The code division multiple access(CDMA) system capacity is limited by the amount of interference of the system. To reduce the unnecessary interference, this paper proposes optimized cell identification codes for site selection diversity transmission(SSDT) power control in wideband code division multiple access system of third generation partnership project(3GPP). The main objective of SSDT power control is to transmit on the downlink from the primary cell, and thus reducing the interference caused by the multiple transmission. In order to select a primary cell, each cell is assigned a temporary identification(ID) and user equipment(UE) periodically informs a primary cell ID to the connecting cells during soft handover. The non-primary cells selected by UE do not transmit the dedicated physical data channel(DPDCH) to reduce the interference. A major issue with the SSDT technology is the impact of uplink symbol errors on its performance. These errors can corrupt the primary ID code and this may lead to wrong decoding in the base station receivers. The proposed SSDT cell ID codes are designed to minimize the problem and to be easily decoded using simple fast Hadamard transformation(FHT) decoder.

The construction of new roads and the consistent extension of already-existing roads or the line-shape revision of those roads are increased with the governmental investment to SOC facilities currently. Accordingly, the road cut slopes are in the trend of rapidly increasing. As the road slope has increased, a lot of human and property damages has entailed consequently and in the local case, numerous studies have carried out aiming at minimizing this damages caused by the rockfall and landslide. In general, standard falling rock prevention facility has employed for most of the local road slope based on "Guide for Installation and Management of Road Safety Facilities" published by MLTM(the Ministry of Land, Transport, and Maritime Affairs) but profound doubt has raised as to whether this rockfall prevention facility would function properly enough to prevent rockfall efficiently without any damages in case of actual occurrence of rockfall. In addition, it is a reality that in most cases, such work is relied on overseas technology as a whole as the local technical level is low and in case of rockfall prevention net, it is judged that a study on rockfall prevention net that is able to endure more powerful rockfall energy is required as the problem including net bursting is taken place as a result of enough bearing force being failed to be demonstrated due to its partial weak point(not uniformly made). Under this background, in this study, three kinds of model depending on mesh size of expanded metal that is considered to have an adoptability as rockfall prevention net, as target are selected and characteristics depending on mesh size of expanded metal is intended to be researched through a pull-out test performance by using pull-out test equipment rockfall prevention net.
Biopotential signals have been used as command in systems using electrical stimulation of motor nerves to restore movement after an injury to the central nervous system (CNS). In order to use the voluntary EMG (electromyography) among the biopotentials as a control signal for the electrical stimulation of the same muscle for CNS injury patients, it is necessary to remove M-wave of having high magnitude from raw data. We designed an optimal filter for removing the M-wave and preserving the voluntary EMG and showed that the optimal filter is eigen filter. We also proved that the previous method using the prediction error filter(PEF) is a suboptimal filtering in the sense of preserving the voluntary EMG. On basis of the data obtained from a model for M-wave and voluntary EMG and from actual CNS injury patients, with false-positive rate analysis, the proposed adaptive filter showed a very promising performance in comparison with previous method.
Modern seismic codes rely on performance-based seismic design methodology which requires that the structures withstand inelastic deformation. Many studies have focused on the inelastic deformation ratio evaluation (ratio between the inelastic and elastic maximum lateral displacement demands) for various inelastic spectra. This paper investigates the inelastic response spectra through the ductility demand ${\mu}$, the yield strength reduction factor $R_y$, and the inelastic deformation ratio. They depend on the vibration period T, the post-to-preyield stiffness ratio ${\alpha}$, the peak ground acceleration (PGA), and the normalized yield strength coefficient ${\eta}$ (ratio of yield strength coefficient divided by the PGA). A new inelastic deformation ratio $C_{\eta}$ is defined; it is related to the capacity curve (pushover curve) through the coefficient (${\eta}$) and the ratio (${\alpha}$) that are used as control parameters. A set of 140 real ground motions is selected. The structures are bilinear inelastic single degree of freedom systems (SDOF). The sensitivity of the resulting inelastic deformation ratio mean values is discussed for different levels of normalized yield strength coefficient. The influence of vibration period T, post-to-preyield stiffness ratio ${\alpha}$, normalized yield strength coefficient ${\eta}$, earthquake magnitude, ruptures distance (i.e., to fault rupture) and site conditions is also investigated. A regression analysis leads to simplified expressions of this inelastic deformation ratio. These simplified equations estimate the inelastic deformation ratio for structures, which is a key parameter for design or evaluation. The results show that, for a given level of normalized yield strength coefficient, these inelastic displacement ratios become non sensitive to none of the rupture distance, the earthquake magnitude or the site class. Furthermore, they show that the post-to-preyield stiffness has a negligible effect on the inelastic deformation ratio if the normalized yield strength coefficient is greater than unity.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to analyze the prehospital care report prepared by EMS squads of 119 center in Gyeonggi area and to identify the status of prehospital care activities, problems and improvement possibilities of the emergency care. Method : Five hundred copies of prehospital care report prepared by EMS squads in thirty-eight 119 centers under 18 fire stations in Gyeonggi area from March to April in 2008 were randomly chosen for the analysis. Data abstracted according to the purpose of the study were input and the analysis of prehospital care activities were performed using SPSS-WIN(ver. 16) statistics package. Results : 1. Total 500 cases of prehospital emergency care activities were reviewed. By sex, females were 219 (43.8%) and males were 281 (56.2%). The places of reporting were home (57.8%). According to the type of emergency, 281 cases (56.2%) were caused by disease and 291 (43.8%) were from other causes such as traffic accidents or incidental injuries. 2 The average time needed for the 119 EMS squad to arrive at the scene after being reported was 7.29 minutes. The time used at the scene for the emergency care was 7.3 minutes in average and the time to arrive at the hospital was 25.4 minutes in average. 3. In patient evaluation, in 68% of the cases more than two vital signs were measured at one time and emergency patients were 31%, and non-emergency patients were 69%. 4. In one EMS activity, average 2.15 cases of emergency care were provided to a patient. The cases where two kinds of emergency care were given were 14.4%, which is the most frequent cases. When reviewing the details of the emergency cares given to the patient including multiple cares, trivial cards (taking it easy and giving comfort) were the most frequent one as 40.6% and the medical direction of the doctor was given in only one case out of 500 cases. 5. In patient evaluation and emergency care, vital signs were provided to emergency patients at significantly higher rate comparing to the non-emergency patients. The number of emergency care performance was significantly higher in emergency cases. In emergency dispatch, the cases that EMT (1st class) was on board was 86.2%. When comparing the cases when the 1st class EMT was on board and otherwise, the cases with the presence of 1st class EMT showed more vital signs were detected but there was no significant difference in the number of emergency cares provided. Conclusion : It seemed that the on-scene emergency care did not satisfy the expectations. So it is necessary to enforce the cooperation between the elements, the qualifications of the 119 EMS squads and to improve the prehospital working environment in order to provide the better medical service at any time.
Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) are often used as fuel for vehicles because they are clean alternative gas fuels. CNG, as a low-carbon fuel, can contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. LPG is often used as fuel for taxis because the performance is almost the same as that of gasoline but the price is lower. In the present study, the exhaust gas and the particle number (PN) of particulate matter, which is a recent environmental issue, were compared between LPG and CNG for the same vehicle. A chassis dynamometer was used to conduct the test according to the Federal Test Procedure (FTP)-75 and Worldwide harmonized Light-duty vehicle Test Procedure (WLTC) modes. The PN values of discharged particles having sizes of 5 nm or larger and 23 nm or larger were measured using two condensation particle counters (CPC). The ratio of carbon dioxide was high in the exhaust gas from the LPG vehicle; the ratio of methane was high in the exhaust gas from the CNG vehicle. The PN values of the emitted particles from the two fuels were similar. The PN values of particles having sizes of 23 nm or smaller were high in the high-speed WLTC mode.

Multi-layer ceramic capacitors as decoupling capacitor were fabricated by dielectric composition with a high dielectric constant. The fabricated decoupling capacitors were embedded in the PCB of the 10G RF transceiver module and evaluated for the characteristics of electrical noise by the level of AC input voltage. In order to further improve the electrical properties of the $BaTiO_3$ based composite, glass frit, MgO, $Y_2O_3$, $Mn_3O$, $V_2O_5$, $BaCO_3$, $SiO_2$, and $Al_2O_3$ were used as additives. The electrical properties of the composites were determined by various amounts of additives and optimum sintering temperature. As a result of the optimized composite, it was possible to obtain a density of $5.77g/cm^3$, a dielectric constant of 1994, and an insulation resistance of $2.91{\times}10^{12}{\Omega}$ at an additive content of 5wt% and a sintering temperature of $1250^{\circ}C$. After forming a $2.5{\mu}m$ green sheet using the doctor blade method, a total of 77 layers were laminated and sintered at $1180^{\circ}C$. A decoupling capacitor with a size of $0.6mm(W){\times}0.3mm(L){\times}0.3mm(T)$ (width, length and thickness, respectively) and a capacitance of 100 nF was embedded using a PCB process for the 10G RF Transceiver modules. In the range of AC input voltage 400mmV @ 500kHz to 2200mV @ 900kHz, the embedded 10G RF Transceiver modules evaluated that it has better electrical performance than the non-embedded modules.

The performance of Enterprise Architecture (EA) in the Korea's public IT domain produces mixed results and responses. On the one hand, EA earns positive remarks and enthusiasm as a central government-wide IT governance framework with its significant IT budget saving records. At the same time, however, the response to EA at the department and agency level is tainted with disappointment, fatigue, and reluctance. This essay suggests that this is perhaps caused by the sterile lackluster concept of EA Business Architecture employed in the current EA practice of the enterprise. The possibility for liberating and reviving the concept of EA Business Architecture is explored. Various conceptual axes and branches of EA Business Architecture are identified based upon extensive EA field experience and observations, and discussions are made on how the concept of EA Business Architecture can be expanded and amplified on those conceptual axes and branched. The resulting EA Business Architecture conceptualization is consolidated into an illustrative typology for EA Business Architecture. In the end the theoretical and practical implications of the research are discussed along with its contribution and limitation.

Directional transmission is one of key technology to solve the utmost problem that current mobile communication system faces, which is explosively increasing data traffic, since directional transmission can maximize the throughput of mobile communication systems. In this work, we consider power allocation scheme for mobile communication system which utilizing directional transmission. Especially, we consider the case in which multiple users in the same sector of base station, are served at the same time by utilizing directional transmission. For this scenarios, we consider equal power allocation scheme, Water-filling based scheme and inverse SNR scheme. Moreover, we propose beam power allocation scheme whose objective is to maximize overall system throughput by taking into account interference between different directional transmissions. Moreover, we have examined the spectral efficiency and Jain's fairness index of various power allocation schemes for directional transmission by using system level simulator that has been developed in our previous work. Through simulations, it has been verified that the proposed power allocation scheme can improve the spectral efficiency of the system by 28%.

Median filtering is very effective to remove impulse type noises, so it has been widely used in many signal processing applications. However, due to the time complexity of its non-linearity, median filtering is often used using a small filter window size. A lot of work has been done on devising fast median filtering algorithms, but most of them can be efficiently applied to input data with finite integer values like images. Little work has been carried out on fast 2-d median filtering algorithms that can deal with real-valued 2-d data. In this paper, a fast and simple median 2-d filter is presented, and its performance is compared with the Matlab's 2-d median filter and a heap-based 2-d median filter. The proposed algorithm is shown to be much faster than the Matlab's 2-d median filter and consistently faster than the heap-based algorithm that is much more complicated than the proposed one. Also, a more efficient median filtering scheme for 2-d real valued data with a finite range of values is presented that uses higher-bit integer 2-d median filtering with negligible quantization errors.
