The fashion of the 19C had been through many diverse styles, i.e. Empire style, Romantic style, Crinoline style and the Bustle style. These styles had emphasized a certain figures, such as exaggerated hourglass silhouette of crinoline style or S silhouette of bustle style. Following the trends, corsets became more than underwears. Actually they supported the fashion of the 19C. Apparently, the corsets had been evolved in many aspects. Patterns, materials and trimmings were developed and refined to make torso figures desirable. The initial purpose of the research is to find out how they developed corset patterns to make such a diverse figures, so that the techniques can be adopted in contemporary pattern design. The 16 corsets and their patterns were quoted from books related the subject. The patterns were redrawn of same scale for the comparative study concerning cutting lines and measurements. Coming to the late, more curved lines and more segmented cutting were used to make body more of glamour and natural. Gussets were another key technique to make them work. Various sized and shaped gussets were used to follow the trends of ever changing.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the trends of technique development of domestic textile industry and to guide the directions for researches to secure competitiveness of textile industry by analyzing domestic patent applications. This research used patent literature from Korean Patent Information database provided by Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service(KIPRIS), and the patent search scope, based on the application year, was from 1980 to 2007. The number of patents by natives was lower than that of foreigners in 1980's, but from the mid 90's, that number grew larger than that of foreigners. Also the number of patents by natives have shown steadily increasing tendency. However, the number of foreigner's patent in D03, D04, D05 of class was higher than the number of patents by natives. The technical fields where the patent application ratio is high varied from one country to another. In Korea, D01F of subclass had the most number of patents, and D05B, D04B had the most number of patents in Japan and Germany.

In this paper, the technical trends of the lunar exploration were studied by investigating the objectives of the mission of the recent lunar orbiters. The payloads of the lunar orbiter launched and planned since 1990 are rearranged and analyzed according to the objectives of the mission and the performance. In the future, it will be used to define the objectives of the mission and to make a plan for developing the payloads of the domestic lunar orbiter.

This investigation reported the recent development of 3 dimensional fabrics such as spacer fabric, 3 dimensional multi-layered fabric and 3 dimensional braided fabric. First, we categorized 3 dimensional fabrics into 3 main products; 3 dimensional woven fabrics, 3 dimensional knitted fabrics and 3 dimensional braided fabrics with reviewing the possible main applications. We also reported the research and development trends of 3 dimensional fabrics by analyzing technical trends in industry and research institutes at domestic and overseas. United State, Germany and Japan lead the manufacturing technology for the mainly preform related products to apply in aerospace, automotive, protections, architecture and clothing applications. Lastly, we reviewed the main products of the leading company which manufactured using the 3 dimensional fabrics.

Recent technologies of the car are focused on improving vehicle's fuel efficiency and developing alternative energy sources. These technologies bring on the development of hybrid car. On the other hand, because of short driving distance, low efficiency of charging and high price, energy storage system need to improve the storage capability. It is very important to understand the existing technologies, grasp the existing patent and establish the technical target to improve the energy storage system. In this paper, technology trends of energy storage system of the hybrid car are analyzed. This study was based on the applied and registered patent in Korea, Japan, U.S.A and Europe until December 2008. The analyses are divided into two categories: a battery system and charging system of the hybrid car. The facts of the level of technology, trends of the R&D of leading companies, key patents, blank of the technology were analyzed. Finally the future R&D strategy of hybrid car are established.

Reuse of wastewater will intensify in the coming decades due to water shortage, the change of climatic conditions, the need for industrial and agricultural use and the necessity of improving health and environmental conditions for the growing population. This paper considers (a) the status and trends of wastewater reuse and reclamation in the world, (b) case studies of wastewater reuse projects, (c) analysis of technology level, (d) forecast of global market, and (e) the future views and directions in development of wastewater reuse technologies. Based on the available documented literature, this paper provides a review assessment of the current status of the wastewater treatment processes including potential applications for reuse. Key challenges for both wastewater treatment and reuse are also discussed in the paper and include recommendations, e.g. cost, effluent water quality, energy use and technical solutions, for future developments.

The major purpose of this study was to design a external metadata which fit domestic demands of the digital maps. For designing a standard external metadata reflecting the current trends of the international organizations on standardization, a prelimenary study was made mainly concentrating on the analysis of the standards of the developed countries. For better assessing domestic needs, all the metadata related material of the National Geography Institute were collected and classified based on the NGI's workflow. The external metadata draft was made considering the results from the analysis of the existing NGI material and the draft was also cited some major cores from the ISO standards. Continuous efforts should be made in the future to update the metadata draft based on the opinions from domestic users and the technical trends of the international organizations on standardization.

NFC (Near Field Communication) was developed by SONY, NXP in 2002 and in 2003 respectively. It is one type of standard shore-range wireless communication system which operates in 13.56 MHz frequency band, within 10 cm distance and enables data transfer between devices with maximum rate of 424kbps. Various studies have been done on NFC technology and many handset manufacturers such as Apple, Google, Samsung Electronics Co., are trying to expand their market for new mobile services using this technology. This paper analyses the NFC standard technology, its trends and prospects in chapter II, which is followed by NFC systems and communication method in chapter III, and eventually NFC trends and future views is explained in chapter IV.

This paper presents recent trends of technology and standardization for modernizing maritime mobile radiocommunication. International standard organizations are studying for digitally global maritime mobile radiocommunication infrastructure that harmonized frequency allocations and technical regulations internationally. ITU-R develops regulations, recommendations and reports by cooperating with IMO and IEC. This paper analysed reports which is from several meetings(WRC-12, ITU-R WP5B) to held recently between these organizations.
