, there were significant differences in forced expiratory volume in one second, 6-minute walk test and health-related quality of life between the experimental group and the control group (p<0.01)(p<0.05). In the between-group comparison, the experimental group showed an increase in forced expiratory volume in one second and 6-minute walk test (p<0.05) and showed a decline in health-related quality of life (p<0.05). Conclusion: The 6-weeks NMES program improved health-related quality in patients with severe COPD by increasing expiratory volume by reinforcing the function of quadriceps femoris. This finding implies that NMES could be an alternative mode for improving physical functions of patients with severe COPD, who cannot participate in a breathing exercise program or are reluctant to participate.

In this paper, we study the electromagnetic interference in adjacent antenna aperture of multi-function radar for Integrated MAST of naval ship, which is operating plural radars, with test result of two different X-band antennas. Two antennas is placed in the test fixture copying the part of Integrated MAST for the experiment. The test figure is modeled to see the electromagnetic interference when antenna beam is steered by using electromagnetic analysis tool. Also, 6 test scenarios is determined to verify experimentally and each test scenario is run in an anechoic chamber. At the test antenna #1 radiates a pulse signal and the signal from the antenna #2 is stored and analyzed in the optic data format through a receiving device. Based on the result, the effect of electromagnetic interference is suggested when multi-function radars in the Integrated MAST are operating in adjacent distance.
Purpose: To explore the effects of action observation combined with modified constraint-induced movement therapy on upper-extremity function and the activities of daily living in subacute stroke patients. Methods: Twenty-four subacute stroke patients were randomly assigned to the experimental group or the control group (n = 12 each). Both groups received therapy based on motor learning concepts, including repetitive and task-specific practice. The experimental group watched video clips for 10 minutes related to tasks performed during modified constraint-induced movement therapy while the control group watched videos unrelated to upper-extremity movement. These programs were performed for 40 minutes a day five times a week for four weeks. Their scores on the Fugl-Meyer assessment of upper extremities (FMA-UE), the action research arm test (ARAT), a motor activity log (amount of use [AOU] and quality of movement [QOM]), and the modified Barthel index (MBI) were recorded. Results: In both groups, all variables were significantly different between the pre-test and post-test periods (p < 0.05). The post-test variables were significantly different within each group (p < 0.05). In the experimental group, the changes between pre-test and post-test scores in the FMA-UE (14.39 ± 4.31 versus 6.31 ± 4.63), the ARAT (16.00 ± 4.73 versus 11.46 ± 3.73), MAL-AOU (1.57 ± 0.15 versus 1.18 ± 0.28), and MBI (27.54 ± 4.65 versus 18.08 ± 8.52) were significantly higher than those of the control group (p < 0.05). Conclusion: These findings suggest that action observation combined with modified constraint-induced movement therapy may be a beneficial rehabilitation option to improve upper-extremity function in subacute stroke patients with moderate impairment.

Despite a series of various developments in underwater acoustic sensor networks, there are still occasions of loss of connection over the network. Because sufficient amounts of drawbacks causing disconnections posed particularly in the middle of connection over the network emerge in the ocean environment, there is a need of new testing mechanism for underwater acoustic networks. In this paper, we proposed to investigate the most vital parts of the network deployment whether they function well in order, without any failure so as to identify where exactly communication process problems and failures are. We introduce step-wised out-test mechanism for UWASNS and accomplished the mechanism by implementing experiments and rigorously checked all the underwater devices utilizing out-test function. Experimental results and out-test function are evinced by implementing, in order to explain our system and conclude with possible future improvements.
PURPOSES : The objective of this study is to evaluate the tack-coating material's properties using the bitumen bond strength(BBS) test and damping test as function of changed curing times. In this study, bonding strength tests were performed according to the curing time of tack coating materials. METHODS : In order to investigate bonding characteristic of tack coating materials, the Pneumatic Adhesion tensile Testing Instrument(PATTI) device is used to measure the bond strength between the tack coating materials and aggregate substrate based on the AASHTO TP-91. Also, damping test as in situ test was used to determine an appropriate traffic openting time for construction vehicle. Four different tack-coating materials were used in this study. The BBS tests were performed a one hour curing and testing temperatures of $5^{\circ}C$, $15^{\circ}C$, and $25^{\circ}C$. Damping test was conducted at 30min, 60min, 90min, and 120 min of curing times with temperatures of $20^{\circ}C$ and $30^{\circ}C$. RESULTS and CONCLUSIONS : The BBS test results show various bond strength as function of tack coat materials. At the same testing condition, A tack coat material shows almost two times higher than D tack coat materials although both materials are satisfied the criteria of material's physical properties. Also, Dampting test results shows similar trend with BBS test result. The damping test result was significantly changed as function of tack coat materials. Based on this study, the tack coating material's curing time is very important. Therefore, both curing time and the bond strength's characteristic has to be considered in standard specification.
