  • A development of device with reduced size and improved sensitivity is highly impotant Pb(Zr,Ti)$O_3$ thin films are widely used both to make actuator and sensor due to their high sensitivity and low cost. In this study, the feasibility of a piezoelectric presssure sensors based on hybrid low-temperaute co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technology were presented. The LTCC diaphragms with thickness of $400\;{\mu}m$ were fabricated by laminating 4 green tapes which consist of alumina and glass particle in an organic binder. PZT thin films were successfully prepared on between top and bottom Au electrode with LTCC substrates using RF magnetron sputtering. In addition, The frequency response characteristics of the sensor under varing pressure has been analysed. by Network Analyser (HP-8722D). A frequency shift range has been obseved from 1.7GHz to 1.8GHz with a good linearity for applied pressure from 0 psi up to 25 psi.

  • The $Comet{\acute{e}}$ Consultatif de $Thermom{\acute{e}}trie$ (CCT) under the Comete International des Poids et Measures (CIPM) has decided to perform the Key Comparison (KC) for triple point of water cells used as a reference fixed point of thermometry at the 21st meeting held at November 2001, and the Bureau International des Poids et Measures (BIPM) has been nominated as a KC coordinator. According to the KC protocol prepared by BIPM, KRISS performed the KC experiments and evaluate a uncertainty. The temperature difference between two reference cells for the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) and a test cell for the transfer standard, which is moved to BIPM was 0.024 mK and the combined standard uncertainty evaluated 0.055 mK.

  • The effects of pump and temperature on drag reducing characteristics were investigated with a polymer(PAAM : Polyacrylamide) and three kinds of surfactants(CTAC, STAC, Habon-G) in fully developed turbulent pipe flows with various experimental parameters such as additive concentration(30~500ppm), pipe diameter(4.65mm, 10.85mm), Reynolds number($4{\times}10^4{\sim}10^5$) and working fluid temperature($20{\sim}80^{\circ}C$). The pump effect on PAAM was severe such that the drag reduction rates obtained with pump were decreased upto 30% as compared with those obtained with compressed air in 4.65mm test section. The temperature effect on PAAM was noticeably considerable, that is, the higher temperaute, the less drag reduction rate. On the other hand, no significant pump effect on the surfactants was observed. The drag reducing effectiveness of CTAC was totally lost in the temperature ragne of 60 to $80^{\circ}C$, whereas STAC and Habon-G kept their distinct drag reducing capability at a temperature of $80^{\circ}C$. This study clearly elucidated that for DHC application of drag reducing additives, the pump and temperature effects as well as additive concentration and pipe diameter should be carefully taken into consideration.

  • In this study, to clarify the differences rebar corrosion beginning, through the actual corrosion accelerated test in corrosion time and laboratory test chamber of the structure of the marine environment results in both environments, it is an object of correlation coefficient derived. The accelerated corrosion test was carried out by two case, I.e., one is $20^{\circ}C$ of low temperaure codition(case 1), and the other is $65^{\circ}C$ of high temperaute codition(case 2). Whether corroions occurs, it was measures using half-cell potential method. The results indicated that case 2 is to acclerate the corrosion of rebar about 1.7~1.8 times as compared with case 1, thenthe corrosion of rebar embadded in concrete occurred according to the order of OPC60, FA, BS, OPC35. Correlation coefficient between acclerated corrosion test and long-term exposure test, case 1 is 2.45 to 2.94, and case 2 is 4.37~4.99.

  • A pot experiment was conducted to understand effect of soil temperaute on soybean shoot and root growth, and its relations to nutrient uptake including phosporus and potassium. Pregerminated soybean seedlings, Paldal cultivar, were planted for 43 days on the pots with Ihyeon silt loam and Samgag sandy loam in the temperature controled water baths at 17, 25 and $32^{\circ}C$. Shoot and root samples were taken at four times and analyzed. Shoot and root dry matter weights were heavier as higher soil temperaure. The root dry matter increased faster than shoot at earlier period. Shoot dry matter weights grown at 17 and $25^{\circ}C$ showed little difference between two soils, however, those grown in silt loam at $32^{\circ}C$ were heavier than sandy loam. The total lengths of roots were longer as higher soil temperature, and longer in silt loam than sandy loam. The roots grown in sandy loam at low temperature were thicker than the roots grown in silt loam at high temperature. The uptakes of phosphorus and potassium were higher as higher tempeature with same trend with dry matter. The uptake rate of unit root surface area was higher in sandy loam soil than silt loam. The uptake rates showed strong dependence on soil temperature as well as dependence of water uptake rate. Based on Dalton and Gardner model, at high temperature the dependence trend of phosphorus and potassium on soil temperature showed with active uptake model, while at low temperature the dependence showed without active uptake model.
