The purpose of this paper is to analyze the case of leading company in digital contents to promote industrial competitiveness of Korea. Analysis of this case study focuses on function and roles of leading company in digital contents industry. The main results of the paper are as follows: First, the government should prepare, main, and improve required technological and legal infrastructure for digital contents as quickly as possible. Second, the diffusion of the new digital contents companies can be promoted by ensuring fare competition and reliable market. For the inducing of this results, brainstorming methodology of related expert and survey research with leading company were applied to this paper.

본 연구는 벤처캐피탈 투자가 중소벤처기업의 기술적 성과(특허)에 미치는 영향을 분석하였으며 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 벤처캐피탈 투자지분율이 높을수록, R&D집약도가 높을수록 기술적 성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 벤처캐피탈이 공동투자한 기업 또는 투자지분율이 월등하게 높은 리딩(leading) 투자자가 있는 투자기업의 경우에도 기술적 성과가 정(+)의 결과를 보이고 있다. 그러나 기업규모가 클수록, 기술인력이 많을수록 기술적 성과가 정(+)의 결과를 보이고 있으나 유의하지 않았다. 이는 벤처캐피탈의 투자기업에 대한 모니터링과 통제 그리고 경영 또는 기술적 지원이 효과를 발휘하고 있거나 다른 투자자들의 검증을 받은 기업 또는 비교적 안정적인 기업에 투자가 집중된 결과로 해석할 수 있다.

이 연구는 산업클러스터와 산업네트워크론의 관점에서 부산지역 기계 금속산업의 실태와 특성을 조사, 분석하였다. 이를 위해 산업네트워크와 산업클러스터의 관계를 재설정하고 산업네트워크의 구성부문들을 분석하는 이론적 작업을 시도하였다. 또, 부산지역 기계 금속산업의 발전과정 및 실태와 관련된 각종 통계 분석 작업과 함께, 이 분야의 기업들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 이 분석 결과로 다음의 세 가지 결론이 도출되었다. 첫째 부산지역 기계 금속산업은 비록 규모가 크지 않다고 하더라도 독자적인 산업클러스터를 형성하고 있다. 그것은 동남권 기계 금속산업벨트의 하위 구성요소로서 존재하기도 하지만 그 이전에 명확히 구별되는 국지적 산업클러스터를 형성하고 있다. 둘째, 부산지역 기계 금속산업의 기술수준 및 경쟁력은 여전히 낮은 수준에 머물러 있다. 이 지역의 업체들은 낮은 수준의 기술과 경쟁력의 균형상태에서 국지적 네트워크를 맺고 있는 것이다. 셋째, 부산지역 기계 금속산업클러스터를 현재의 정체상태에서 도약하여 고도화를 이루기 위해서는 선도기술형 산업클러스터로의 이행이 필요하며, 이 산업분야의 선도기술기업을 적극적으로 유치하거나 창업하도록 지원하는 것이 요구된다.

ICT분야는 지난 20여 년간 산업촉진 및 효율성 제고 측면에서 강력한 정부주도로 정보화를 추진하여 많은 성과를 거두었고, 현재에도 국내 산업을 견인하고 있다. ICT분야가 주목을 받는 만큼 특허 분쟁도 심화되었고 ICT분야의 특허 확보도 매우 중요해졌다. 특허는 기업의 기술혁신의 수준을 평가하는 대표적인 척도로 인식되어 기업의 성과를 측정하는데 많이 활용되고 있다. 그러나 기존의 연구는 특허의 양(量)적인 성장이 기업 경영성과에 영향을 미치는가에 대한 연구가 대부분으로 질(質)적 수준에 대한 연구는 미진하였다. 본 연구에서는 국가산업을 기인하는 ICT 기업이 보유한 특허의 질적 수준이 경영성과에 영향을 미치는지 분석하였다. 즉, 특허의 질적 수준을 측정하는 척도인 기술혁신 활동 집중도가 기업의 성장성과 수익성에 영향을 미치는지 분석하였다. 연구결과, 기술혁신 활동 집중도의 현시기술우위 지수(RTA)와 집중률 지수(CRn)는 기업의 성장성과 수익성에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통하여 ICT분야에서 특허의 질적 수준이 높을수록 기업의 성장성 및 수익성에 정(+)의 영향을 미칠 수 있다는 것을 검증한 바, 특허의 질적 수준 연구가 미미한 상황에서 차후 연구에 대한 새로운 출발점을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영상 보안 분야는 하이테크 산업이면서 원천기술의 발전 속도는 느리고 응용 기술 분야의 발전 속도는 빠른 특징을 지니고 있는 것으로 알려져 있으며, 영상 보안 하드웨어 관련 분야에서의 국내 기업들의 기술 수준은 높으나 이를 이용한 응용 시스템 분야의 기술 수준은 그렇지 못한 실정이다. 국내 영상산업 분야 기업들의 기술 선택은 시장 경쟁력 강화라는 측면에서 해당 기업의 생존 가능성을 결정한다. 본 논문에서는 지능형 영상 보안 산업 분야의 국내 기업들을 위하여 장기적인 기술경쟁에서 원천 기술을 획득하기 위한 기술의 선택 방법을 제안한다. 이를 위하여 글로벌 선도기업의 특허 현황 분석을 통하여 그들이 집중하는 기술 분야를 확인하고, 국내 기술의 현황을 파악하여 선도기업과의 차이를 분석하였다. 또한, 국내 중소기업의 CTO와 CEO등 전문가들과의 패널토론을 통하여 조사한 기술과 제품의 미래시장 규모를 추정하였으며, 요소기술-응용제품 매트릭스 기법을 이용하여 기술의 중요성을 평가하여 R&D 기회 기술선택방법을 제안하였다. 본 연구의 성과를 통하여 영상 보안 산업분야의 중소기업이 선택과 집중이 가능한 기술 획득을 추진함으로서 기술사업화 성과를 제고 할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to develop the methods for evaluating the business value of a company's technical portfolios. In this study, technical portfolios of 10 major manufacturers and e-Biz industries are examined first from a business model perspective. Subsequently, we suggest future direction of R&D for the pharmaceutical industry by deducing the leading industries sharing similar traits with the pharmaceutical industry. Methods: In order to evaluate and analyze the patents of the major leading industries based on the constituents of a business model, the target patents were selected through the following procedure. Results: First, In this study, using the data obtained from the patent analysis, the differences in the technology portfolios of specific business entities based on the constituents of their business models. Second, deduced business rules of particular business entities through classification analysis and role-model of pharmaceutical industry Conclusion: If enterprise discovers technological change and characters of other enterprise or technology, enterprise could judge a direction of technology which will be developed in the near term and a plan which utilized existing technology to increase enterprise's profits.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has rapidly diffused across industries and societies as nations' essential strategic technology. In innovative technology, such as AI, a startup leads to technological innovation and significantly impacts the expansion of relevant industries. Thus, this study examined the trend of AI startup venture capital (VC) investments globally, focusing on ① noteworthy VC investment statuses (the number and size of the investment, company establishment, and corporate collection), ② the characteristics of each key nation's investments, and ③ the characteristics of each submarket's investments. Among the 11 countries, the results showed that Korea ranked near the bottom for absolute quantitative measures, including the number and size of investments, company establishment, and corporate collection. However, Korea has built a foundation of catching up with what AI-leading countries have established, considering Korea's high growth rate in the number and size of investments and a recent mega-round. This study has practical implications in that it determined the AI startup VC investment status of Korea's rival countries, not only G2 (US and China). The results can be used in policy-making. Furthermore, identifying the AI industry's submarkets and analyzing each market's VC investment status could be used to establish strategies for the AI industry and R&D.

본 연구에서는 온라인게임산업의 선도기업인 "엔씨소프트"의 혁신역량을 혁신경로 창출능력의 관점에서 핵심기술 관리역량 6개 지표, 연계/통합 역량 4개 지표, 기술혁신 전략수립/정책대응 역량 3개 지표를 토대로 분석하였다. 각 부분별 이 기업의 대표적 강점으로는 핵심기술관리의 측면에서 글로벌 선도게임개발에 대한 지속적인 R&D투자, 연계/통합전략의 측면에서 해외 R&D인력과 스튜디오에 대한 적극적 투자와 M&A전략, 그리고 기술전략/정책 부문에서 글로벌 기술리더십의 확보를 들 수 있었다. 반면 보완이 필요한 부분으로 핵심기술관리 측면에서 개방형/가치창출형 지식재산관리전략으로 전환과 중장기적인 원천기술개발에 대한 투자 증대, 연계/통합전략 측면에서 공공부문 R&D기관과의 상생적 보완/협력방안 마련 및 국내와 해외 스튜디오 간 신기술 지식 교류 활성화 전략 수립의 필요 그리고 기술전략/정책 부문에서 새로운 사회적 가치를 제공하는 기능성 게임에 대한 투자 증대를 꼽을 수 있었다. 이와 같은 선도기업의 분석결과는 업계 전반의 발전전략 수립에도 시사점을 지닌다고 할 수 있다.

Filmless full-PACS in korea has rapidly been growing, since government had supported collaborative PACS project between industry and university hospital in late of 1995. At the same time, a small company had started PACS business, while the Korea PACS society was being formed. In the beginning, PACS societies had focused on developing peripheral solutions such as DICOM gateway for image acquisition, x-ray film digitizer, and viewing software for research or management of personal image data, while Samsung Medical Center had started installing an imported partial PACS system which had recently upgraded with a new system. In similar time frame, a few hospitals had started developing and installing domestic large scale full-PACS system. Several years later, many hospitals have installed full-PACS system with national policy of reimbursement for PACS exams in November 1999. It is believed that Korea is the first country that adopted PACS reimbursement for filmless full-PACS as a national policy. Both experiences of full-PACS installation and national policy generated tremendous intellectual and technological expertise about PACS at all levels, clinical, hospital management, education, and industrial sectors. There are currently three types of PACS system which includes domestic, imported, and hybrid PACS system with imported solution for core system and domestic solution for peripheral system. There are more than 20 domestic PACS companies and they have now enough experiences so that they are capable of installing a truly full-PACS system for large-scale teaching hospitals. PACS societies in Korea understand how to design, implement, install, manage, sustain, and provide good services for large-scale full-PACS. PACS society has also strength for the highest integration technology of the Hospital Information. However, further understanding and timely implementation of continuously evolving international standard and integrated healthcare enterprise concepts may be necessary for international leading of PACS technologies for the future.

The intention of this paper is to give a better understanding about the implementation of sustainable manufacturing practice in the textile companies in Indonesia as one of the promising sectors in the manufacturing industry. The data was collected by taking a case study approach in one of the leading textile companies in Indonesia. Questionnaire and interview techniques were used to gather in-depth information about the implementation of a sustainable concept in the company. The result reveals that the extent of the implementation of Sustainable Manufacturing Practices (SMP) in the companies are at a level of moderate to high. From the three dimensions measured which are environment, economy, and social dimensions, the evaluation result shows good performance in terms of the implementation of sustainable concepts, like low level of gas emission, high percentage of renewable energy usage, cost reduction rate, high quality of life, etc. From this result, the authors then develop a sustainable manufacturing model in the wider coverage to be implemented not only in the textile industry but is expected to be implemented in manufacturing sectors as well. This model consists of at least seven basic archetypes which are divided into three dominant areas: technological innovation, economical, and social areas which aim to bring better performance in the manufacturing industry of Indonesia.
