SPME/GC-MS를 이용한 혈액중의 호모시스테인, 메치오닌 및 시스테인의 분석 (Determination of Homocysteine, Methionine, Cysteine in Human Plasma with SPME/GC-MS)

  • SPME/GC-MS 방법을 이용하여 호모시스테인, 메치오닌 및 시스테인의 혈액중의 함량을 측정하고 관상동맥질환과 호모시스테인의 함량과의 관계를 조사하였다. 혈액중의 호모시스테인, 메치오닌 및 시스테인은 관상동맥질환의 위해성에 대한 생체표식인자로 알려지고 있다. 관상동맥질환자들에 대한 이들의 함량분포는 호모시스테인의 경우 $18.47-33.38{\mu}mol/L$,메치오닌피 경우는 $30.16-55.72{\mu}mol/L$ 그리고 시스테인의 경우는 $183.16-387.32{\mu}mol/L$ 범위의 함량을 보였다. 이 방법은 시간과 노력이 절약되고 또한 용매의 제한 사용으로 훨씬 환경 친화적인 방법임을 시사하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 소출력 무선통신기술을 기반으로 분산 배치된 센서노드의 상태를 감시하고 제어를 수행하는 USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network)시스템을 철도의 열차제어에 활용하기 위한 신뢰도 모델링결과를 제시한다. 일반적인 USN시스템은 센서노드, 게이트웨이, 서버로 구분할 수 있으며, 본 논문에서는 USN의 구성요소 중 다수의 센서노드간 무선망을 관리하고 정보를 취합하는 게이트웨이를 대상으로 신뢰성 및 안전성을 평가하고 향상시키기 위한 설계방안을 연구하였다. 이를 위해 일반적으로 사용되는 게이트웨이의 신뢰도와 안전무결성수준을 정량적으로 예측하고, 취약부분을 선별한 후 보완설계를 실시하여 향상된 게이트웨이의 신뢰성 및 안전성을 관련 규격에 따라 입증함으로써 열차제어에 대한 USN 게이트웨이 적용 가능성을 검토하였다.

  • Objectives : The present study examines the domestic trend of Chuna treatments on lumbar spinal disorder in Korea. Methods : We investigated the studies on Chuna treatments for lumbar spinal disorder via searching 10 Korean web databases. As a result, 63 research papers were found to be analyzed according to their published year, the titles of journals, the types of study, the techniques of Chuna, the instruments for assessment, the Chuna technique and the number of the treatment trials by the cases of lumbar spinal disorder and ethical approvals. Results : The number of the research papers published tends to increase every year. The studies on Chuna treatments were mainly published in The Journal of Korea CHUNA Manual Medicine for Spine & Nerves. The most frequently adopted technique of Chuna in the examined studies was Cox flexion & distraction technique. Visual analogue scale(VAS), oswestry disability questionnaire(ODI) were used as primary means of assessments. The ethical problems of the examined studies needed to be improved. Conclusion : Reviewing the domestic trend of studies on Chuna treatments for lumbar spinal disorder and examining the strong and weak points of those treatments are essential for the future studies. It is anticipated that this review benefits the future in-depth study on the treatments for Chuna in Korean medicine.

통항선박의 점용영역 밀집도 분석을 통한 해상교통혼잡도 평가 개선에 관한 연구 (Improving Assessments of Maritime Traffic Congestion Based On Occupancy Area Density Analysis for Traffic Vessels)

  • 어떤 해역의 해상교통혼잡도를 평가하는 데 있어서 단위 시간당 항행 척수인 교통량을 분석하는 것보다 어떤 시간 단면에 존재하는 단위 면적당의 밀집도 분석을 활용하는 것이 합리적일 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 해상교통안전진단 대행기관의 해상교통혼잡도 평가기법을 표준화하고, 선박톤급별 환산교통량 사용으로 인한 평가오차를 최소화하기 위하여 새로운 방안을 찾고자 한다. 이를 해결하기 위해 선박자동식별장치(Automatic Identification System, AIS)의 통항선박 데이터를 활용하여 항로구간면적 대비 식별된 개개의 통항선박이 갖고 있는 점용영역의 면적을 합산한 값과의 백분율을 해상교통혼잡도로 평가하는 방안을 제시하였다. 새로운 모형에서는 정보통신기술의 획기적인 발달로 인해 실제 데이터 사용이 가능하여 환산 데이터에 의한 오차발생을 줄일 수 있고, 항로구간별 해상교통혼잡도 평가도 가능하게 되었다.

농업용 저수지의 농업가뭄에 대한 기후변화 잠재영향 평가 (Assessing the Potential Impact of Climate Change on Irrigation by Reservoir)

  • In order to assess the impact of climate change on irrigation reservoirs, climate exposure (EI), sensitivity (SI), and potential impact (PI) were evaluated for 1,651 reservoirs nationwide. Climate exposure and sensitivity by each reservoir were calculated using data collected from 2011 to 2020 for seven proxy variables (e.g. annual rainfall) and six proxy variables (e.g. irrigation days), respectively. The potential impact was calculated as the weighted sum of climate exposure and sensitivity, and was classified into four levels: 'Low (PI<0.4)', 'Medium (PI<0.6)', 'High (PI<0.8)', and 'Critical (PI≥0.8)'. The result showed that both the climate exposure index and the sensitivity index were on average high in Daegu and Gyeongbuk with high temperature and low rainfall. About 79.8% of irrigation reservoirs in Daegu, Gyeongbuk, and Ulsan with high climate exposure and sensitivity resulted in a 'High' level of potential impact. On the contrary, 64.5% of the study reservoirs in Gyeongnam and Gangwon showed 'Low' in potential impact. In further studies, it is required to reorganize the proxy variables and the weights in accordance with practical alternatives for improving adaptive capacity to drought, and it is expected to contribute to establishing a framework for vulnerability assessment of an irrigation reservoir.

An Assessment of the Multiple Challenges Associated with Student's Access to Electronic Resources at a Public University Library in Ghana

  • Our understanding of how barriers to access systematically varies with the compositional and contextual characteristics of users is incomplete. Using a public university library in Ghana, this study assessed the heterogeneous barriers or constraints students encounter in accessing electronic resources based on their demographic and contextual attributes. A descriptive survey design was adopted and structured questionnaires were administered randomly to 558 students in the four constituent colleges of the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Data were collected and analysed using SPSS and descriptive statistics were generated. The results revealed that students faced six key challenges in accessing electronic information resources in the library namely delays in download of information, poor internet connectivity, and limited accessibility of university portal, inadequate computers in the library, poor lighting and limited ancillary services (on the spot printing facilities), with differences based on gender, academic level, and college affiliation. Only 24% males and 26% females had no challenges or problems with delays in download of electronic information. About three-fourth of all users had poor internet connectivity and complained about inadequate computers associated with accessing electronic resources. 40% percent of undergraduate students in the Colleges of Education Studies, Agriculture and Natural Sciences, and Humanities and Legal Studies each encountered four to six simultaneous challenges. Irrespective of gender, first year undergraduate students in all the four colleges were the least likely to report multiple challenges. This suggests the need for targeted and context-specific interventions to address the identified challenges.

교과기반 학습성취 평가 및 적응형 피드백 시스템 설계 (Study on Course-Embedded Learning Achievement Evaluation and Adaptive Feedback)

  • 고등교육기관의 역량 중심 교육과정 운영을 위해서는 교과목 수준에서 교과 학습목표(성과기준)의 성취수준을 다각도로 평가하여 학습자의 역량 함양 정도를 파악하는 교과기반 학습평가 방법에 대한 연구가 지속적으로 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 교과목 학습성과, 학습주제, 학습개념 기반의 학습평가 모델 및 성취수준에 따른 개인화된 학습 피드백 모델을 제안한다. 먼저 데이터 모델링 과정에서 교과목의 계층화된 학습성과, 학습주제 및 학습개념 그래프 및 학습성과-평가 매트릭스 모델을 정의하고 이를 기반으로 학습성과별, 학습주제별, 학습자별 등 다각도의 학습성취 수준을 측정하고 피드백하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 학습성취평가 모델의 유효성을 검증하기 위해 자바프로그래밍 교과목에 적용하여 실제 데이터를 기반으로 실험을 진행하였으며 그 결과 성취수준의 산출 및 학습 피드백이 가능함을 보였다.

폐탄광 산림복구지 관리방안 도출을 위한 산림복구 후 시간경과에 따른 임분탄소저장량 평가 (Assessment of Carbon Storage Capacity of Stands in Abandoned Coal Mine Forest Rehabilitation Areas over time for its Development of Management Strategy)

  • The objective of this study was to develop a management strategy for the recovery of carbon storage capacity of abandoned coal mine forest rehabilitation area. For the purpose, the biomass and stand carbon storage over time after the forest rehabilitation by tree type for Betula platyphylla, Pinus densiflora, and Alnus hirsuta trees which are major tree species widely planted for the forest rehabilitation in the abandoned coal mine were calculated, and compared them with general forest. The carbon storage in abandoned coal mine forest rehabilitation areas was lower than that in general forests, and based on tree species, Pinus densiflora stored 48.9%, Alnus hirsuta 41.1%, and Betula platyphylla 27.0%. This low carbon storage is thought to be caused by poor growth because soil chemical properties, such as low TOC and total nitrogen content, in the soil of abandoned coal mine forest rehabilitation areas, were adverse to vegetation growth compared to those in general forests. DBH, stand biomass, and stand carbon storage tended to increase after forest rehabilitation over time, whereas stand density decreased. Stand' biomass and carbon storage increased as DBH and stand density increased, but there was a negative correlation between stand density and DBH. Therefore, after forest rehabilitation, growth status should be monitored, an appropriate growth space for trees should be maintained by thinning and pruning, and the soil chemical properties such as fertilization must be managed. It is expected that the carbon storage capacity the forest rehabilitation area could be restored to a level similar to that of general forests.

Assessment of public knowledge, perception, and acceptance of nuclear power in Bangladesh

  • Public perception plays a crucial role in the successful completion of a nuclear power project. As a newcomer country to nuclear power, there are lots of misconceptions among the Bangladeshi people about nuclear energy. Consequently, it is crucial to minimize all the doubts among mass people and build up their positive outlook toward nuclear power. This demands a comprehensive survey to figure out the public opinion, concerns, false impressions, and knowledge gap regarding nuclear power. In the present study, these issues were addressed by a survey that was responded to by 661 persons for the 24 survey questions. The questions were categorized based on information, knowledge, faith, benefit, awareness, and technology. Feedback and responders' basic demographic and socioeconomic information were collected from various locations in Bangladesh through online and in-person surveys. The responses were analyzed in both statistical and descriptive ways. Some of the feedback was found to vary with age, sex, and education level while others were quite independent of these parameters. It is found that socioeconomic development and energy security can be achieved by the inclusion of nuclear energy in the power system master plan of the country. However, huge knowledge gaps and misconceptions were found among the public regarding nuclear energy. As per feedback, political instability and corruption may affect the national nuclear power project in Bangladesh. Low faith in the existing rules & regulations for nuclear power programs was also observed. The result of this study will be handy to develop the communication and public awareness strategy for a successful nuclear power project in Bangladesh.

기후변화와 자연재난의 건강영향 (Health Impacts of Climate Change and Natural Disaster)

  • 제 5차 IPCC보고서(2014)에 의하면, 지구온난화의 원인은 온실가스(GHG)에 기인하며 가장 중요한 화석연료의 연소에서 발생하는 CO2, NO2, 메탄 등이다. IPCC는 2099년까지 지구 온도가 3.7℃ 상승하고 해수면은 0.63 m 상승할 것으로 예측하였다. 기후변화는 SDGs의 매우 중요한 한 부분이며, 그중 지구온난화는 잠재적으로 인류 건강에 가장 큰 위협이며 여러 다양한 질병의 원인이다. 만약 현재의 가스 배출과 토지이용의 추세가 계속된다면 미래의 세대는 질병, 부상, 자연재난으로 인한 사망, 감염, 영양부족, 대기오염으로 인한 사망율 등 매우 심각한 상황에 직면하게 될 것이다. 이 글에서는 홍수, 가뭄, 열 스트레스. 대기오염, 물부족, 영양실조, 전염성질환, 매개질환 등 지구기후변화와 이와 관련된 자연재난과 인류 건강의 관계를 조명하여 보았다.
