강판 콘크리트 구조 접합부의 설계방식에 따른 검증실험 연구 (A Study on Verification Tests according to Connection Design Methods of Steel Plate Concrete Structures)

  • 본 연구에서는 원전 구조물 내 철근 콘크리트 구조와 강판 콘크리트 구조가 이질접합된 경우를 모사하기 위하여, 상하부 표면강판 간에 타이바를, 상하부 리브재 간에 타이형강을 구성한 보형 실험체를 제작하여 실험체의 면외 휨 거동특성을 확인하고자 하였다. 실험결과, 실험체의 연성거동을 검증하였으며, 타이바와 타이형강이 콘크리트 및 강판의 분리를 방지함으로써 접합부의 취성파괴를 막아주고 있음을 확인하였다. 또한, #14 주철근으로 구성한 강판 콘크리트 구조 접합부에 대하여 두 가지 형태의 기계적 정착이음 방식에 따른 인장실험을 수행함으로써 본 방식의 설계 적정성을 평가하였다. 실험결과, 두 실험체 모두 주철근이 항복에 도달할 때까지 철근의 정착 및 연결 기능을 탄성한도 내에서 건전히 수행하고 있음을 확인하였다.

강섬유 및 헤디드 바를 활용한 고강도 콘크리트 내민받침의 성능 향상 (Enhancing the Performance of High-Strength Concrete Corbels Using Steel Fibers and Headed Bars)

  • 이 연구에서는 강섬유 혼입률과 주인장 철근의 정착 방법을 변수로 한 섬유보강 고강도 콘크리트 내민받침을 제작하고 구조실험을 실시하였다. 강섬유의 혼입, 강섬유 혼입률의 증가에 따라 고강도 콘크리트 내민받침의 내하력, 강성, 연성은 증가하는 것으로 나타났고, 최대 균열폭은 감소하였다. 또한, 횡방향 철근에 용접하여 주인장 타이 철근을 정착한 내민받침 보다 헤디드 바를 주인장 타이 철근으로 사용한 내민받침이 더 높은 내하력, 강성, 연성을 보였다. 따라서, 헤디드 바를 주인장 타이 철근으로 사용하고, 강섬유를 혼입함으로써 내민받침의 내하력, 내구성, 시공성 등을 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 실험 결과를 설계기준의 규준식 및 여러 연구자들이 제안한 예측모델과 비교한 결과, Fattuhi가 제안한 트러스 모델은 섬유 보강 고강도 콘크리트 내민받침의 강도를 잘 예측하는 것으로 나타났다.

헤디드 바와 강섬유로 보강된 Dapped End Beam의 구조 거동에 관한 실험적 연구 (Behavior of Reinforced Dapped End Beams with T-headed Bar and Steel Fibers)

  • In this studies, Dapped End Beams(DEB) having disturbed regions were designed by using strut tie model, and the main purpose of this paper is that whether T-headed bars and Steel fibers will be present or not. The ability of DEB with T-headed bars have a superior performance rather than others, such as improved ductility, larger energy adsorption and enhanced post-peak load carrying capability. The capacity of DEB with steel fibers also show increase of ductility, shear strength, fatigue strength and crack. Each DEB with both headed bars and steel fibers, headed bars, and steel fibers as a substitute reinforced steel in the disturbed regions and a DEB with only stirrup and tie reinforced steel were comparable. In contrast, the headed bar stirrups, the tie headed bars and the reinforced steel fibers did not lose their anchorage and hence were able to develop strain hardening and also served to delay buckling of the flexural compression steel. Excellent load-deflection predictions were obtained by increasing the tension stiffening effect to account for high load effects.

스트럿-타이 모델의 실용화 (Practical Application of Strut-and-tie model)

  • 본 연구는 실용적인 적용을 위한 기본적인 스트럿-타이 모델의 사용방법에 대해 논의한다. 스트럿- 타이 모델의 구성은 평형 조건식에 기초한 하중 경로를 그리는 것으로 시작한다. active sytems, vector active systems, 그리고 section active systems를 포함한 구조 시스템의 이해는 가능한 스트럿 -타이 모델을 위한 적절한 시스템을 선택할 수 있도록 한다. 간단한 원형 fan은 집중하중에서부터 분포하중까지 하중 경로를 표시할 수 있다. 스트럿의 강도는 인장 타이와 유효 압축 강도가 만나는 절점영역의 형태에 따라 결정된다. 스트럿의 유효 압축강도는 주로 transevers 변형률에 의해 영향을 끼치는 것으로 가정한다.

철근콘크리트 파일캡의 해석 및 설계를 위한 개선 3차원 스트럿-타이 모델 (Refined 3-Dimensional Strut-Tie Models for Analysis and Design of Reinforced Concrete Pile Caps)

  • 철근콘크리트 파일캡의 설계 시 사용되고 있는 현행 설계기준의 단면법 및 스트럿-타이 모델 방법은 각각 B-영역으로 이루어진 철근콘크리트 구조부재의 거동과 2차원 응력교란영역을 갖는 철근콘크리트 구조부재의 거동에 기초한 것으로, 이를 응력교란영역(D-영역)을 갖고 3차원 거동이 지배적인 철근콘크리트 파일캡의 설계에 적용하는 것은 적절하지 않다. 이 연구에서는 3축 응력을 받는 콘크리트 스트럿 및 절점영역의 강도특성과 철근이 배치되지 않은 인장영역에서의 콘크리트 타이의 하중저항능력 등을 반영하여 철근콘크리트 파일캡을 합리적으로 설계할 수 있는 개선 3차원 스트럿-타이 모델을 제안하였다. 파괴실험이 수행된 78개 철근콘크리트 파일캡 시험체의 극한강도를 현행 설계기준의 단면법 및 스트럿-타이 모델 방법, 그리고 이 연구의 개선 3차원 스트럿-타이 모델을 이용하여 평가하였으며, 그 결과의 비교분석을 통해 스트럿-타이 모델 방법 적용 시의 3차원 거동 및 하중전달 메커니즘을 묘사하기 위한 적절한 구성요소의 필요성과 이 연구에서 제안한 개선 3차원 스트럿-타이 모델의 타당성을 검증하였다.

Experimental study on the tension of cables and motion of tunnel element for an immersed tunnel element under wind, current and wave

  • The tension of cables and motion response significantly affect safety of an immersed tunnel element in the immersion process. To investigate those, a hydrodynamic scale-model test was carried out and the model experiments was conducted under wind, current and wave loads simultaneously. The immersion standby (the process that the position of the immersed tunnel element should be located before the immersion process) and immersion process conditions have been conducted and illustrated. At the immersion standby conditions, the maximum force of the cables and motion is much larger at the side of incoming wind, wave and current, the maximum force of Element-6 (6 cables directly tie on the element) is larger than for Pontoon-8 (8 cables tie on pontoon of the element), and the flexible connection can reduce the maximum force of the mooring cables and motion of element (i.e. sway is expecting to decrease approximate 40%). The maximum force of the mooring cables increases with the increase of current speed, wave height, and water depth. The motion of immersed tunnel element increases with increase of wave height and water depth, and the current speed had little effect on it. At the immersion process condition, the maximum force of the cables decrease with the increase of immersion depth, and dramatically increase with the increase of wave height (i.e. the tension of cable F4 of pontoons at wave height of 1.5 m (83.3t) is approximately four times that at wave height of 0.8 m). The current speed has no much effect on the maximum force of the cables. The weight has little effect on the maximum force of the mooring cables, and the maximum force of hoisting cables increase with the increase of weight. The maximum value of six-freedom motion amplitude of the immersed tunnel element decreases with the increase of immersion depth, increase with the increase of current speed and wave height (i.e. the roll motion at wave height of 1.5 m is two times that at wave height of 0.8 m). The weight has little effect on the maximum motion amplitude of the immersed tunnel element. The results are significant for the immersion safety of element in engineering practical construction process.

Shear strength model for reinforced concrete beam-column joints based on hybrid approach

  • Behavior of RC beam-column joint is very complex as the composite material behaves differently in elastic and inelastic range. The approaches generally used for predicting joint shear strength are either based on theoretical, strut-and-tie or empirical methods. These approaches are incapable of predicting the accurate response of the joint for entire range of loading. In the present study a new generalized RC beam-column joint shear strength model based on hybrid approach i.e. combined strut-and-tie and empirical approach has been proposed. The contribution of governing parameters affecting the joint shear strength under compression has been derived from compressive strut approach whereas; the governing parameters active under tension has been extracted from empirical approach. The proposed model is applicable for various conditions such as, joints reinforced either with or without shear reinforcement, joints with wide beam or wide column, joints with transverse beams and slab, joints reinforced with X-bars, different anchorage of beam bar, and column subjected to various axial loading conditions. The joint shear strength prediction of the proposed model has been compared with 435 experimental results and with eleven popular models from literature. In comparison to other eleven models the prediction of the proposed model is found closest to the experimental results. Moreover, from statistical analysis of the results, the proposed model has the least coefficient of variation. The proposed model is simple in application and can be effectively used by designers.

  • In this paper, a five degree-of-freedom haptic device is proposed. The proposed haptic device has a pen which is suspended by tensioned six strings. Human operator handles the pen. Six DC motors are used as actuators to generate tensions in six strings to make resultant force feedback at the pen to the human operator Six encoders are used for calculating the movement of the pen. A digital controller is used for generate control signals for the suitable tension in the six strings. A current amplifiers is used for amplifying the control signals. Cable-suspended system has advantages of structure simplicity (only with several strings driven by motors without using other tensioning mechanisms), low inertia, and high force-to-weight ratio. 한림 Slider: 쉽게 미끄러지며 단 방향으로 잠김이 되는 새로운 관절경적 매듭 (The Hallym Slider: A New Arthroscopic Simple Sliding and One-Way Locking Knot)

  • A secure slip knot is very important in the arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder joint. The new 'Hallym Slider', developed by the first author(KCN), has the properties of being a simple sliding and one-way locking knot. This technique can be performed alone without an assistant and has no accidental premature locking during the knot tying. The initial slip knot determines the adequacy of tissue approximation and consequent healing. The 'Hallym Slider' has excellent initial holding capacity, maintaining tension on soft tissue while additional half-hitches are being tied. It locks readily, it takes less time to tie than numerous square knots, and it is not as bulky as other knots. Therefore, we introduce this new sliding and one-way locking knot during the arthroscpic surgery of shoulder.

Transosseous Tie Fixation Using Krackow Sutures and Bone Tunnels in a Comminuted Fracture of the Upper Pole of the Patella: A Case Report

  • Comminuted fractures of the patella mostly occur at the inferior pole and require appropriate reduction and fixation to restore the extensor mechanism. Conventional methods such as tension-band wiring are not enough to gain proper fixation strength. Numerous methods have been reported, including circumferential cerclage wiring, osteosynthesis, and suture anchors depending on the fracture pattern. Herein, the author reports a relatively rare case of a comminuted fracture of the upper pole of the patella, for which we used augmented Krackow sutures in the quadriceps and fixation with tying of the suture limbs through patellar bone tunnels. Satisfactory results were obtained in terms of reduction and extensor mechanism recovery.
